The best restaurants in Wicklow

07/07/2026: Great wee spot to grab a coffee. In a cozy alley off the main road you’re greeted with a friendly smile and immaculate service from staff. Definitely a coffee shop to look out for if you’re passing by in the bray area.

03/06/2026: Had a coffee and it was very nice.

26/07/2026: Booked for a group of 10 for drinks, was accommodated for but not very well. First area was completely empty there was no other people there so the vibe was dead, we were then moved to the covered terrace which was fine but when a table freed up and we asked to sit there we were told of the option to go to the 2nd floor. Thinking it would be busy and lively we went with no issues only to arrive to another empty floor with a sticky table. We stayed for one drink and left because honestly it was a bit miserable. Staff were nice but it honestly looked like they forgot a big group was coming and was underprepared which is a shame because they clearly accommodated other big groups. Look overall I’m sure the place is lovely this is just my experience. For drinks alone I wouldn’t go back.

18/07/2026: I booked a spot for two for a birthday on Friday night, specifically choosing the Rooftop Terrace option on OpenTable. When we arrived, I was told the terrace was closed off for a private event. At no point was this mentioned when I booked. Instead of the terrace we actually reserved, they tried to stick us at a tiny table indoors, jammed right in the middle of a loud corporate party. It was incredibly noisy, crowded, and honestly just felt like they had shoved us in a corner because they were overbooked with the private party. If they try to claim I booked indoors, my point is that when a venue is sold as a Rooftop Terrace, the terrace is the whole point. We did not stay, as it was not the birthday experience we were looking for and it was a massive letdown. If you are booking here specifically for the rooftop terrace, just be warned that you might not actually get it. Very disappointing.

29/12/2025: Food was good and staff was friendly. The only issue was an unannounced service charge of 12%. I would pay it happily if I knew about this from the beginning not until when they bring the bill.

04/08/2026: The best fish and chips I have ever tried!

04/08/2026: Food is delicious, boneless chicken wings are lovely. Dogs can’t go inside so you’ve to sit outside only with them. Always busy.

06/08/2026: Friendly service, ham and cheese croissant was packed with toppings, really nice. Lots of seating, outdoor area is lovely overlooking the square. One of the stops on the Wicklow way passport too.

11/07/2026: Loved the atmosphere. I’ve been on 2 occasions, once for coffee and gluten free cake which was amazing, second for breakfast. The outdoors seating was delightful and the staff are amazing. Very helpful. The only thing is that the gluten free bread is a little tasteless. As a coeliac living in Ireland however this seems to be the norm amongst restaurants offering gluten free bread. I loved all else. Will return again and again. Thank you 🙏🏻

08/06/2026: We went there on Saturday, but they had stopped serving dinner after 8:20pm. Fair enough, so we checked the opening times and saw they should be open on Monday until 7:45pm. We arrived at 7:15pm, but the kitchen was already closed. In the end, we went to another bar nearby that was still serving food. Price is also expensive.

24/07/2026: This place combines several brands, making it difficult to understand where you are: Cafe Vergnano, The Curry Leaf, and The Wilde's Bar. The photos on Google are therefore misleading, and the menu is far too long to offer any quality dishes! There were four of us adults at the end of June 2026, and we ordered the warm goat cheese salad, one as a starter and three as main courses. What a disappointment!! The portions of starters and main courses were almost identical (unlike the price), the goat cheese consisted of a single slice of barely warmed goat cheese log, bagged lettuce leaves, a few cherry tomatoes, no slices of beetroot, and three pieces of canned peach... for €25 a dish! One plate even had a piece of newspaper in the salad... No flavor or texture whatsoever. We expressed our dissatisfaction to the waiter, who offered no compensation or apology! Absolutely no consideration for customers. This was the worst of the five restaurants we tried during our week in Bray.

24/07/2026: Oscar Wilde's old holiday home is now an Irish diner where you can enjoy a delicious meal while admiring his quotes on the wall.

20/07/2026: It's a real shame that this restaurant will be closing soon. The chef is returning to his home country.

06/07/2026: Absolutely unreal. The food was gorgeous, the staff were sound, and the whole place had a great atmosphere. Fair play to everyone - I'll definitely be back!
