The best restaurants in Wicklow

09/08/2026: Great garden centre, but very disappointing café I recently visited Arboretum Garden Centre and, to be fair, the garden centre itself is very good. There’s a great selection of plants and flowers, everything is clearly well looked after and the quality is excellent, although I did find the prices on the expensive side. The playground is also a big positive. It’s free for kids, very clean and well maintained, and a great addition to the garden centre. Unfortunately, the café really let the overall experience down for me. The prices are extremely high for what is essentially a self-service setup with exposed pastries and a deli/hot food counter. At those prices, I would expect proper table service. What particularly frustrated me was trying to order a sausage roll. I simply wanted a sausage roll on its own, but was told it had to come with either soup or salad for around €15. I didn't want soup or salad — just a sausage roll! It seems ridiculous that there isn't an option to purchase one on its own. Overall, the garden centre and playground are very good, but the café setup, pricing and my experience with the staff really put me off. Unfortunately, I left feeling that the overall experience simply wasn't good value for money, and I won't be rushing back.

03/08/2026: Lovely, rustic gardens and gorgeous store. Plenty of plants with a good café as well.

31/07/2026: Intimate venue with great sound when we seen the classic Beatles. Free parking and fabulous setting in Bray.

29/04/2026: Afternoon tea at the vintage tea rooms in Arklow yesterday. What a great way to spend a few hours. We got to dress up in the most fabulous dresses, with gloves, hats and all kinds of wonderful accessories. Plenty of time for photos Then sat down to tea, served in china cups, with delicate sandwiches, scones and mouthwatering cakes. No rush to move us on. Staff were friendly and service was excellent Well worth a trip

11/06/2026: We had a wonderful experience in Hunters hotel . We stayed for two nights and had breakfast and dinner . Rooms were beautiful and the food was delicious. I cannot fault this hotel in any way. I would highly recommend it for old fashioned charm and courtesy. We were treated so well by Katha and Eva who are both a credit to this wonderful establishment. Of course the gardens are an absolute delight. We can't wait to return .

25/05/2026: The absolute best hotel on our tour of Ireland! Completely uniquely decorated, super friendly service, and top-notch cuisine. It had a bit of a Miss Marple film feel to it :-)

24/07/2026: Staff couldn't be any nicer the sandwiches are a mad selection but they really work defo give this place a shot if your looking for a great food

14/07/2026: Really fab experience 💛 I had my Mum who is not completely mobile at the moment with me & rang up to ask if they could keep me a table for Saturday lunchtime, knowing it probably be v busy. They were happy to & really looked after her, both of us so well. Delicious food (eggs Benedict with the mustard sauce is chefs kiss 🤌🏻 I asked for mine with avocado instead of panchetta.. heads up: the guacamole has chilli in it.. seems chilli is loved here so do specify if you don't want any!). The Rhubarb cheesecake was divine & enough to share ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Neither of us are fans of chilli in any form (make sure you let them know!) & they took her plate back to give her new eggs when she was reluctant about the chilli salt on them. I can't believe their baker makes all of those cakes fresh daily! I'd love this place to be open later as I'm not into pubs & there are not really any other options in Arklow, but I'm so grateful for LoCo either way! Thanks to all the staff! Xxx

29/05/2026: Fantastic café. Great food, wonderful friendly mostly local staff and a great buzz in the place. I ate breakfast there twice last September and I'd nearly drive the 5 hours back to Belmullet just to have breakfast there again! The building was an old dance hall and it feels like there is an echo of the old atmosphere still there. Really great wholesome food served by friendly staff who are willing and able to pause and chat to give you the low down on the area and what to see and do. Couldn't recommend it highly enough.

15/05/2026: Extraordinary. All local produce makes you feel great from the offset. The right amount of fancy. The beef im still thinking about and will still think about the flavour for quite some time. Melt in mouth type of stuff. Service was fantastic too, shout to Paul.

21/04/2026: Probably the only proper restaurant in Wicklow. Very well prepared food,very well presented and fresh ingredients. Recommended.

08/08/2026: Taste was ok but charing way too much for thin slice of bread. Small spread of guacamole and 3 hard poached eggs. 15 euro for not much on the plate.

09/07/2026: Perfect homemade breakfasts on a chalkboard menu, from full Irish breakfast to simple scrambled egg on toast. Great prices. Wonderful pastries and coffee. Free range eggs. Fresh berries.

30/06/2026: Lovely staff, great service and good coffee. Oh, and the scones are great. Always go here when I'm in Bray town.

14/07/2026: A truly fantastic restaurant! We were there in the afternoon and our food was served very quickly. It tasted great and everything was perfect!
