Ardmore Bar

Bray
22/03/2026: The atmosphere was oreyt and enough Auld Boys around to take over the city. However, Guiness was one bubble short of a bath and the barman spent twice as long looking at my id as the border control officer when I arrived
08/03/2026: Great staff, great atmosphere and very reasonably priced.

Misunderstood Heron

01/06/2026: Limited menu and very burnt coffee, despite all the hipe.
10/05/2026: Made one of our better decisions when we decided to kill a sunny Sunday morning by renting electric bikes in Westport and cycling the thirty odd minutes out to Misunderstood Heron for a bite to eat. I had heard tantalising tales of this mythical spot, counted among the best food trucks not only in the entire country but on the entire planet, and had made my peace that Reinaldo & Kim’s food may not pass these lips. That’s because they were recently evicted from their ancestral home overlooking Killary fjord by a certain County Council that shall remain nameless, seemingly bereft of decency, common sense, and tastebuds. Praise be that Misunderstood Heron did not have far to fly before finding a new home, out the back of Campbell’s pub in Murrisk. Nested in the shadow of Ireland’s holy mountain with majestic views over Clew Bay, the Heron food truck is now welcoming a new type of pilgrim to Croagh Patrick. We were particularly blessed - on the day we chose for our pilgrimage, Reinaldo had the parilla grill and smoker on the go - and a special BBQ platter was on offer, with one skewer of succulent, chargrilled chicken pieces with orange & rosemary, and another skewer of pork neck with a chilli & coffee mole that was nothing short of heavenly. The holy trinity of the ridiculously flavourful cut of meat, smothered in the love that is a true mole, and all expertly choreographed above the dancing flames and hot charcoals, is enough to bring anyone to their knees. Don’t even get me started about the hay-smoked potatoes. Ok, ok. You got me started. I mean, I have eaten my fair share of potatoes, but I’ve never had a hay-smoked potato. Now I wonder will I ever want them any other way? But it didn’t even stop there, they were also bathed in seaweed butter! I know! I tend to leave my favourite ingredient on the plate where it receives the dubious honour of being the last, lingering taste of a great meal as it slides into my belly. I can honestly say this was the first time the humble potato outlasted barbecued pork neck to take the win. For any of you that made it this far, both in terms of getting to Misunderstood Heron and this far down this review, in case Reinaldo doesn’t have the BBQ fired up for your visit, fear not: the regular menu is also worth me waxing evangelical for a bit. Eyes bigger than bellies and conscious it might be a while before we’re back here, we also ordered a bowl of the freshest, Killary fjord mussels, swimming in a slightly spicy, and very sumptuous sauce. We were probably blessed that the beef shin flatbreads were off the menu or we would have ordered that as well and there’d have been scant chance of anyone cycling back to Westport. But we left with full bellies, had a bracing douse at the beautiful nearby Bertra Beach and then bicycled our way back to get on the train, where I’m slowly starting to make myself hungry again writing this review. These are the sacrifices we make. I hope someone finds this review useful. I certainly can’t wait to come back.

The Pint Depot

Muine bheag
30/05/2026: Despite some very nice ladies serving, the arrogant and rude owner with a bad attitude is enough for us to not go back. Probably explains why the place was empty on a Saturday night. Much better choices downtown with more welcoming and pleasant owners.
12/05/2026: Staff were brilliant , dont find many old school bar owners like this one , bat man all his life , id say he has some.stories to tell

The Orangerie Bar & Ballroom Lounge

Dublin
16/06/2026: We had a very good seafood chowder, would definitely recommend! The coffee was pretty bad and from an automatic coffee machine; very disappointing when considering the price point of 6.10 Euro for a simple cappuccino. Definitely don’t get a coffee here.

Dublin
06/06/2026: Is normal to have your doors closed and deny entry to your customers at 9.53pm on Saturday when you're supposed to close at 10pm?
28/05/2026: Great little spot for some snacks and other food items. They also have decent coffee at the cafe in the morning.

Sult

Galway
16/12/2025: . Kitchen unorganised. Waited too long for food (35mins). Burgers are on the menu that they don’t have. Was given house chips instead. Only 2 slices pepperoni, a few hidden pieces of bacon with a nice sauce and basic chips.
20/11/2025: Food was ok. Service was very slow. 2.5 hours for 3 course dinner and half an hour was waiting for the bill. Music was too loud in the restaurant and noise levels from nearby tables makes it difficult to hear your table companions further away.

