24/10/2024: Upon arrival we're greeted by a sign requesting us to wait until we're assigned a table. It was very quiet inside yet we still had to wait five minutes until we were greeted and assigned a table.
The table we got seated at was right next to some kind of cleaning corner with cleaning chemicals and a dirty rag, not exactly an appetizing sight.
The sandwiches were pretty good albeit expensive for the size, the chips were luke warm at most and not enjoyable at all.
When asked if we'd like to finish lunch with coffee and declined, we were met by the server with a look of disappointment or disagreement. Would not recommend.

1. Toilets -disgusting and smelly
2. Staff - unfriendly and very unwelcoming
3. Food - we did not enjoy our meals.
25/07/2024: Visit this place at least once a month, worth the 40mins drive, lunches are very consistent, tasty, never have a bad meal in last 10 years in it, fast efficient service as well, one of the best places in Kilkenny for dinner and reasonably priced.

A good trad session every Wednesday 9:15 to 11.

Also a tea and americano
The sandwiches were very greasy and we couldn't eat them the coffee tasted like instant.
The whole place needs a good clean
I witnessed the server cutting a sausage up on the side without using a board.
The service was poor no manners whatsoever.
The toilets were disgusting very dirty .
Can't understand how they haven't been shut down.
I wish I had read the reviews before going but it was raining n we had our dogs with us.
15/08/2024: Very poor quality food and drink. Sandwich hard on top and soggy on the bottom. Everything is pre-made rather than freshly prepared. Coffee was served in a chipped mug and the overall cleanliness wasn't to an exceptable standard. I will not not be going again.

Ich war sehr froh als ich es heute wieder entdeckt habe. Die Sandwiches sind schnell zubereitet, warm und sehr lecker!

20/10/2024: Love this place. Pamela and her staff are extremely passionate in giving a forest wonderland experience. It's quaint and homely. Even in autumn and winter Donadea coffee house will warm you with hot chocolate or coffee after your walk. A food menu has been recently introduced and you can sit outside at the picnic tables, enjoying the beauty around you. Treats for dogs and food for the ducks.
15/10/2024: A decent cafe in the center of the forest. The gastronomic offer has been expanded to include hot dogs and lots of cookies.
Attention. You can only pay in cash or with the Revolut app from your phone.

01/10/2024: What an expensive rip off ! €8.60 or something for a warm ( not hot) sausage roll. Thought it was a joke when we got our bill for €34 for 3 sausage rolls, no side salad as advertised, 2 drinks and a carrot cake! Yup , nearly €9 for a tepid sausage roll. My holidaying family apologised to me for the price as I said i would treat them. What a disgrace and a poor representation of the people of Ireland's hospitality.

15/11/2024: Great place for families and big groups, the kids loved it, my issue is that they took soo long to serve us (maybe it was a bad day there) then when the food came, they forgot one of the meals, so that was another 10 mins wait for one of us.
I took a burger, can't say it's on my top 5 burgers, but the chicken wings (which i also tried) were nice 👍

15/09/2024: Had food there today (Sunday). I ordered fish & chips which was good, unfortunately my friend had the goujons. These look and tasted as if they had been cooked then reheated. The crumb was almost burned looking and the chicken inside was very dry. We only ate half of one Goujon. When the waitress collected the plates and we pointed out that we couldn’t eat the food, she just shrugged her shoulders and left.
Won’t be recommending this place to anyone.
