31/10/2025: Lovely place, nice selection of baked goods. Flat white was weak, not sure if its double espresso they use or not, would have liked a coffee with more of a kick

22/02/2026: First time in straffon staying in the K Club for the night and we asked were to go just for a drink to watch the match staff were so nice we had a pizza to try and it was lovely highly recommend the pepperoni pizza also the locals that were in there were so friendly and welcoming will definitely call in again A++++

31/12/2025: I have been to this pub a few times. This 3 star review is due to the last two times we have been here, one staff member has been extremely rude, she was rude to every person on this visit and was really rude on the last visit, to the point that she had to apologise one of the lads. The rest of the bar staff are friendly and I still recommend, good pint of Guinness.

12/02/2026: I’ve been to this place several times and the food and juices are truly amazing, but I noticed that on at least two occasions when I arrived after 2 p.m., the card machine had “mysteriously” stopped working. I understand that taking orders later in the day can be inconvenient. However, if you are unable to take orders for any reason, please just close the shop. Don’t keep telling customers that you can’t take their order because the card machine is broken when that is obviously not the case. It felt like you simply didn’t want to take my order because it was late.

03/03/2026: First time there, The menu was all over the wall and clear as mud Felt under pressure to order as soon as we entered but little available apparently after 12 It felt like we should have been aware??? Waitress abrupt and but the food we received was well presented just not what I really wanted Print a decent clear menu and be receptive to new customers giving them time to order would make a big difference

30/10/2025: Great food, cooked fresh. There is a nice range of breakfast options, all of which I have eaten have tasted well. Coffee is good. Plenty of regular clientele and its buzzing with activity in the mornings, which is a great vote of confidence.

27/07/2025: Found this bar on a trip up the River Shannon. We decided to go up the River Suck randomly and check out the town for the night. John was an amazing host, great bar and a beautiful town. Highly recommend a visit!

22/02/2026: Met a stunning young thing called Rhea working there in the basement coat check . Very polite . Music was not for me so left early . Drinks superb bartender great and fast . I didn’t have any food . The crowd was very rowdy and no security personnel in the basement .

15/02/2026: We booked the kareoke booth and had a few issues but Rosheen was so accomodating and sorted it straight away, 10/10 for Rosheen

01/02/2026: Was a bit disappointed. Heard it was closing so we thought we'd go have another wonderful meal there. We got there for 5pm, and was told that the majority of the food on the menu wasn't available. So we decided to go somewhere else instead. 😢

01/02/2026: Spruce Goose has always been my favorite place in Wellington. Knowing it will close on the 8th of February fills me with a deep sadness. It carries so many beautiful memories with friends and family. I will truly miss sitting there, sharing moments, and drinking coffee. Big thanks to the staff I will Miss you all

18/03/2026: I was served by ava recently, she went above and beyond for my food allergy, she was extremely attentive and very friendly. 5/5 coming again, sincerely a satisfied customer.

18/03/2026: Ordered an Ube Frappé, it looks nothing like Ube, I'm annoyed. It tasted okay, the toilet was broken. Yeah.

16/12/2025: . Kitchen unorganised. Waited too long for food (35mins). Burgers are on the menu that they don’t have. Was given house chips instead. Only 2 slices pepperoni, a few hidden pieces of bacon with a nice sauce and basic chips.

20/11/2025: Food was ok. Service was very slow. 2.5 hours for 3 course dinner and half an hour was waiting for the bill. Music was too loud in the restaurant and noise levels from nearby tables makes it difficult to hear your table companions further away.

18/02/2026: Went in here for a quick drink. Had Murphys and a G&T. Prices on par with other pubs in the area and London. They had the 6 Nations game on (Ireland v Italy). Wasn't a loud pub as sometimes you expect with pubs showing sports. Would recommend

22/01/2026: Could be a good pub but the owners distaste towards the English came across very badly. Traditional Irish pub with a great selection of beers but hate the English, stay clear.
