08/08/2026: Taste was ok but charing way too much for thin slice of bread. Small spread of guacamole and 3 hard poached eggs. 15 euro for not much on the plate.

09/07/2026: Perfect homemade breakfasts on a chalkboard menu, from full Irish breakfast to simple scrambled egg on toast. Great prices. Wonderful pastries and coffee. Free range eggs. Fresh berries.

13/08/2026: The gem of Newcastle! What a wonderful place. So cozy and unique. Definitely worthwhile visiting for any occasion, whether you're in for a pint to relax after beach walk or enjoy lunch/dinner. The beer selection is amazing. The service is stunning and staff very nice and welcoming. Would recommend to anyone. P.s. definitely try the chowder, it's amazing!

09/08/2026: Just had dinner in the Castle Inn and wow 5 stars all the way. The food is incredibly good. We had the prawns pil pil & the goats cheese parcel to start and the fish & chips and tempura prawn for mains. Every single morsel on the plate was outstanding. New to the area and very happy to have been recommended this place. Service couldn’t have been any better. For Guinness drinkers it’s a short pull set up meaning fresh clean pints every time. Ten stars. ⭐️

17/07/2026: Unfortunately a very bad experience. My pizza(no. 84) while not having salt as a topping tasted so salty it was inedible after 1 slice. My partner had the "totes me goats" pizza that was missing the goats cheese and the chilli sauce. Although while it was rectified, the pizza was not good quality compared to other places in wicklow/dublin. The cheese tasted very rubbery and the dough was not very light as it should be. We also had all three dips. The Chipotle tasted like a form of curry dip, the chilli jam just tasted of sugar and the garlic aoili tasted like something that would be on a kebab and not as a pizza dip. Overall a very poor experience, expensive and would not go back.

14/06/2026: Was only in the restaurant. But excellent.

14/06/2026: We had a lunch with the in-laws in the upstairs rooms and it was the best service we've experienced anywhere in a long time. From the minute we arrived the staff was very attentive and friendly, we were grateful for the sea view table. We were looked after several different waiters and the whole team seemed well organised and we were checked on often, water was refilled frequently and the food arrived fast. Everything went smooth and the food was delicious and well presented. The perfect Sunday lunch for an early Father's day for my father in law. Thank you Martello restaurant! We'll be back soon hopefully!

16/07/2026: France Spain game was starting so had to stop for Ashford to watch the game. AI recommended this place. Was good place to watch the game and have a pint before we continuing the journey. No food here btw. Not sure if new thing as earlier reviews showed some meals.

11/08/2026: This is real food! Generous, well-seasoned, and beautifully presented dishes. One small drawback, however: too many dishes with an extra charge on a two-course menu priced at €42. Efficient and friendly service, attractive contemporary decor.

09/08/2026: A lovely meal at the very popular Blue restaurant. Interesting choice of starters and mains with enough variety for everyone. We enjoyed our shared starter of Goat cheese bruschetta bursting with flavour and interesting fish mains. A glass of bubbles and a jug of homemade lemonade and we were all set. Windows wide open on a lovely summers evening and the place was hopping, which did bring up the noise a bit. Hats off to all the serving team - they were on the ball all evening.
