The best restaurants in Clare

01/11/2025: I went with my family. The waitress was very nice and the restaurant was clean as well. But the food wasn't nice. Ordered calamari and they were tough and elastic, the fried rice wasn't that nice it had a funny taste, the ribs weren't nice. I ordered the pad thai and it was okay but it tasted really like the pad thai you can buy in Lidl and heat up.

24/10/2025: Ordered spice box for collection. Most of the chips were soggy soft undercooked and inedible. Chicken was chewy and gristly. Not enjoyable.

28/08/2025: Lovely cafe for fresh baked cakes and buns a good selection of sandwiches and salad bowls.

20/08/2025: Very good food, i was with a party of 10 and boss man served us all in 15 minutes. Looks a bit dingy but the food was very good so can’t complain.

28/07/2025: Great place for a camper van stop over. If you eat or drink stay for free. Pizza's are unreal. Eoin and Audrey lovely people. We stayed here when we went to the Wolfe Tones in Thomand park😊😊

26/08/2025: Highly recommended restaurant. We ate there twice: once for pizza and once for burgers and fish. All dishes were very fresh and delicious. The service was very friendly and helpful. Furthermore, this restaurant offers a beautiful location and a cozy, bright interior.

22/08/2025: We hadn't expected such a menu and such good food in the barren region of the Burren. Pheasant schnitzel, Irish venison, and excellent apple pie were a worthy conclusion to a day of hiking in Burren National Park. Highly recommended.

05/07/2025: It was ok, on the google images it shows pizza with a nice char on the crust but mine was a bit limp and underdone. I asked for Salami but they put ham and when challenged they said ham is what they call Salami, so that’s a bit random. I wasn’t offered a replacement, which would be the appropriate customer service response, so they lost a star there. The toppings were kinda just dumped in the middle too, instead of evenly spread around and that’s a bit lazy. It’s a big place but no tables or chairs are offered. I had to return for napkins as they weren’t provided. They do not have shakers on the counter for chilli flakes, oregano, salt or pepper. They only accept cash and that is obviously inappropriate for a business and an inconvenience for the customer so that took another star. The pizza tasted ok apart from that ultra processed ham which I removed. I would probably go back but ask for the pizza to be well done and replace the salami (ham) with pepperoni. Overall I was disappointed but with just a little effort this could really be a great Pizza restaurant. Everyone working there was Eastern European and it somehow felt like it may have changed hands recently. They were fast to serve the food, the ingredients seemed fresh, they were friendly and the kitchen looked clean. A bit of customer service training would help them to better understand the expectations customers have after handing over their hard earned money. To end, they offer good value for the overall quality of the food and the pizza dough itself is very good.

27/08/2025: Deserves higher than the 4.2 it's showing when I write this review. While camping in Doolin, we decided to not cook at the last moment & following a single 6 month old comment on reddit, made Spooney's 10 mins before close, and very very glad we did. I would rate their fish as second only the Kilmore Quay's Saltee Chipper, and not because there was anything wrong with it, it's just that the Saltee Chipper fish travels 100 metres from the fishing harbour and you get twice as much. But Spooneys fish was fab. Fresh, perfectly cooked with a great batter. Their chips however were the best I've ever had. I'm not given to hyperbole. Only the best of anything by defination, should be Five Stars. Spooney's is a five star fish and chip takeaway. It is frankly sensational.

04/09/2025: Ordered Meat Sung and Chicken fried rice and waited about 10 minutes for food to be prepared; well worth the wait, both dishes freshly prepared and cooked, generous portions (large chunks of chicken) and delicious to eat; friendly staff - I will certainly be back again and recommend to family and friends, thank you

16/09/2025: A beautiful place right by the sea. The staff is very kind and attentive. We had dinner there and the pizzas were excellent. Breakfast was perfect, and the rooms are spacious, clean, and cozy.

08/09/2025: Only down side to this place is the mattress is old school spring and mist uncomfortable and blankets were too heavy , but we had the best full irish breakfast!

22/03/2025: The Super Value grocery store is the main anchor. This one is smaller than others but they had most things I needed, and the staff is really friendly and helpful. There's also a pharmacy, cafe, and salon. The car park is small to service the grouping stores.

07/10/2025: The lady at the window was absolutely lovely. I had the wrap and it was huge. Very tasty.

06/09/2025: Had the misfortune to visit here 21:37 on 6th September 2025 and the customer service is abysmal. A clear instruction repeated for an order, not difficult or obstreperous, put simply a plain chicken wrap without salad. I can only assume the person fulfilling the order was being utterly sardonic because the amount of salad they placed on the order was nothing short of a hedgerow. I am at a loss to what part of plain simple polite words don’t work here but I advise customers to exercise caution if choosing this branch because the staff either don’t know or don’t care to listen. Waste of time and money.

22/06/2025: We stayed here for 2 nights with a camper in May. For travelers there is a field right next to the road. Perfect for us. It was otherwise very quiet at the park. Nice lady who manages it, offered all the help. Sanitary facilities are fine, you can enter the buildings with a code. There is a small shop but we did not use it. The view is very beautiful! Cliffs of Moher about 15 minutes by car. To go by bike (not electric) we did not find the road very nice and also too steep! Excellent campsite for travelers.

08/10/2025: Lovely place. Lovely staff but the food i had was just gross. Had lamb for dinner. Red raw on the inside and like a rock from the Burren to cut. Shame on the cook thats cooking there.

01/10/2025: A great wee find! We have stopped off here for food when travelling on numerous occasions over last 10 years it's consistently excellent. The burgers are our favourite now! And if your lucky you might just catch a beautiful trad session in the evening with amazing voices as well as tunes!.
