The best restaurants in Clare

07/10/2024: I recently returned from a lovely 3 night break( Sunday to Wednesday) in Queens Hotel in Ennis. I am a single elderly traveller n stayed on a room only basis, as I was visiting family n was very pleased with what I paid for my accommodation. My room( 112) was spacious with a Kingsize Bed and ample storage space. It also had coffee n tea making facilities. My bathroom was perfect with a top class walk in shower unit, and all the units were spotless and looked spanking new. The room was serviced regularly by very pleasant household staff. I had lunch in the dining room and it was lovely and served again by very friendly and attentive staff. I also had delicious homemade buttermilk pancakes served with winter berries n cream n a large pot of coffee for late breakfast and would highly recommend. There is a coffee shop with delicious cakes on the ground floor of the Hotel where I purchased some cakes to bring back to Dublin with me. I am a regular visitor to Ennis, and the hotel is centrally based in the town, which also has a decent cinema. I will definitely be staying in Queens on my next visit and will recommend highly to others. Keep up the good work!!🙋‍♀️ Anne R……Dublin 13.

04/10/2024: What was a wonderful place to grab food has somewhere gone very wrong. Extremely poor service: wrong orders, ambivalent/rude staff , over charging on our bill, coupled with long delays on food made this second experience our last. That is before I even talk about the downgrade in food quality and the significant gouging mark up to experience all of the above. I actively recommend you steer clear, what was a fantastic restaurant, is gone. It is now replaced by a shade of its former self. Let me put it this way, so bad was my experience I remembered to write this review 3 months later!!

03/10/2024: I just stayed at Monks Ballyvaughan for 3 nights. From my first interaction with Grace on reception I had a good feeling about the place. My room was absolutely fabulous. The food in the restaurant is unbelievable and the staff are a credit to themselves and their management. Can’t wait to come back. 17/07/2024: Must say new chef isn’t as good as the old one, as all the flavorings are very much different too the old ones and it as if they are trying too match the old recipes but yet failed the food was great when they had the old owners not anymore

28/06/2024: i got a Munchy box as i usually do, i’ve always loved the munchy boxes and got them loads but recently they have down graded , the spice is difference , the cheese rolls are different and so is the sweet and sour and curry sauce. The old ones were more appetising too eat unlike the new ones , they now aren’t just as nice with odd flavouring . Many people i know have given out and complained about the new tastes. Chinatown is usually very good so idk what’s happening with the new bad flavouring , ye should have just kept it all the same .

19/09/2024: Great Irish owned and staffed chipper. Lovely food and pleasant staff. Very clean. Nice little table to sit and enjoy. I got the 1/4 pounder meal deal for €10. Fast service and tasty food. The burger and chips were both excellent. Staff looked very professional in their kitchen chef uniforms. The cook had her hair covered. The kitchen is visible and very clean. I wish the country had more chippys like this. Great value too. The best sign, they are very busy. Support Irish business.

21/05/2024: Got 9" pizza 2 toppings, 3 chicken dippers, chips and a can for a 10er. Everything was unreal. The lads in there are sound. Highly recommend!

24/05/2024: Funny Chinese guy who got our order. Food not bad at all. A lot of meat serving. We ordered sweet and pork and beef Szechwan . It was tasty.

01/07/2024: I couldn't get over this place after the first time I went there, Great pizza shop with amazing food, the pizzas are always cooked to perfection! Although I would like my fries to have a tiny bit more salt besides that they are wonderful. The Apache employees are super nice and you don't feel like you are in a rush when ordering, working at a perfect pace so as not to undercook your food and to serve it to you without a long wait, amazing. Delivery comes in an appropriate amount of time and the food is just as amazing as having it served in Apache itself. Warm and tasty.It's been my No.1 ever since my first visit.

30/10/2024: Best food - Kebabs and Pizza, in Lahich Stayed here for 3 nights and Every dinner was from here. Quality is awesome, Quantity is superb. Best doner kebabs Best Pizza. I recommend this, absolute to try

30/10/2024: Batter sausage was over cooked, I ordered a chicken fillet burger with just cheese and lettuce. No cheese on burger, tasteless food, complete dump stay away don't waste your time

06/10/2024: I used to really like this restaurant but it's gone down hill. Portions small for prices. I had the smallest sized fish tacos ever , and food wasn't great tbh. Chinese dumplings were inedible. They need to change menu and prices .

25/09/2024: A lovely spot to grab a bite to eat. In a very handy location as you get to watch the waves. Food was excellent and the staff were lovely and quick!

23/06/2024: Grabbed a quick coffee prior to going into the castle. Not much for gluten free food options.

30/05/2024: We ate here while visiting the castle. It's located between the gift shop and admissions into the castle. The food was reasonable (menu includes options such as sandwiches, quiche, soup etc) but as others have commented, no prices were visible. So we don't actually know what each individual item cost. We paid €40 for lunch for three. There are around 20 tables here.
