The best restaurants in Clare

09/09/2025: Absolutely delicious breaded chicken breast (one was curry and one was parmigiana) with cooked cabbage, carrots and a huge portion of Irish mashed potatoes!! Okay so the chairs on the patio were a bit warn but if you want some delicious home cooked food at a reasonable price..this is your place. We found our servers to very pleasant and friendly although we only saw them to order and when we got our food.

17/11/2025: I love this quirky little cafe/restaurant. The pizza is always nice, so are the cheeseboards. They have a great selection of wine and plenty Italian goods.

29/08/2025: We had an excellent dinner at Naughton’s Bar in Kilkee. Our group of five showed up with one more than our reservation allowed, but Elaine handled it with ease and got us seated quickly without fuss. The service throughout the evening was prompt, friendly, and clearly well organized — the whole team is on point. Before dinner we had the pleasure of chatting with Paddy Collins behind the bar. His knowledge of Kilkee’s history, his great personality, and his warm hospitality set the tone for the night. He’s a gem. The food itself was absolutely delicious — starters and mains alike were top-notch, beautifully prepared, and full of flavor. Combine that with the very fair pricing and you get excellent value for money. Naughton’s is truly a testament to what makes Kilkee special: great food, genuine people, and welcoming service. Big thanks to Elaine, Paddy, and the whole team for a wonderful evening. We’ll definitely be back!

28/08/2025: Arrived and it took 10 minutes for someone to take our food order (no biggy) the food was excellent I would recommend the burger. Nicest food in Kilkee. However when we were trying to leave (we understood we had our table for 2 hours) we struggled to find someone to get the bill from (for 5 mins) A waitress came over and asked us nicely to leave as she had another table coming in. We mentioned that we never got the bill and she apologised and left. 5 minutes later my grandfather goes up to the bar to pay the bill as still no sign of anyone dropping it to our table. After the bill is paid my grandfather returns to the table and briefly gathers his things (in his late 80s) before the manager comes over and asks us to leave again? Just left us with a sour taste in our mouths. I will of course be returning to naughtons as I have since I was a child with hopefully better communication between staff management and customers.

16/08/2025: We visited Scariff for the first time ever of holidaying on a river cruiser. We visited the town and walked past this pub so decided to stop for a couple of drinks. While there the staff and locals were friendly and a family was having lunch which smelled amazing, so we decided to book an evening meal. We arrived about 7pm and ordered drinks. I had a Madri and my wife half a Guinness. Not being used to it, we had to wait a few minutes for the Guinness. The barman explained why. We ordered food, both having soup of the day and pork lion with extra gravy. The food was excellent. I loved tbe fact they asked us to let them know when we wanted the main course, so it wasn't a case of rushing us to eat and vacate the table. I'd highly recommend this pub. Food, drinks, staff, all excellent and to cap it off, the locals were friendly and happily chatted with us. We had a really nice time and enjoyed it so much as we stayed in Scariff we booked in for a an evening meal the next day.

23/05/2025: Precooked reheated burgers, dry and chewy. Cheap chips, lots of them doesn't make up for the lack of quality. Worst food experience in Ennis ever.

26/10/2025: Excellent place. I had the Full Irish Breakfast (minus the mushrooms). Good portions and great tasting.

09/09/2025: Breakfast was very simple. Porridge was more like a soup. Crumbled eggs were a very simple portion, without bread.

25/10/2025: We spent one night here in the lovely and comfortable accomodation. We loved their delicious oysters. Definitely recommend visiting this friendly and welcoming family run business :)

30/09/2025: Oysters are fresh and delicious. All the condiments and add ons with bread baskets. Haddock was lovely too. Add this to the long list of 5 star eateries with excellent service and food in Ireland.

12/12/2025: We had an absolutely fantastic experience at this pub! We never expected the food to be that delicious — everything was made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients, and it truly exceeded our expectations. The service was incredibly warm and welcoming, which made our visit even more enjoyable. We would love to come back again!

18/11/2025: The only criticism is the oily food. Apart from that the service is very good. Ideally spiced and tender. Only to reduce the oil and salt.

29/10/2025: Family-run, medium-sized hotel with a very relaxed atmosphere. The location is perfect if you're traveling by car and want to explore the Irish west coast south of Galway. There's a restaurant, a bar with a limited menu, and a gym with a pool. Highly recommended!

26/10/2025: Had a very pleasant late cheese toastie and beer here after walk on the beach. Very smart inside. Ideal for family lunches.
