08/03/2026: Went there in March 2026 : they rebranded everything and all of the delicious food you see on the pictures (Irish breakfast, pancakes) are not available anymore. The heated halloumi/avocado/hummus wrap was not great (ingredients were unevenly spread inside and the hot salad was not good). Delicious Chai latte and nice service though.

02/12/2025: Excellent speciality coffee, Friendly staff, love their Acai

11/10/2025: Refused service due to having a service dog. Very disappointing.

20/09/2025: I stopped in mid morning after strolling around town. Just wanted a tea and snack nothing heavy or big. The hot chocolate brownie and ice cream I ordered was easily one of the best things I’ve eaten since I’ve been here in Ireland! Every bit was savored! I left not a crumb!

23/10/2025: Had a great night until they watered down my 2 drinks and charged me for 2 more when I told them they were watered down. I wasn't the only one at the bar getting watered down drinks as 2 other people beside me said the same thing. If you want value for money don't drink here! Bar staff didn't believe me until I was adamant they taste the drinks also.

28/08/2025: A lively pub staff sound bar man very entertaining and mixes with every one hes so down to earth great atmosphere great tunes Awsome night out and a very welcoming pub always busy here that's a gud sign

14/01/2026: Dropped in to Hotel for lunch my first time in Balinamore I wanted to explore the town but it started to rain 🌧 will go back again

29/10/2025: Stopped here for food as we out abd about walking in the area , absolutely great place, friendly staff and customers, very very good pint of Guinness (and Im fussy when it comes to Guinness), we ordered 2x fish and chips, texan style burger meal and a roast type meal, all were cooked perfect, generous portions and extra chips brought to us at no cost. And the price is very reasonable too. Will definitely be back when next in the area.

31/01/2026: Consistenly good. Spacious with plenty of different types of seating. Top service. Chilled background music at just the right volume. Decent coffee and breakfast choices including nondairy milks. Egg and cress sandwich scores 60/100 on Yuka - pity they were out of them this morning, sausage bap not as nice!

07/10/2025: I order chai latte, croissant, and ham cheese sandwiche, and all plugins is not working! I try to charge my phone, works for 1 min and turn off! I think someone like (staff)turn it off because i tried all plugs in the shop and no one works.. I never seen anything like that before!!

04/04/2026: Venue and the comedians were absolutely delightful for the night. My comment really came from this waiter who came up to me and my friend who sat at the back of the venue and told me there's absolutely no talking during the show when I was mumbling to my mate about how funny the comedian on stage was while this table of guys next to us were flat out laughing like hyenas as per the comedian describes. Absolutely perfect line up with some serious questionable hospitality.

13/09/2025: Unfortunately, it's closed, although Google shows it as open. Apparently, it's completely closed, not just closed for the winter (according to the landlady of PDans Pub).

01/04/2025: Sadly, closed its doors for the last time on the 31st of March 2025. Will be demolished from the 13th of April. Hopefully a pub will return to the iconic location in the summer of 2027 🙏

04/09/2025: A typical restaurant of the region, beautifully decorated, and we had a great meal. Friendly staff. I recommend it.

21/02/2026: Great live music. Drinks were good. Room was full. Server removed reservation sign from the table next to us and proceeded to put it on our table saying we had to vacate in the next 10 minutes. Our table did not have the reservation sign before we arrived and we felt like we were abruptly asked to vacate with no other seats to go too. If there was a mistake made and they needed the table we would have totally understood as both parties have worked the service industry for a long time, but the way we were asked to leave left a bad taste in our mouth.

04/02/2026: Came to The Jar for a birthday party, disastrous experience. The party started at 6pm and I arrived at 7pm. The bartender girl on the 1st floor didn't have a clue about reservations on her floor, so why even bother me and ask when I came in? I had to say my friend's name 5 times while she looked at her sheet trying to figure out where the party was (literally beside the bar where she was). My friend noticed me and came to bring me to the table before she could figure out. Then my friend tells me she had booked tables more than a week in advance for 25 people but got a small corner with only 2 tables and around 8 toddler stools scattered around. The hostess replied that "the house was full" and there is nothing she could do. Why accept a reservation you clearly can't accomodate properly then? After all that, we went to the bar to get drinks and I was served a massively chipped glass (as if someone had literally taken a bite out of it). I showed it to the same bartender, she says "sorry" and throws the glass in the bottle bin so aggressively it hurt everyone's ears from the loud clink noise. I have worked many years in hospitality and everytime I go out I get more and more impressed with the customer service experience I get from places. Would not recommend anyone making a booking here.

06/03/2026: Good atmosphere but bad management. This place can easily triple revenue but management needs to change. Qr codes on desk doesn't accept table numbers. I waited for a while but no employee around for ordering. Went into bar area, there were other people waiting but again no employee around for ordering anything. Other people left as well. Desks are dirty, no one taking care of it. I visited multiple times here, food is average/low quality. Drinks are cheap. If you just go for drink maybe its ok. As I said, management needs to change to see better value from this place.

03/03/2026: Excellent place for family dinner after a walk on the pier. It could do with outside heating lamps but nice fire inside. We seated outside as it was a packed Saturday evening. Use the app to order and pay for the order.

03/12/2025: you would get a better cup of coffee out of Aldi or Lidl come on lads where are you getting your coffee
