12/03/2025: Had a right good session with a nice crowd of locals who made me feel very welcome! What made it even better was that Ireland beat Wales! Very nice Guinness, super friendly staff, and lots of em, so barely a seconds wait at the bar. Good stuff, will be going back!

20/07/2025: Went there today with my 2 grandkids, after a lengthy wait in the dinning room as they are so focused on the drive thru, we sat at the table and my grandson at 4 dropped his drink, I went and asked them to come and mop and it looked as if it was a big job to mop up!. Never did they offer to give him a new drink! Then Sam came over and rudely said " pass that" I asked "pass what? He said " pass the table locator" i was wondering what he was referring too as we never used one, I waited at the counter.

18/07/2025: Large parking lot, very fast service and in addition a very nice restaurant, very clean, I recommend the food, tasty and quickly served.

02/06/2025: Decided to have dinner in this pub been under new management and I heard it was serving good food. Much disappointed with both of us served really over cooked chips we tried eating them but horrible plus way too much garlic butter in a sandwich. Bottled water left on tables very warm should be served cold when guests sit down. Disappointing. I wouldn't be rushing back. Staff prompt and efficient.

31/05/2025: Best of the best! When O’Donohues pub went under new management—it was by amazing folks who appreciate the unique charm and history of this pub. It’s still Fanore at its finest!! The food and service is consistently wonderful—we’re working our way through the menu—plenty of interesting, delicious options! The prices are an excellent value for top quality —not gratuitously inflated because of location. It’s worth a trip to Fanore just to eat here, and —on the way— see the breathtaking coastal views of R477 and the Wild Atlantic Way! Bravo, O’Donohues!!!

13/07/2025: This was possibly the worst Indian I’ve ever had. Chicken korma was bland, the chicken was dry and looked like it had sat out all day, the sauce itself was watery with no flavour, the Pilaou rice was not Pilaou Rice, looked like basmati, onion bhaji was burnt and dry. Avoid at all costs, do not waste your money, silver oak in town is a much better option.

04/07/2025: A Hidden Gem in the Heart of Lahinch We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Sancta Maria Hotel in Lahinch. The location is perfect—just a short stroll to the town centre and only 350 metres from the scenic promenade. It’s also right next to the world-famous Lahinch Golf Club, which makes it an ideal base for golf enthusiasts. The rooms were spotlessly clean, with newly carpeted floors and freshly tiled bathrooms, giving everything a crisp and modern feel. The attention to detail was evident throughout the hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived. Breakfast was a real highlight, with generous portions, quality ingredients, and hands down the best brown bread we’ve had that day!!!. Don’t miss it! Another plus is the proximity to Vaughans seafood restaurant (the newer location, not the original—but just as good!). It’s just a short walk away and perfect for a relaxed evening out. Pro tip: Ask for Room 7 if you need a bit more space—it comes with a double and a single bed and is particularly well laid out. We’ll definitely be returning. Sancta Maria is a real find in Lahinch!

23/06/2025: Worst experience from the staff, ordered food for around 100 euros, missing food noticed of around 20 euros, contacted restaurant with no response. Went to the place and the staff responded like hell, behaved like we are faking it and they are doing favor by providing the same food again, with a comment at the end saying the chef is not happy??? After spending a big amount, this was the service we received. Gone for dine in many times, had great experience there, but this felt like insult, very disappointing. No complaints about food or atmosphere........

22/10/2024: Had a lovely few pints here last night - a group of about 8 of us who stayed for a good 4-5 rounds. Decided to come back today for a pre-dinner drink to celebrate my birthday and were shouted at by a “gentleman” drinking at the bar who pretty much told us we weren’t welcome and was incensed that we had the audacity to pull a chair across. He told us to go sit outside in the beer garden or in the snug. One of my party said, “Do you want us to leave?” He replied, “Yes, I do.” The man apologised to the barkeeper, who said, “You’re alright.” We drank up and left immediately, as we had been made to feel so unwelcome.

20/06/2025: Called in for a Guinness and bag of Taytos. Friendly locals, great welcoming landlady, pool table....we would have happily spent a couple of hours there.

20/07/2025: I"d skip this place. We (6) were famished but didn't have dinner reservations and they (unfriendly) offered to seat us separately. The tables were literally next to eachother. Then acted as if we weren't together when ordering, bill, drinks, etc. 4 of 6 meals tasted good. Lasagna was not hot through middle, request on order not fulfilled, pasta sauce tated like Chef Boyardee. Two of our party ordered a pizza and a salad and were charged a 5 Euro split plate fee without forewarning. I understand this when only 1 item is ordered but seriously? This was 2 people ordering 2 items...just a money grab... Server never came back to see how things were. We asked another employee for water and this seemed to be inconvenient for him. When time to pay I offered card and was told "go to the bar, my machine cord isn't long enough to reach this table". Pass.
