08/06/2026: Food came out fast tasty burger and chicken sandwich. May I suggest they keep the loo door closed as an odor was noticed.

04/06/2026: The Irish beef stew was good; the meat was tender and lean. I was surprised to find that the plate was surrounded by mashed potatoes, with no potatoes in the stew itself. But it tasted very good. Just one slight disappointment – it wasn’t served with traditional Irish soda bread, but with two slices of white bread.

14/06/2026: We stopped in for dinner and ordered the Battered Cod & Lasagna. Excellent food & friendly service. It gives a cozy, comfortable feel. Elaine took care of us during our visit and wanted to say thank you again.

05/07/2026: We stopped in here on our way back to Waterford after spending 2 days straight with a dying relative in Dublin. The moment we walked in the lady at the counter made a comment and I said we were dog tired. She asked if we were travelling far and I just said what was going on with us. She was amazing in her response to us and next thing she had us seated with menus. The staff were so amazingly attentive to us without being intrusive and when the food arrived it was amazing. It was so nice to be able to just switch off and decompress and have a normal hour in the madness we are going through and all the staff were so good. This is an amazing gastro pub with fantastic food and staff that are a credit to it. I highly recommend it and it will become our regular stopping point on the road from Dublin to Waterford. Thank you.

15/04/2026: Excellent stay last weekend with my baby as part of a hen party. Cannot thank the staff enough, I found myself staying on my own with my baby due to the fuel protests. The ladies on reception were so welcoming and helped with my luggage. The restaurant delivered my meal to the room, it was lovely. The hotel is great and the staff definitely made my stay enjoyable and relaxing.

08/04/2026: Good hotel located in the centre of kilkenny. Room was nice, clean and big, and despite it overlooking the main street it was quiet. Slightly odd setup that the quickest way to the hotel room was to leave the building and walk across the car park, but there was an option to walk through the hotel also. Bar was good, just went there for a drink, not food. Breakfast is self service and a good choice of hot and cold food.

20/05/2026: If you need food at all, ever, come here. We got the Eva’s special, soup and a sandwich, and it was heavenly. The potato cheese soup was extremely scrumptious and light, I could drink a cup of it daily. The Cajun chicken sandwich was delicious to say the least. Yummy sauce, yummy cheese, yummy chicken, amazing sandwich. I only wish I could be there every day. Additionally, the workers are so kind and jolly :) Eva’s is a fine establishment.

24/04/2026: Probably the best soup and a sandwich I've had in all my life. I was sad to see it go. Coffee was lovely too.

15/05/2026: Pleasantly surprised. Didn’t get to try enough options but few tapas plates we had were very tasty. Only 2 points - the salad leaves with the beetroot dish were a bit too greasy and the duck in tacos a bit dry. Will be back though to try some more dishes.

13/05/2026: Great food as always. I had my usual Mediterranean Roast Veg Bruschetta. So tasty. Lovely spot to pop in for a quick bite or decent lunch.

25/05/2026: Ordered the cheese plate, panko hake, carrots, garlic potatoes with spinach and tomatoes. It was all so delicious 🤤 staff were very friendly and accommodating.

21/05/2026: We got there about an hour before they closed but they were still exceptionally kind to us. The food was excellent. Quite a range of choices.

17/05/2026: Lovely little cafe. The menu is simple but very VERY tasty food with high quality ingredients! Staff are lovely. Best vegetarian sandwich I’ve had in a good while.

28/06/2026: Had our medal award ceremony for local teen football team in The Anvil, the staff were friendly and kind to the players, food was excellent, premises were ideal for this purpose and they allowed us in beforehand to decorate etc. Food was lovely, all attendees highly complimentary and I could not recommend a better place for an event such as this, thank you to all in The Anvil for a great day.

23/06/2026: Popped in on a Tuesday night hoping to get food. The very attentive barmaid said that food stopped at 4pm. She was really helpful suggesting various places including Treacy's at The Heath. Thanks for the suggestion. It was fantastic. Will drop in to your pub next time we're in the area.
