The best restaurants in Clare

11/05/2025: One of the best pubs in kilrush, all the staff and owner are so friendly and make you feel so welcome.

21/07/2025: Stopped in for dinner. We did have a reservation and were immediately seated. Place is clean, rustic and had a good feel 1st piece of bad news: no clams. Given this was a Sunday they probably just had a busy week, disappointing but understandable. 1 of the kegerators was also down leaving 2 beers on tap. We started with the shrimp cocktail and I had a cup of chowder. Which was absolutely excellent. My wife ordered the halibut fish and chips, also excellent and quite possibly the best fish and chips I've had. I ordered the smoked salmon and it was pretty disappointing. Very little smoke flavor and the fish felt a bit dry. Overall the experience was a mixed bag. I would return for the fish and chips alone and hope to get my hands on some clams.

18/07/2025: Service was slow, but kind. Food was good, but not worth the long wait.

30/08/2025: The online reviews were a bit older but I can report that as of August 2025 Pipers is excellent. Between the 5 of us we had mushroom starter (amazing), soup, duck, salmon, and lamb and it was all perfect, couldn't ask for better. Great service, and the back of house is doing great work. Best meal we've had in County Clare in a long time. Giving 4 stars instead of 5 for atmosphere because security cameras feel a little under the eye of big brother but it's standard practice everywhere these days. Definitely worth the trip and thanks to the staff for a great evening!

' 🙂 my second time here and with talking to other diners also , very nice level of cuisine all round ! ,' I love the food in this place! , friendly welcoming staff ( not overbearing !- ) relaxed atmosphere! 25/08/2025: Fantastic food, lovely decor, what a location!

21/08/2025: We went to dinner for a farewell party and we almost had to walk around the block three times to get our food down. Everything was delicious. The duck was a little dry, but the lemon sauce was spectacular.

27/07/2025: A bald man working there is the worst treatment anyone could possibly have. We asked the owner if we could bring in outside food, and she said yes. Then, when the man saw us with the food, he told us we couldn't bring in outside food and that "what the hell were we doing eating outside food in his pub?" We put the food away without arguing after telling him his wife had told us she'd left us, and he didn't care. We then left the establishment and returned to use the bathroom, and when I was peeing, he opened the door and started yelling at me that this wasn't a public restaurant until he kicked me out. As a 16-year-old boy, this really bothered me and I felt humiliated. He treated us that way because we were Spanish; it was basically racist. After kicking us out of the pub, he even wanted us to leave the street and, screaming, he chased us out. The worst experience in Ireland, never go there!

04/07/2025: My wife Donna and I walked in and immediately felt like we were home. Joan was a very gracious hostess. Joan gave us the history of the establishment and the town. We came back the next day because it was a great place. Ireland in itself is a great place. All the people we met during out holiday made us feel like we were home.

24/08/2025: Generally no problems. Majority of staff friendly and helpful.

23/08/2025: This Dunns is big it has a fair comprehensive section of homeware and a further well stocked supermarket. I love the design of tableware they sell and if I could have bought it back knowing it would survive the journey in the suitcase inbound have bought a set of pinky-purple and light blue gradiented cups and plates which I fell in love with.

21/08/2025: We enjoyed two delicious pizzas at RAW — thin crust, fresh ingredients, just the way we like them. Service was friendly and our food arrived quickly. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. We’ll definitely be back to try the breakfast menu!

29/07/2025: A treasure of a place . The fabulous selection of healthy salads , good food and good coffee . Definitely the best place in Ennistymon for coffee and food

09/07/2025: We stopped for lunch and it was well worth the stop . Good selection of quality foods, salads and drinks at very reasonable prices. Friendly service. Eat in or takeaway.

27/08/2025: I hate posting bad reviews but got quiche salad today. The quiche slice was tiny and clearly reheated and dry. It was really bad and €9.50 was expensive for what I got. I deffo won't be returning

06/08/2025: Dropped in for a coffee and food looked so good we had to try it. Really nice freshly cooked, good quality ingredients. Very good coffee and dessert was delish. Service was excellent. Will definitely be back
