16/03/2025: Service is decent. With food - Ordered the "pancakes" with Good pairings of slivered almonds and berries. Unfortunately, it seems they have no idea about a difference between a pancake and 3 paper thin tiny crepes they serve for whooping 13 EUR per plate. Atmosphere - Absolutely confusing and the most pretentious cafe in Cork. They do not know if they are a rock cafe trying to paint their walls black and put up cute breakfast menu and price them as much as 5 star hotels. There is no space for even the waiters to move around. Absolutely sad to see one of the best cafes in Cork renovated and did a cheap expansion to charge their regulars more for cheap experience.

14/01/2025: Came here together with my friend and partner and we ordered three different dishes. I ordered the January special (Kimchi Porkbelly Ricebowl with natto and soft boiled egg). It was a very generous portion size and super tasty. I personally LOVE natto, that’s why I wished there was a bit more natto. I think it was just a teaspoon or less (but maybe it’s because Irish people are not used to the taste). My partner ordered a Karaage Don which was our personal highlight! So so good. Super crunchy and juicy and the spices were just perfect. My Japanese friend ordered Udon and paid extra for Natto and unfortunately this is the only dish we cannot recommend. The portion size was surprisingly quite small for the price and also the noodles texture was not great. Also, she paid 2€ extra for natto (on request) but got only a small teaspoon on top of her bowl. That was a little bit disappointing. The soup base was very delicious, though. Overall I still rate this place with five stars with the hope that there will be some changes for the Udon dish and to highlight their great rice bowls! Will definitely come back again next time when I’m in cork :)

17/02/2025: This restaurant works a lot with reservations, so don't expect to show up and be disappointed because there's no table. Of course, this depends on the day, but it doesn't work very well with reservations to make sure you have a table whatever the day. It's very good if we look at restaurants in the cities, prices, quality and atmosphere/service.

23/03/2025: Great experience! The atmosphere at the bar is super pleasant, cozy, and perfect for a good time with friends. The staff was very polite and attentive, which made all the difference. The food was really good, but I missed having more vegetarian options on the menu. It would be great to see more variety in that regard. Overall, a very positive experience, and I’ll definitely be back!

17/03/2025: Rude waitress who ignored us until we pulled the takeway out to tell us to not eat on the property. We bought drinks for 80 plus euros and she insisted that they dont split bills until she caved in and split it in half. Couldnt do mental math I guess. Cocktails were mid. Atmosphere outside was solid especially at night under the heaters, but soured by the service.

16/03/2025: The best restaurant in Cork for easily the past 10 years. Food: amazing Service: Wonderful. Atmosphere: Awesome From the excellent food to the welcoming staff and cozy ambience. This is a great place to go for a romantic evening or a family dinner.

05/03/2025: This pub it’s a little pérola in ocean, I been there so many times but I never toke photos of the pub I’m no courage!!! a soon you go inside it’s like a museum and the customers they are loyal and keeping coming back and the tourist if they ask me for a pub I tell them straight away go to Sin é, no one going there will be disappointed is a very famous pub in cork city every one lives here in cork know about this pub I recommend. No photos going in and see yourselves will be treated like a king special if you are new there.

05/03/2025: Lovely little hole in the wall. The music is fantastic. Place is small, especially downstairs, where the muscians play at 18:30/6:30, but people are accommodating, so be ready to squish in with others! There's lovely conversations to be had (unless you're not looking for them) if you do. You can't beat the atmosphere—great craic all around.

11/03/2025: I’m a loyal customer of BOXD and always make a point to bring friends along every week. I also recommend it to everyone I can, always saying it’s the best coffee spot in Cork. However, I had a disappointing experience today. I ordered a Pistachio Latte, and after taking the first sip, I found the coffee flavor quite strong. So, I politely asked if it would be possible to add a little more pistachio. The barista (a girl who was wearing an all-green outfit) was extremely rude and immediately refused, saying that she had already added 1.5 pumps and that if I wanted more, I’d have to pay. The issue wasn’t the rule itself but the way she spoke to me—so harshly that I was left speechless. Thankfully, another barista, who was very kind, pointed out that I had redeemed my drink using my loyalty points (ironically), and she mentioned that she could add more pistachio without charging me. However, the first barista did so very unwillingly, and I left feeling incredibly frustrated. To make things worse, I ended up feeling unwell after drinking the coffee. I know this is not the usual BOXD experience (or at least I hope it isn’t), but this situation made me hesitant to return. I truly hope this feedback is helpful because no one deserves to be treated this way. What should have been a moment to relax and enjoy my coffee turned into an uncomfortable and embarrassing experience.

26/02/2025: Delicious foods, sandwiches and finger foods. We love that Arancine. Top service and extraordinary atmosphere. Live music every Friday and Saturday. Great place to visit at the Cork Jazz Festival as well.

20/02/2025: Always love the food here in paddy the farmers, lovely pub setting lovely staff and gorgeous food we got wings steak sandwich Spanish fries and fish cakes and they didn’t disappoint will defo be back

17/03/2025: A traditional pub in Cork city that also has a large music venue showcasing some regional talent from Ireland. It is well worth a visit if you're in town. They have their own range of ales and lagers which are extremely tasty and add to the whole experience.

09/02/2025: We had a meal there 8 February 2025. Everything was fine until we ordered two glasses of wine and asked for the bill, after we paid another waitress told us to hurry up and leave as soon as possible as the table was booked for a second sitting due to arrive later. It was abrupt and bluntly done and no need as we were leaving anyway. It spoilt the experience. As once you paid and left a nice tip they wanted you gone.

29/01/2025: The seafood chowder is salty and so delicious! It tastes great when dipped in butter and bread. 3 euros per oyster. 6 pieces for 18 euros... A little expensive, but the taste is good :)
