07/08/2025: Clearly, the owner is Saruman! It's all a lie. Advertised as THE WORLD ONLY LOTR THEMED PUB, I was expecting an immersion in the Tale... Look up the definition of feeling cheated in the dictionary and you'll get a picture of this establishment. A restaurant with bland, pre-made, thawed food in a cafe with TVs showing sports and the radio playing Ed Sheeran. You're as likely to have fun as you are to find the Ent Women! The LOTR "decor" looks like it was designed by your douchebag friend who says, "Yeah, I know that Lord of the Rings, is that the series with Dumbledore?" I was as disappointed as the four hobbits when they realized Gandalf wouldn't be there at the Prancing Pony Inn, and sadly, there wasn't Aragorn in a corner smoking a pipe to take us somewhere better. Investors beware if the owner offers to buy franchises, there will be 3 for the elves, 7 for the dwarves and 9 for men... ONE PUB TO FOOL THEM ALL! Tolkien's rights holders should sue them for not resembling the franchise enough! I didn't like the place like Denethor doesn't like his son Faramir! I would read The Adventures of Tom Bombadil twice rather than go back and that's saying something! I would end by paraphrasing Bilbo: "It is very dangerous, Frodo, to leave your home, you take the road, and if you don't look where you put your feet, you don't know where it can lead you... you could go eat at THE SHIRE and regret it all your life!" 1⭐️to be classified in "THE MUST-SEE" of Ireland.

04/08/2025: Visited the Shire for a pit stop for a hen party in July. All staff were so welcoming and friendly. Food was so delicious and kept us going for a while. Platters included chips, cocktail sausages, onion rings, chicken pieces, chicken wings and mini burgers. Drinks are reasonably priced. Dog friendly cafe! Will definitely visit again‼️

10/08/2025: Food was okay, have found a bit cold staff behaviour. Items are certainly overpriced.

05/08/2025: We called in on the Sunday August Bank Holiday. Such a beautiful slot even tho the weather was very windy. Great service , very polite, friendly. Seafood pie was ok, not much flavour in the sauce but the fish was nice. Fish & chips ordered, for the price I think more fries could be served. After all frozen fries are so cheap to buy. Childs fish goujons were ate with no complaints. We will be back, but I hope they take on board the portion sizes.

08/07/2025: Newly rebuilt clubhouse with nice bar. Lovely grounds, to view while having a relaxing drink and food on the terrace.

12/06/2025: Great day for golf but they don't rent electric golf trolleys, shame.

05/07/2025: Really enjoyed our meal. Everything was plated well and was delicious. Dessert was impressive. My wife ordered the tiramisu and I had the pannacotta. Highly recommend both. And you can’t beat the view!

21/07/2025: The food is good. I think it's much tastier than McDonald's or Burger King. The only thing I didn't like about this restaurant, and it really irritated me, was the fact that everyone who ate there had to have their food packed in takeout bags. I consider this a waste of paper. I get a paper straw with my drink to save the environment, but giving me a paper bag that I don't need is fine. It's good for the environment.

08/07/2025: I traveled as a group and stayed at this hotel. I didn't like the location, which was far from the city center and only accessible by taxi. The rooms were spacious and clean, the beds quite comfortable, but the bathroom lacked amenities like sink plugs and the carpet was raised. All the dispensers, including conditioner, were present, however! Breakfast was good, but dinner was meager, with portions almost nonexistent (a beef stew contained three tiny pieces of meat along with carrots and other chopped vegetables). To be improved!

10/08/2025: We dined at Lansdowne Restaurant on two evenings. All the dishes were excellent, with great attention to the quality of the ingredients and the preparation. The value for money is truly excellent, and the staff is very friendly and attentive.

01/08/2025: Such a great hotel- Rooms were lovely, service was excellent and location couldn’t be any better- right in the town but not too noisy if you want an earlier night! Such friendly staff- would 100% recommend to anyone coming to Kenmare!

22/06/2025: I paid €16.50 for this and this is the quantity I received, very disappointed for the price I paid for this being a takeaway!

14/06/2025: Asked for hot spice, wasnt. Ordered a roti, got plain naan. Portions pretty small, but was nice enough. Ordered onion bajis and only got two small pcs. For the price, very underwhelming.

10/07/2025: Fresh fried fish and chips, fun to eat on the wharf. I needed a gluten free meal so K made me a fried chicken patty on lettuce/salad and fries - from a dedicated fryer- delicious.

26/06/2025: Had already been to both pubs in the village so thought we would give K’s a go. Fish was excellent as were the chips, generous portions and quick service.

22/07/2025: The team was able to find us a table last minute. Food was served promptly, and oh boy what a great burger and crinkle chips.

02/07/2025: The separate vegan menu is so nice to have. I actually asked the server if the menu was vegetarian, because the options seemed too good to be vegan. It is still limited to 2 main dishes, 2 starters, and 2 desserts. However, that is more options than you'd find in most places. I had the Halloumi Arranccini balls, the pasta (good and spicy topped with yogourt), and the brownie with raspberry sorbet. The brownie wasn't worth it, but the rest was fantastic. The price is a bit high in my opinion for what I got. It was a nice night out for sure.

05/04/2025: Always fresh and tasty food. Great atmosphere and the staff members are super friendly. My personal favorites are the spicy chicken wings. They are perfect 👌

24/07/2025: I wanted to treat my son to a whisky, for which I was charged fifteen euros per glass without any prior price warning. A disappointing turn of events, which you wouldn't expect in this place.
