15/07/2025: A large hotel and a large room with direct access to the parking lot. We parked right in front of the room and had no problems carrying our luggage. The room was quiet and peaceful, as was the surrounding area.

15/07/2025: My tour group and I were accommodated well. The breakfast was great, the rooms were clean, and we had four seperate beds in our room. They did forget to supply us with handsoap, but when we asked they delivered. They even filled up our water bottles for us during breakfast.

05/07/2025: I have been going to Osta for many years but I have to say recent experiences have been a huge disappointment. The vegetarian options for breakfast/brunch are very limited. The pancakes with almonds, yogurt and honey were a favourite but the new menu has replaced almonds with gritty flaxseeds that stick in your teeth. I recently ordered a breakfast without bacon - asking to sub it for 2 potato cakes instead. The waitress served my order with bacon and 2 extra potato cakes. English wasn't her first language and she had clearly misunderstood me. When I paid I had been charged for the additional potato cakes - and paid full price for breakfast with the bacon. I noticed on my receipt after I left. On my recent visit I ordered the vegan beans on toast and it was utterly bland, unseasoned and quite dry - a very unpleasant texture that was hard to digest and I left the rest of my meal uneaten. Certainly not worth €9 for some tinned beans and tomatoes on dry toast. The bathroom is one of the worst I've seen in a cafe in recent years . It is oddly orientated, feels grubby, you can hear the kitchen staff audibly. The last time I used it was this weekend and I was absolutely disgusted by the state of the toilet. The seat had been left up by the man who used the bathroom before me and the underside of the seat was completely stained yellow and brown by what looks like years worth of urine. It has totally put me off eating here if the owners can't even buy a new toilet seat, and certainly it seems that the bathroom has not received a deep clean for years. Staff shouldn't be expected to maintain clean subpar facilities. All that being said, the floor staff are to be commended, they are always very polite, helpful and efficient. I really hope that improvements to facilities are forthcoming, as it was one of my favourite cafes to go to on regular visits home.

16/06/2025: Came here yesterday with our family for a light snack. All the staff were nice and friendly. We sat outside as the weather was dry and getting sunny. I had tea which was nice and strong and in a big teapot, enough for 2 people easily and the nicest blueberry muffin ever 😋. The kids had iced coffees, brownies and muffins. My husband had a coffee. My daughter had orange juice which was proper freshly squeezed and she said tasted delicious. The brownies were lovely homemade like the muffins. Will definitely call back the next time we're in Salthill.

03/06/2025: Good food, bakery items and ice cream. 3 stars because the coffee is terrible and over priced. If you want a good coffee in Salthill go to Kali, Ré or Jungle.

17/07/2025: What an amazing cafe. Filled with artefacts from grandma's place. The coffee was superb. The atmosphere awesome. The scones...best I've ever had. Great conversation with Peter who does all the baking himself.

01/04/2025: Sadly, closed its doors for the last time on the 31st of March 2025. Will be demolished from the 13th of April. Hopefully a pub will return to the iconic location in the summer of 2027 🙏

01/06/2025: Went for lunch there yesterday 12.30, very quiet. Service was fine as you would expect. I had the battered fish, not great, mostly batter, fries were fries, salad was invisible. I asked for a glass of milk, this was sour. Dessert was apple custard and ice cream, I got what I would consider two large portions of apple crumble with equal amounts of custard, ice cream and cream with strawberry garnish, OVER KILL! My friends had the curry which they said was ok but never should curry be served with chips, let alone chips and rice! The stir fry was reported to be very nice but not enough of it. I would suggest less in quantity done better for the desserts, never before has my afters been bigger than my dinner.

12/04/2025: Starters were decent but the quality of the chicken was poor in the curries for the mains. Service quite slow also. Room for improvements

08/07/2025: We had a flat tire and received quick and straightforward help from Morans Garage. Even without an appointment, the tire was fixed immediately. Excellent service and very friendly staff – highly recommended!

07/07/2025: We had a nail in the tyre of our rental car. We drove to this garage without an appointment. Was repaired immediately. Great service. Everything was done 20 minutes later for 20 euros. Many thanks.

07/07/2025: I really like Taste of the Med. The menu is expansive, with a specialist menu for health. Every food allergy can be catered for. Coffee is good here. The staff are consistently excellent. Unfortunately, it’s not possible to leave an electronic tip. Only cash, if you happen to have some on you. I hope the management rectify this issue as quickly as possible, it’s completely unfair to the ground staff. Sara was running around making sure everyone was attended to. During a particularly busy day, a concert in the castle day, she was excellent. I could see the frustration of customers when they couldn’t add a tip to their card payment. Those passing through won’t come back with cash to tip a young person. At least I could. I have older kids so this issue really bugs me as they need the money for college life. I missed seeing Kirsten there, she’s another wonderful member of staff from my previous visits!

25/06/2025: Over charged for our food. Pointed out she was charging for a cappuccino we didn’t have and just proceeded anyway Not as nice as it used to be. Extremely disappointed

04/06/2025: Such a fun place to go,something so different to any other date night or fun night out in Dublin. Could not stop laughing the whole night and the drinks service and food was amazing.Would highly recommend trying if you haven’t already I will definitely be going back ❤️

01/06/2025: 2020: Always Great craic.pitchers have barely any alcohol in them but nachos are gorgeous 2025: Brian was class as always, Aideen McQueen tried to shock too much, but Patser Murray and Ross Brown were class! Belly laughs. Especially Ross's Grainne, see pictures ;) Free mini burgers, wings and strippers were a nice touch. And if you arrive before 7:30 you get free beer/wine :) The only annoyance was audience chatting during the show, very distracting. If you are parking at Irish Life carpark be weary of closing time at 11pm, so you will be sure to miss part of the best act at the end :(

11/05/2025: We had a very disappointing experience at Ollie's Bar. We went with our baby, who started crying at one point—as any small child naturally might. Instead of showing any understanding or empathy, the staff asked us to leave, as if having a baby was inappropriate or unwelcome by default. We understand that bars may not always be family-oriented spaces, but the way we were treated was unprofessional and completely insensitive. We felt judged and rejected for something entirely normal. It wasn’t just about being asked to leave—it was the total lack of basic humanity and compassion toward parents simply trying to enjoy a social moment responsibly. We absolutely do not recommend this place to anyone with children or anyone expecting to be treated with basic respect.

30/04/2025: Went for dinner with my fiancé and toddler, the toddler rates the chips pretty high, but myself and partner got the roast.. broccoli and cauliflower undercooked, the carrots were sour? Very strange taste off them. Stuffing was hydrophobic it was that dry and the gravy was so thick you could paste your walls with it. Ate the guts of it because we were starving but Jaysus wish we’d just gone up to sandyford house instead
