02/08/2026: Mix up in the cinema this morning so had some time to spare. Decided to bring my 12 year old for breakfast here. I had takeaway from deli here before so knew it would be nice. Owner greeted us and sat us upstairs and we had some lovely food. Luke had pancakes and bacon. He is a very fussy eater and polished the lot which is a good sign to put it mildly 😂 I had the mini breakfast and it was delicious. Never realised there was an upstairs here. Decided on the way home we would be back sooner rather than later. Well done on giving us a new option for food on Sunday morning. I will spread the word.

01/02/2026: Spruce Goose has always been my favorite place in Wellington. Knowing it will close on the 8th of February fills me with a deep sadness. It carries so many beautiful memories with friends and family. I will truly miss sitting there, sharing moments, and drinking coffee. Big thanks to the staff I will Miss you all

01/02/2026: Was a bit disappointed. Heard it was closing so we thought we'd go have another wonderful meal there. We got there for 5pm, and was told that the majority of the food on the menu wasn't available. So we decided to go somewhere else instead. 😢

The food was steaming hot and the chips crispy, Fried Chicken not greasy no dripping oil outside crispy inside chicken is soft, not dry from frozen one and the pizza were perfect,no soggy base. A special shout-out to the NEW Delivery Driver—he was brilliantly polite, arrived ahead of schedule, and handled the food with care,no spill no mess,food still steaming hot at my door . It’s rare to get such friendly and professional service at your door. Will definitely be back!

23/03/2026: We have had lunch with ye for the past few weeks and today my sisters birthday the staff Are so pleasant and helpful did the happy birthday over the radio and brought out our cake so so nice and pleasant. Thank you sincerely for making our small celebration so nice

18/07/2026: New nibbles and finger food offering. Woodfired pizza oven. Have to say food was hugely better than previous. Yes I'd go back to eat there again. Staff very helpful and attentive. Large range of drinks and beers available.

14/07/2026: Not only the best drinking establishment in the area, but a stand-out personal favorite the world over. Here you will find perfect pints, great conversation, much of which lifts the spirits with its eccentric hilarity so typical of the Irish humor, and a lovely welcoming atmosphere so attuned to the nature of its guests whether they be local regulars or international visitors. There is a great selection of live music on summer evenings and Sunday nights, with artists and musicians of all genres, and all very talented and entertaining. I’ve been turned on to some fantastic singers and groups here: Paula Ryan, Damien Gormley, Strings and Things. Always a great atmosphere. The proprietor Shawna works incredibly hard, with lightning efficiency, fun and friendliness. She knows how to run the business because of an innate ability to understand the customer’s needs: refreshment, company, craic or a quiet, contemplative pint felt with its inherent kindness. Amy and Kevin are brilliant too, and all three work seamlessly together, each with their individual character to really look after you. I always feel so at home here, and it is really one of the only places I know where I feel comfortable, relaxed and able to interact with all sorts of people. Truly a great and unique experience and a genuine taste of what Irish life and culture are really like. Thank you Johnson’s! Can’t wait to be back.

06/07/2026: I shared a Spice Bag with my son ... plenty in it for two ... could eat all of it but would likely feel stuffed. Good level of spice ... good flavour ... perhaps a little sweet. Have been here a few times before and will be back for more.

18/06/2026: Great Asian food in Ireland’s countryside. Highly recommend if you are looking for something other than Irish food. The staff is kind.
