02/07/2025: Beautiful place to go for the whole family the food is amazing here I'd go as far as saying you won't get better value for your money anywhere in the country the staff are very efficient and very professional take out above and beyond the duty to try and help customers and make them feel very comfortable and welcomed overall it the best place iv been in for a very very long time overall 5 stars all round . I hope they keep up the great work and quality in there food

26/04/2025: Nice cafe for breakfast with a lot of options! We tried the salmon bagel and club sandwich, both were quick and delicious. The Cafe has beautiful stained glass windows. Coffee was not the best tho.

18/06/2025: New layout is fabulous, loads of spaces to gather with friends. Had lunch there, chef wasn't that friendly and food was mediocre. Wasn't impressed that a half portion was only €2 cheaper than a full portion. Would go back for drinks.

12/07/2025: The food here is absolutely beautiful!! Had the cod and lemongrass special for lunch and the flavours were amazing!!! Top class food. Will definitely be back again. Very soon!!

05/07/2025: The best salad in the world. Fried zucchini, broccoli, chickpeas, noodle salad. Perfect lunch. Go and enjoy. You got to choose your own toppings from 4 options. The display case was also full of delicacies, which I didn't have time to take pictures of. The staff was cheerful and friendly. Perfect. My friend bought dessert and raved that it was the best ever. 15/07/2025: An absolute favourite, this one! It's weird that a "secret" door and a speakeasy vibe gives me so much pleasure, but it totally worked on me - making this visit feel like an event or adventure 😍 The staff were really nice and accommodating! They do offer non-alcoholic drinks as well, with a full flavour profile and catered to your tastes. Cocktails, and not just a soda in a glass 💚 The music is suited to both the mood of the place and the 1920s era they're trying to emulate. An interesting menu (complete with "a history of the cocktail") , comfortable seating (plush chairs and sofas), smooth lighting (candlelight and soft lights), and good food (we had a lovely and extremely reasonably priced cheese board with fruit, jam/chutney, an assortment of lovely cheeses, crackers, vegetables and olives/chilis. Cocktails will always cost you, but at approx €16 per drink (and the quality of the drinks) this was very reasonable. A great night and a place beyond "a regular bar".

12/07/2025: Recommended by a work colleague. Reservations are highly recommended. The cocktails were great. The speakeasy-style ambiance is fantastic. The VCC is definitely worth a visit.

12/07/2025: The Grayson offered to play all the Wimbledon matches with a giant sign outside & evident on Instagram, we went to watch the final and they said we aren’t playing this match, my friend called and they confirmed they would, on arrival, after moving 3 times they were placed at a seat where they couldn’t see or hear the tv. What false advertisement.

14/06/2025: Stunning artwork and decor, but most breathtaking (beyond the menu) is the exterior of the building! The natural growth reminds me of Park Royale Singapore and is a favorite architectural trait of one of my queens 👸 ❤️ Recommend the Miso Glazed Aubugein (sp) salad and a Guinness for lunch! 🥗 Nice office for sale attached to Boston college next door as well. Edit: waited in lobby on second visit, guests arriving after were seated first. Could work on their service. Otherwise wonderful,

27/02/2025: One friend got turkey and ham but ham was just one slice if packet ham for the price of the dinner it should have been boiled ham and food all around just wasn't as good as it normally is bit disappointing on the day

07/07/2025: Staff - mostly friendly with one exception. Visited here on Thursday evening - the place pecks itself as dog friendly - but doesn’t like it if you bring your dog along. We held the dog outside and went in to ask for a seat and were met by a very abrupt lady (short, heavy set, blond hair, mid 50s) who told us if the food outside is open you can sit there - there were already people seated there -so we went to take an unoccupied table and she came out in a huff loudly announcing - you can’t sit there and asked us to move to the main entrance side seating and then changed her mind and walked us back. No apologies, no regard for my elderly parents - just downright rude and unprofessional - for no reason at all. I went back later to ask if I could plug in my laptop for a while and was met by the same ill mannered woman - who said all the sockets were in use - in my 25yrs of living in Ireland - this woman defo has won the First Prize for the worst service and attitude I’ve encountered. Food - we ordered sharing wings to start - they were tasty and enough for three people. Two of us ordered the chicken supreme - chicken was undercooked and side of veg was boiled for so long that the vegetables were full of water and had zero flavour. Fish and chips were good as was the pea puree. They did not have any juices except OJ. But the staff who served us were pleasant and attentive, so we left them a decent tip and agreed never to return.

14/07/2025: We were very disappointed with our experience at the. Misunderstood heron on Saturday evening. Our first impression was that it was extremely noisy. It seemed to be mostly drinkers and not so many eating. We were shown to a table surrounded by loud groups of drinkers. We do understand that the food and drink are sold separately. The food itself was also disappointing. One of us had a slab of hard pork swimming in a mustardy sauce,with a few greens floating beside it. We subsequently fed it to our dog.. The mussels were fair bit not enough of them ...no wipes provided. Roasties were good...no complaints there! Dessert was also very disappointing. It was supposed to be Eton mess,but.no cream, no strawberries, just cobbled together with a bit of rhubarb puree on top. Meringues were hard and seem to have been shop bought. Also ..we understand the present premises are a temporary measure,. However the stools were all torn, curtains dirty. And there were a lot of flies. We won't be back. We have previously eaten at the food truck in Killary and had no complaints there.

08/07/2025: The restaurant is now within the bar, so was slightly confusing but wow - this food was absolutely unreal! So delicious, especially after a lovely session in the Big Dipper.

21/07/2025: Delicious authentic Indian food in the heart of Thurles. No wine licence but there is an off licence next door and you can bring your own. We had lamb biryani and king prawn pakora with peshwari nan. SUPER delicious. Highly recommend.

03/07/2025: Cookes is always a favourite place to ea. The menu options are varied, staff are all super great and friendly, and atmosphere is always enjoyable. It's a lovely spot for lunch and dinner. Never disappointed after a visit.

15/07/2025: I live locally to La Fig and can't resist getting a weekly pizza there. It's very reasonably priced for the quality of food provided. Although concentrating mostly on pizzas, the quality of food is above par compared to many high end Italian restaurants found in the capital. They also sell coffee by the bean and preserves from the continent, amongst very well made dips/sides and cakes. The quality of the products they use is obviously chosen by a very experienced person. There is hardly any pretense in the shop itself, just amazing food, which personally for me is preferable. Definitely not your average pizza shop and a bit of a hidden gem in the area. Enjoy it.

18/07/2025: Avant la visite de l’EPIC Muséum, nous nous sommes arrêtés pour manger un fish and chips. Belle adresse pour cela. Avec une pinte de bière pression IPA. Bon le rapport qualité-prix est moyen car l’addition s’est élevée à 68 euros services inclus (pourboire) pour deux. Mais bon, nous n’emmènerons pas nos économies au cimetière. !😂

01/07/2025: Justyna served us for lunch on the 25th of June. She explained the menu, and suggested lunch and drink options. She was very cheerful and eager to help as much as possible as this was our first time at the restaurant. We enjoyed our meal and we thought the atmosphere was very relaxed and friendly. We will definitely be back! 😀