Peter's

Bantry legal town
15/05/2026: Gothic church converted into a civic center and temporary exhibition space. There is a café inside and a small secret garden.
09/05/2026: May 2026: On the ground floor, there is an exhibition on the liberation conflict (photos and explanatory panels). On the mezzanine, there is a contemporary art exhibition: recent fabric sculptures by Eoghan O'Kelly. Free admission. On the ground floor, there is a small café with a few tables, but to one side, there is access to a pleasant garden with more tables.

Starbucks

26/05/2026: I have never left a review in my life. Came in at almost 6pm and somehow got treated like I'd interrupted the world's busiest shift despite the place not even being busy. Ordered a Cherry Refresher. Customer service. Gone. Missing. Then I get handed a drink that tastes like someone introduced it to tap water and called it innovation. So I politely asked if it could be switched to lemonade. And instead of remaking it properly, the barista pours half of it out and tops it off with lemonade like he's performing experimental beverage surgery. So now I've paid full price for a sad diluted excuse of a drink and got attitude on the side for free.
13/04/2026: Lovely place and great service. With an outdoor terrace and nice views.

Busyfeet & Coco Cafe

Dublin
14/06/2026: Mimi’s has always been one of my favourite places, so when I popped in yesterday to try the new menu, I wasn’t disappointed. I had the carbonara, made in the traditional style without cream. It was rich and luxurious while still feeling light, and absolutely delicious. My friend had the beef ragù linguine, which was equally tasty. We also sampled quite a few of the cocktails 🍸🤣 and left very happy! As always, the team were lovely, friendly, and welcoming. A great meal and a great experience all round. 😋
14/06/2026: Had a really good coffee in here today and the breakfast was delicious! Very friendly service.. will be back to check out the burgers for sure.. Also my little dog was very welcome! 🙏

The Forty Foot

Dublin
09/07/2026: Long waits and their order to the table system closes in the evening
06/07/2026: I came and ordered a beer, no one asked me for my passport, later I was sitting and drinking my drink and a woman came up to me and asked for my passport, I am Ukrainian and my passport is expired due to the situation in my country. She just grabbed the drink out of my hand and said she had to confiscate it. I was shocked and The people at the next table who saw the situation told me that they work in this field and she treated me very badly and I have to ask for a refund for the drink. I approached the woman but she refused me. That's why I'm writing this complaint now. It's terrible. I'm extremely disappointed, this has never happened before.

KC Peaches

Dublin
05/04/2026: among the best self-service traditional food restaurant in Dublin, pleasant atmosphere with respectful employees
23/03/2026: Had bunch here just before going to a walking tour from St.Stephens park. We reserved a table so there was no wait. I had the full Irish which was great, but my vegetarian friend felt that her breakfast was lacking the main things like hash browns, so she added them on, but our order wasn't brought out so we needed to ask again. The place is accessible with accessible toilets through a non-automatic door (that might cause some issues) but I would say for an establishment of this size only one regular toilet is not enough.

The Chalk Bar

11/04/2026: I don’t usually leave reviews but some of you may get a little giggle out of my cheeky encounter. After seeing reviews that they clamped cars I kept an eye out, but once I seen the staff oh mama! My eyes went googly moogly. I completely forgot about the safety of my vehicle. Tall, pale, handsome, blue eyes, a mustache fit for a saddle. Rough ‘n’ tumble. I ordered the pornstar martini thinking he’d at least take his top off but was sourly disappointed when he didn’t! I was so entranced by this man that my car actually DID get clamped but I saw it similar to a medical clamp, a short discomfort that would lead to prime human optimization. This optimization led me to be able to view my sweet sweet gentleman as he left work and got into a beautiful van. My carriage. Does anybody know who this man is? I’ve been working up the courage to leave this review for a long time now. Xoxo Secret admirer
14/01/2026: Great NYE night out, excellent staff! Came here for New Year's Eve 2025 with my girlfriend and her friends. Good spot for a big night out. The bar staff were surprisingly attentive and friendly, which is rare these days, especially on such a busy night. Big shoutout to the bouncers too. Fair prices for drinks, nice venue with a good setup. The only downside is that it was VERY overcrowded inside. There was a massive line all the way down the road to get in, so you need to get there early on big nights. Overall, a solid night despite the squeeze.
