13/09/2026: This restaurant was recommended to us by the owner of the B&B where we were staying. A very good place; we ate there twice, the food was excellent, and John welcomed us warmly, speaking perfect French. A wonderful discovery.

15/09/2026: Had such a lovely experience for our anniversary, we are from galway Barna and had no idea this gem was close by. Amazing quality food, lovely staff and amazing Guinness.

Brian and all the staff are the real definition of "warm and welcoming", rooms are cozy and comfortable, restaurant with truly high quality menu. I wish we could stay longer than one night. 25/05/2026: Great first time experience in a castle! Beautiful castle and grounds, great bar and dinner was fantastic! Try the local lobster it is so sweet! Definitely stay here again.

11/09/2026: A wonderful and welcoming pub in Letterfrack. We immediately felt at home, and the food was delicious. A great refuge even if it's raining outside: grab a Guinness and a stew, and the fear will pass.

09/09/2026: Such a lovely place for breakfast. Everything came together really well — good food, friendly service and a great atmosphere. It felt relaxed and welcoming from the moment we arrived. Definitely a place I’d be happy to visit again.

21/09/2026: We had a weekend stay in September and had the best time. The staff were incredibly friendly, a great laugh, quick service, even though they were busy. The Guinness was cold and lots of traditional furniture gave the pub a great atmosphere. The toilets remained very clean too. The management run a Guinness and Oysters festival and raise funds for local sports teams, which was a great Saturday night with a fabulous buffet spread and live music. Over the course of the weekend, we had fish and chips, oysters, very fresh lobster, the fiery prawns and curry chips were awesome, as was the Sunday Roast! We will be booking to go back next September and do it all again!

26/06/2026: What an excellent stay we had at the Ardagh Hotel. The rooms were excellent, the food and service was fantastic. We had some complexity getting taxis home from Clifton and their receptionist came in without asking and picked us up. Really well run Hotel. Highly recommended!

06/06/2026: Loved our stay here so much we extended it. So relaxing from the moment we arrived. Staff are all excellent warm, attentive but always understated. You feel very well looked after but you are always given space. Everything is spotless, decor is beautiful...a lot of thought and care has gone into it. A relaxing inviting lounge area, a big turf fire, eclectic mix of artwork, and interesting ornaments. A beautiful dining area with views over the sea, and a delicious dinner menu made for the most romantic memorable meal. Our dog was welcomed and we were never made to feel it was an inconvenience. Similarly the place is not overrun by pets and wouldn't disturb others. Can't wait to to go back ...thank you to you all

10/10/2026: I’m writing this quite a few months after visiting Lignum, but time hasn’t dulled the experience one bit. First of all, thank you to the entire team. You made an evening for me and my fiancée so special, and it’s not a meal we’ll ever forget. We visited a few days after New Year’s, and you might expect the pace to have slowed a little after the busy Christmas period. But not a beat was missed. The service was exceptional, yet perfectly invisible at the moments when you wanted to feel as though you were entirely alone. It was the first starred restaurant I’d visited where everything felt completely considered. Nothing, to my eye, had been overlooked, from the decor and whittled cutlery to the furniture, right down to the folded toilet paper. Nothing felt overdone or included for the sake of it. Just a beautiful attention to detail that made the entire experience feel cohesive and quietly extraordinary. Every dish blew us away, and the unexpected little extra to congratulate us was a genuine touch of class. It’s those thoughtful gestures that turn a great meal into something truly memorable. The sorrel sorbet reminded my partner so much of her granddad it brought tears to her eyes. To everyone who makes the show go on at Lignum, know that what you do matters. There aren't many experiences in life that stay with you long after they've passed, but this was one of them. You bring immense joy to people, and I hope you know just how special that is. Hopefully we can make it back at some point.
