The best restaurants in Wexford

19/10/2024: One of our favourite places to eat out at, but this time we were disappointed with one of the main dishes. We had the duck pate to start with, which was delicious. Our mains were two burgers with bacon and cheese and a haddock deep fried in bread crumbs with chips and peas. We had chips and salad with the burgers. The burgers were very good but the fish must have been sitting around while the burgers were being cooked, as it was greasy and chewy. It is a shame, because this is the first time that we have had a less than good meal at Mannions. We did mention it to the staff when we were paying and they did offer a discount but as my husband had eaten the fish, we paid the full price. With New Ross being so close to the sea and fish readily available it was a shame that this dish was not treated with respect. Will eat there again but maybe not have the fish.

13/11/2024: Really lovely burger joint. Relaxed atmosphere. Excellent choice on the menu and food was superb. Kudos to the chef for an excellent balance of flavours. Served by a wonderful waiter named Ryan, who is a credit to the profession! He had a perfect balance of charm and chats yet graced with an impeccable sense of timing of when to serve or leave in peace. Rare quality these days 👏 one slight downfall to the meal was a curious lack of tea choice to finish. No herbal teas whatsoever? Not even a peppermint. Very odd in these days! It's a low priced commodity with a long shelf life, so hardly something that would break the bank to have. And I was not the only customer to ask either...all in all though, I would heartily recommend this place. I will be back!

16/10/2024: I would suggest to make a stop in this local pub Jack's tavern. It is located on the main street in Camolin and you can easily spot it. The parking area is just beside the pub. I has some food couple of times and always it was testy and the meat very tender. The atmosphere is great inside as a real Irish pub in the countryside. It deserves to be visited for a pint 👏👏👏💯💯💯

18/10/2024: We are regularly at the Red Door. Today we celebrated a very special day, and the Red Door pulled out all the stops. We had planned a 'reception lunch for 8, thinking in the main cafe but they changed their courtyard into a fairytale setting for us. The service food and the ambience is second to none. Thank you all for making our 'low key' day something very special.

21/11/2024: Had an excellent meal here on Sunday - the chicken strippers were excellent and there was plenty of options such as roast dinner and a good children menu for my child. One gap on the menu I felt was a burger option but that's nit-picking, we had an excellent meal.

24/10/2024: Just wanted a bowl of soup and they had a choice of a vegetable soup and tomato, pasta and bean stew, which was like a hearty soup, served with toasted focaccio. Had the stew/soup. It was delicious and ideal for a light, simple lunch. Most satisfactory.
