30/03/2024: If you haven’t been to this wonderful restaurant yet, get your glad rags on immediately! This is the best restaurant with top quality food and wonderful staff! The food was incredible and extremely reasonable for the best mouthwatering food I’ve had in a long time. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

30/03/2024: Update March 2024: The Lamplight has added breakfast/brunch on the weekends and weekdays over the summer. They are open a bit earlier than other places which is nice if you're more of an early riser. The food is also more upscale and updated. Breakfast is hard to find in town and this is a great addition to this awesome little spot From Jan 2022: Truly one of the best dining experiences I've had. We've eaten at the Lamplight once before in Fall 2021. That time, we had an amazing wine and ambiance experience and the food was good. Tonight (January 2022), was just exceptional. The wine selection was impeccable and the food superb. Our server, Ivan, was friendly and knowledgeable. Every bite of food tasted well planned and created with pride. We loved it so much we booked again for this weekend. If you are in Clifden, love amazing food and wine, this is the place to go. Great atmosphere and even better dining.

02/02/2024: Had lunch and a few pints with a friend. The Guinness was very good and enjoyable. The beef stew was excellent. Tracy looked after us ensuring everything was perfect. The fires made for a cozy atmosphere. I can recommend.

02/04/2024: Hands down some of the best doughnuts I’ve ever had, and they’re one of my favourite sweet foods. Not only were the doughnuts themselves incredible, but they were super good value at €9 for three of your choice. Super friendly staff and a huge selection to choose from. Had one left over the next day and that was still very fresh. 10/10.

03/04/2024: We arrived earlier so it was quiet. The staff are very helpful. The information centre is brilliant. And the natural beauty is spectacular 😍

03/04/2024: Beautiful. The ambience is chosen very deliberately and you can always discover treasures in the cafe. The tea selection is very good and the selection of snacks/food is rather small. Unfortunately there is no barrier-free toilet.

15/03/2024: Went there on Thursday evening after seeing a film at the Stella cinema. Never been before. Its totally deceptive you enter what looks like a small pub only to find its a warren of rooms serving meals. On Thursday night there was live music from a guy playing quit well a kind of light jaz on guitar which added greatly to the slightly bohemian atmosphere and buz in the old pub setting without being intrusive. Our only slight complaint would be it took over well half an hour for our meal to arrive, but the servers were courtious and checked seversl times if everything was ok. I orferef s starter of calimari which was very good and sufficient for both me and my wife. My pasta dish was excelent and my wife chose the salmon steak option which was also excellent. We washed dkwn our meal with well pulled pints of Guiness and were so full at the end we could not add a dessert.

04/04/2024: Had a smashing dinner here last Monday. Lovely spot, great food and a lovely walk around Youghal afterwards.

11/12/2023: I did enjoy the vege squash curry, and the Al fresco dining room is a bit different and still nice in winter if you wrap up warm! However, €17 for a vegetable curry for lunch in this setting is just too much for this day and age which is a shame as I had planned to go back. A can of soda is also double the price at €3 so unfortunately €20 for 1 person for a lunch just isn't doable for most people as a regular thing.

02/11/2023: Killer food worth the journey and for the awesome dining room view. Had the roast chicken sambo on excellent bread. Bring a jacket.
