Grovemount House

24/09/2024: We had a great stay at Grovemount House. Our room was large and spacious with incredible views of the sunset. We loved hearing the cows in the pasture in the evening. It is close to lots of attractions and the towns of Ennistimon and Lehinch for shopping and restaurants. The hosts were the nicest people we have ever met. We highly recommend staying here if you are in the area.
08/08/2024: The location is quite good for going to the Cliffs of Moher but the structure is run down, no attention to the spaces, rooms with dated furniture and borderline cleanliness.

29/10/2024: Decided to buy food from here because there was no other places around during late hours but turned out to be one of the best decisions.
Tried their spicy chicken kebab and it was so good. We went again to that area just to buy the kebab.
16/09/2024: The Burren Take-Away. It does exactly what it's supposed to do, namely, feed you after a night on the town! Had the Snack Box, and at €7 it was a Good Deal! and surprisingly, quite tasty too! In the box which was stuffed to the brim! was 2 Piping Hot pieces of Spicy Battered Fried Chicken, which were crispy dry and tasty! and some lovely chunky dry crispy fries and plenty of them too! And I was actually Sober too! Only one thing guys ... SMILE at your customers! There not there to rob you! You're doing a Good Job! 'Smile' and say thanks enjoy!

28/10/2024: I'm sorry, but that's terrible. The chicken is tough, the sauce that is listed as sweet and sour is impossibly sour. Very disappointed, out of four people, no one liked it. Waste of money

09/08/2024: Not very welcoming once we mentioned we had a dog, not all dog owners are irresponsible. We quickly moved onto Portumna where they are far more accommodating in pubs and restaurants.

05/08/2024: Waiter refused to give us the drinks menu and chose for us, without letting us know the prices. He almost took our plates before we were done eating, even though we ate quickly and the place was not crowded.
Food was OK, nothing less but nothing more.

21/09/2024: Yum for the mun! Value is good, best in the area if so ask me. Staff are pleasant and a minor picky order for them is handled like pros. Food reminds me of a Country Kitchen vibe. Because of all the above, I would recommend and will be back.

Refusal to purchase a drink / food in your wonderful establishment but serving “locals only” at 2pm in the afternoon is the first experience I’ve had in Ireland so don’t compare yourselves to every town in Ireland when that’s simply not true.
You are welcome to experience true hospitality in Kerry anytime, it seems ye are lacking the concept.

24/10/2024: Don't know if it's owned by the same family now but they used to have another place up in Lahinch twenty years ago. I worked there a few summers when I was a teenager. Loved working there, everyone did. Enzo was the nicest boss I ever had and a brilliant sense of humour!! Great banter in there with all the staff and the older ones would look after the younger ones. Always got my dinners there whatever I wanted. Great great memories!
01/07/2024: Food here was a disgrace. I ordered two fresh cod and chips. The chips are not fresh. Came out of a frozen packet. The same with the cod. This was frozen also. I gave the benefit of the doubt but when I got home, the chips and fish were soaked in oil and left a thick coating on the plate. The fish was so thin and miserable it wasn't palatable. I tried a bit but got a weird taste (probably from all the oil). I think this is the worst take away I've ever gotten. The whole lot went straight in the bin. So disappointed and would not recommend this "chipper" to anyone now.
