05/10/2026: Very impressive collection from the Hunt family in a really lovely museum. We did one of the guided tours with Mike and had a brilliant time. Mike was knowledgeable, full of stories and fun fact and great fun. The visit was one of the biggest highlights of our family weekend in Limerick!

13/10/2026: I’m reviewing the bar/restaurant and not the accommodation. Bar is great and very comfortable, plenty of seating and nooks and cranny’s to divide your party into a space with privacy no matter what the size. I spotted the chicken pie in the images here but it’s not on the menu anymore 😭. I opted for the spice bag and was disappointed. Spicy mayo? Should offer a curry sauce option. The chicken was chopped up poor quality chicken nuggets. Curley fries were just ok but the veg and chilli’s were great. A few tweaks and it could be a great dish.

02/10/2026: A nice place and definitely one of the few spots in the area that is worth visiting. The atmosphere was pleasant and the staff were friendly and clearly trying their best, although the service still has some room for improvement. Overall, we had a good experience and enjoyed our visit. With a little more attention to detail, it could easily be even better.

31/07/2026: Absolute class. We have been here many times and it never fails to treat your taste buds to some amazing flavours. Staff are always excellent & the homemade Sangria is divine.

12/10/2026: On our coach tour visit to Cork we stopped right outside a pub called the Poor Relation. Being just two hops away and after our long voyage we decided this was our first port of call, so we popped in. And, possibly with such a unusual name for a pub, curiosity was also the attraction. Looking at the pub from the outside the place shows history. An old timber framed building, with stained windows, and many wooden crates and barrels displayed outside at the entrance. On entering through the doors you first notice how suddenly dark inside it is considering it's mid day outside. Still your eyes begin to adjust and take in the interior as you make your way to the bar. At last. Having been served by the bar attendant with a good wholesome pint you take a good look about you to find a seat amongst the maze of rooms and passageways; and finally after passing and gazing upon walls and ceilings full of photos and pictures you navigate to an empty table, with seats. Yes, it's midday so finding a table and seats wasn't too hard. The place was comfortable and warm and filled with conversations from other areas within. Music was playing over the speaker system, not live mind you, but pleasant enough not to overpower your conversations. After some time the place was beginning to get a little busier and it was soon time for our small party to leave and explore the city of Cork outside before getting back on our coach trip home. After all that's the other reason why we made the trip. All in all a most excellent day.

28/09/2026: 5 stars for food, but the restaurant was filthy. The walls were dirty, the chairs were manky and the floors hadn't had a good hot mop in ages. Such a pity as the food was great. Bad echo in the place, conversations are so loud...

09/08/2026: Lovely and clean rooms, Good buzz in the resturant over the weekend also at the evening ! Food was excellent also from breakfast to dinner. Always happy to stay here and look forward to the next time im down.

03/09/2026: The portions were very small for the price. For example the chicken ceased wrap was 12 euro and was just tiny. Although the atmosphere was lovely, the food was delicious and the staff were very attentive with quick service.
