Ivy Cottage
29/10/2025: Charming restaurant with delicious food. I was there at the end of July with my mother staying within walking distance of the restaurant, and it was one of the best meals we had during our 5 day trip in Ireland.

Dromoland Castle
29/11/2025: This is an incredible spot. Exactly what it should be. Our family’s favorite hotel of the trip. It starts with the friendly people who greet your car and never stops. Falconry and skeet shooting were great.
25/11/2025: We were walking around the castle enjoying the beautiful decorations, but the moment we entered the restaurant the whole experience became even better. From the very first second everything felt special, thanks to the warm, human and highly professional service. Denis, Eric, Lucy, Timy… I could name many more.
The cocktail “The Emperor” was exactly the kind of ending you’d wish for on a perfect night. ✨

The featherblade just melts in your mouth!
Their steak? Surreal!
And their staff always take such great care of us.
We've been there 3 times and we'll keep coming back!
24/10/2025: The store owner is very friendly. He cooked the chicken I bought from the supermarket in the oven for me. You can come and eat if you pass by here.

McDermott's Pub
12/12/2025: We had our lunch at McDermott Pub, and everything was fantastic. The food was fresh and delicious, and a big compliment goes to the fish soup — it was especially outstanding. A great spot to enjoy a hearty meal with a welcoming atmosphere.

We were there yesterday at 4:00 PM and it was closed. You need to update your opening hours on Google so we don't go there for nothing. We had to drive quite a few kilometers and it was useless. Thanks. Regards

The Riverside Bistro
21/09/2025: Very nice and cosy place. I ordered BBQ ribs and chips with glass of Merlot wine. Ribs were amazing: well marinated, soft and sweet.
Banoffi desert was not too sweet and good. It was very delicious.
14/09/2025: This was the best food I’ve had in Ireland in many years.The owners were delightful, the atmosphere was relaxed and the menu was creative.

04/12/2025: Went here for food and drinks on a trip shortly after getting married this summer. The food and service were incredible. We loved every moment of it. When we told them we'd just gotten married, they gave us a free drink. So generous. Will be back every time in the area.
30/11/2025: Great experience, we were 3 people and all tried Irish Stew and it was really delicious and big portions. Everything was great, including the staff.

Room really nice and very clean.
Great Guinness before we ate. Then the food, simply stunning. Pork Belly with black pudding for starter, then beef cheek for main, souffle to finish. All to a very high standard with exceptional service. My second stay here when in Shannon, loved it.

27/11/2025: This is a big cold, but they have the best sausage roll in all of Ireland. No greasy, or cheap sausage meat…full of rich flavour and delicious flaky pastry.
The Portuguese Pastel de Nata, straight out of the oven was better than any I have had in Portugal…well at least as good as!
Great coffee as well! Friendly people!

25/11/2025: We celebrated our engagement at the Monks Well recently and the service received from Geraldine was 10/10, the place looks phenomenal. Everyone kept saying how lovely the place is and there was so much food to go around! Adrian and Diane have done a fabulous job of the place!

30/10/2025: Went in here recently ordered a Guinness and a vodka and sprite from the blonde younglad behind the bar(who was busy chatting and took ages to acknowledge me) .My wife poured some of the sprite into the vodka and took a sip.She asked me to taste.No taste of vodka at all(she normally checks before pouring the mixer if we are in a bar for the first time)Guinness wasn't great so we left and made our way to Frawleys and had a great night.
27/10/2025: One of the best pub grub lunch’s we’ve had in a long time . Figured because we’re near the sea we’ll have to pick the sea food lunch , we weren’t disappointed . Food tasted amazing . Had the Thai style mussels and clams and prawn pot .
Great size portions . Staff real friendly , kid friendly . They serve a good Guinness and a wicked good irish coffee .
To bonus it off the background music was a Waterboys playlist 👌👌
