01/04/2025: I was invited to a brunch where everybody had to bring something "from home". I just went directly to Gourmet Parlour and one hour later, all the other guests at the brunch were enthusing over the delicious quiches I bought. I even bought one for my mother, who is not a "quiche woman" and she also enthused. To such an extent that I had to go another day and buy more. Yes, the prices are on the high side but the quality of the products and service more than make up for that. I wish people would stop complaining about the price of food created with love and good, healthy, IRISH ingredients.

18/12/2024: Stopped here for a takeaway sandwich during the week, turkey, ham and stuffing on brown bread, sandwich was approx 7cm by 9cm, was absolutely lovely but priced at €8.90 per sandwich was a bit much, I am by no means a miser, but come on, €8.90 for a sandwich that size with 3 small fillings in it. you are shooting yourselves in the foot and while your food is very good I for one will not be returning.

28/04/2024: Four of us had a quick lunch in Grooms before a visit to the Gate theatre across the road. We had soup and sandwiches all of which were very nice. The loos are positively luxurious. But the staff are outstanding! They do their utmost to get you exactly what you want in the time available to you. A lovely place for a lunch in town and although it was a busy Saturday, they were attentive, helpful and made our visit a pleasure! One soup, three BLTs, teas and coffees, total bill, €60! Good value and a lovely experience

31/10/2024: This is a lovely restaurant. All staff I encountered on two consecutive days as passing through, were efficient and extremely friendly and attentive. The food was fresh and hot and tasty with a good range of choice. What more could anyone want? I’ll definitely be back.

12/10/2024: La comida y el vino son fabulosos que nos dejó boquiabiertos por la comida, pero desafortunadamente un miembro del personal femenino más joven es terriblemente grosero de ninguna manera ni siquiera un saludo se paró sobre nosotros y no dijo una palabra. Deberíamos haber preguntado cuál era el nombre de esta funcionaria porque había otra joven y era muy educada. De nuevo la comida y el vino son muy agradables, pero cuando usted está gastando esta cantidad de dinero que espera lo básico como un saludo, este miembro del personal nos sirvió toda la noche del 12 de octubre y puso un amortiguador en nuestra experiencia

26/04/2025: We were down in the Westgrove Hotel for an event and we decided to have our lunch in here. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The service was swift. The food was delicious and fresh. It had a good ambience and the place was big so plenty of room.

12/08/2024: Everything needs a makeover. The pool area is full of mold, rust and other substances that do not belong there, the rooms look okay at first glance but are old and dirty if you take a closer look. Avoid looking behind the window shutters in room 15. A Disgusting mix of mold dirt, old wallpaper, insects and other disgusting things. The service in the bar was mediocre and slow the breakfast among the least convincing we have had in three weeks. Even 2 Star guesthouses managed to produce a better breakfast than this.

10/08/2024: To start off the stay, check in was very unprofessional. Check in is at 3pm and we arrived at 3.15pm and waited for 5 mins at reception in front of a sign that read "ring the bell for assistance" with no sign of any bell. There was clearly someone in the office behind with a child, and they didn't acknowledge us. A waitress came over and eventually checked us in. Why is the reception not attended by a receptionist at the time of check in? The whole place absolutely stinks of damp and mold, possibly because the ancient windows are jammed shut and do not appear to open. After 1 pint of Guinness, I asked for a second and was informed the bar had ran out of Guinness. Yes, ran out of Guinness... in Ireland. Very poor bar management. The mattress in room 1 was very uncomfortable. Again, the windows didn't open and the small room became very stuffy. The floors, particularly where breakfast is served, are extremely sticky to the point my flip flop got stuck to the floor as I was walking. It clearly never gets mopped. The breakfast was an absolute disaster. Breakfast starts at 8am, we booked for 9am. Almost every table was dirty and uncleared. There were no bowls for cereal. I asked for a pastry as they were on the breakfast menu, and was told there were none left. So within 1 hour every pastry in the hotel had been eaten. I asked for a cappuccino and was told that would be an extra charge. The breakfast menu has "creamy scrambled egg", however it is clearly microwaved in a massive bowl and chopped up with a knife. It's flavourless and the texture is absolutely disgusting. The place needs to be deep cleaned, aired out and painted. Also, why is nearly every picture on the walls crooked? It seems like nobody takes any pride in the appearance of the place. It's very poor value for money considering a 4 star hotel nearby was only 20 euro more expensive for the night.

26/04/2024: Nothing bad to report here. Good service was provided and had a chicken burger, chips, chowder and two zero heinekens. Toilets very clean. Sometimes they have live music. Nice decor.

07/05/2025: Worst ever food was there in Nov and again in December and have the misfortune of receiving an afternoon tea voucher 70 euros I might add when 90% of places are 50 euros for two ie Waterford greenway manor and various others hotels waitress took our order and brought some of the drinks had to ask her again for rest 10 min later then she took dinner order same thing brought some of the starters and missed out on one we were half way through our starters and had to ask her again for the starter that she missed as a result there were two stakes for mains and I can only presume because they had to wait on person who got late starter to finish the stake came out like dried out to a crisp expected better from a hotel
