The best restaurants in Clare

25/08/2025: I used to like this place, but a few weeks ago we found a dying fly in our chips, which was absolutely disgusting. More recently, I stopped by Yum Yum while passing and saw a fair number of flies inside. Really disappointed and totally put off by the lack of cleanliness.

22/02/2026: Had a nice quiet Coffee here one evening so not sure of menu. Only was enjoying coffee so much it went quite a few minutes after closing. ( Sunday 6.00 ) never said anything girl must have sensed my comfort lol ty nice coffee.

15/02/2026: We arrived quite late as we were travelling a few hours. When we arrived the 2 girls at reception informed us of a €150 deposit due to their “no smoking rule”, they said it was mandatory due to “people smoking before”. Think this is very unfair as the rooms aren’t cheap as it is. The girls checked us in, handed us our key cards but didn’t tell us where to go or what floor our room was on. We took the lift up, got out on the right floor but our room wasn’t there, had to walk through corridors through every door we could find to then eventually finding the room. Would be a lot more helpful if they told us where to go😊. The room was very outdated, cheap mattress which isn’t comfortable to sleep on if you suffer with back problems. The bed was pretty small for 2 people too. Window was closed but still had air coming through it which made it a bit colder in the room. The view outside wasn’t too bad, we were looking out onto the road. The bathroom is also very outdated and looks dirty if im honest, very uncomfortable to touch anything in it. There was an open door in the bathroom leading into the pipe work??? With loads of dust and spider webs in it also making it more unpleasant. No hair dryer, iron in the rooms as you need to “request them”. We were informed in the morning it would be 2+ hours until we know if we get our deposit back as “housekeepers need to check we haven’t damaged the property or smoked in the room”. Overall, was an okay stay for the night but before you stay be aware of the deposit and it’s not a big fancy place to stay in.

17/10/2025: What a hidden gem! Kate and the staff were fantastic from the moment we arrived (past check-in time) to the moment we left. We, unfortunately, had no luggage as it was not put on our flight from Glasgow. Kate went out of her way to make us feel as comfortable as possible given the situation. We had to alter our original plans of hiking (due to lack of clothes/gear) and Kate spent a considerable amount of time giving us suggestions for an alternate plan. We took her recommendations and were able to enjoy many sights and delicious foods and a great ferry trip to our next destination. The breakfast at Wild Honey was Absolutely Divine!! One of the best breakfasts we had over our 13 day trip. Such a great experience and we will be returning! Thank you Kate!

14/08/2025: Literally the worst place on earth. They treat their staff like scum and keep insulting them and dragging them down. They are very unfriendly and inwould not recommend to even visit them

12/03/2026: Absolutely and without a doubt this was the worst food I have had anywhere in Europe. Truly, you are better hungry than spending a penny here, and the prices are 3 to 4 times what you would spend anywhere else. Avoid. Spend your time looking at the cliffs.

12/03/2026: I don't know if it was the cliffs or the rain that soaked me completely, but it's the best vegetable soup I've ever tasted.

19/10/2025: This is the ONLY place we eat when visiting Lahinch . Perfect to watch the sun going down over the water. Tasty food, relaxed vibe and lovely people.

03/03/2026: I wanted to say a huge thank you to Dylan and Kieron the bar staff the other Thursday night when I got stranded in the airport after my bus to Cork kept driving past without stopping then not turning up at all. They were so kind and helpful throughout the ordeal. They explained the complexity of the Irish public transport and kept positive. Meanwhile it was my first time in Ireland, my data wouldn’t work and I was by myself. After hours of the bus not showing up Dylan and Kieron started to come up with a plan of how I could get somewhere safe for the night. Dylan then went to speak to a bus driver to try and get more information on my mystery bus. It suddenly cancelled so Dylan and the bus driver sorted it out for me to get to the nearest place and they gave me some hotel recommendations. I honestly don’t know what I would have done without these two the other night. They were lovely, kind and positive. Thank you so much for your help!

14/02/2026: Terrible service. They use a scan barcode at table to order which failed to work which should have been an immediate red flag to leave. Ordered for 7 people. Order failed. Asked staff member to see if order went to kitchen. He checked after asking a second time, then left us with no offer to solve the problem or manually take the order even though my card was charged full amount. Tried to contact the head office, no response. Opened a dispute with card vendor. Terrible service and will not be returning.

22/12/2025: Staff are very helpful and kind, has halal option as well (the chicken) and has vegan option

08/11/2025: Staff here are so lovely. I spilled a scalding cup of tea on myself and one of the staff members helped me clean it up, gave me burn cream for my hand, and gave me a fresh cup of tea. She was so kind about it all and so helpful. Made a bad situation much better.

28/11/2025: Place is a classic Irish cottage setting tucked in around the corner opposite to Treacys Oakwood Hotel where I was staying. Tried their spicy chicken kebab, quantity was good but the chicken was cooked inconsistently, some pieces were chewy & hard, some pieces were soft however some were undercooked as felt rubbery while chewing had to spit out. Customer service was good and there was no long wait after ordering. Food quality can be improved.
