The Half Barrel

03/12/2024: I had a huge succulent burger. Sticky toffee pudding. The chicken burger is excellent too. Creme brule is creamy and crunchy. House Merlot is very good.
22/10/2024: I had a great roast beef dinner with all the trimmings; mash, turnip, carrots, broccoli, gravey and Yorkshire pudding. The beef was meltingly tender and tasty. Despite being full I managed a fruit crumble with custard and cream for dessert and it was delicious too. It's a lovely cosy pub with great service.

12/12/2024: Perfection, food fit for a Michelin star, the desserts were beautifully crafted as well. Randomly stopped in for dinner and will 100% go out of our way next trip to visit again
13/11/2024: Perfect ending to a day after the cliffs. Cozy atmosphere, staff was so kind, the food was great (really recommend the lentil pie). Probably my favorite meal in Ireland.

23/11/2024: Best breakfast ever. Fresh, hot, very generous portions and great value. Very friendly and efficient staff. Great atmosphere and beautiful Christmas decorations. If we lived locally we would be very regular visitors. Will definitely come here again when in the area.
15/11/2024: Dropped in to Tea and Tones for lunch while completing a job in a nearby premises. Had a smile on my face for the whole day after. Felt like I had stepped into my Grandmother's kitchen on Christmas morning. Lovely staff, great food, unique charm and atmosphere!!! Well done 👏 👏

10/12/2024: The best chicken curry ( half and half with rice and chips). My favourite pub in Doolin for music & food. Great local staff and the best atmosphere. All the food is delicious but I have to give the chicken curry a strong 10/10. Family owned and run too. Great Guinness, great selection of drinks and non alcoholic drinks also. If you like tea - ask Paudie for the biggest tea pot they have and you’ll get a nice surprise 😀 ( from Tara, the biggest tea drinker in all of Ireland)
10/12/2024: Popped in on a Sunday for a quick bite. This was the poster you would expect to see as an advertisement for an Irish Pub complete with the fellah’s elbowed up to the bar enjoying their favorite brew(s).
We had a bowl of Irish Stew to keep us going on a cold, wet and windy day at the Cliffs of Moher.
We really enjoyed a glimpse at the local color.

07/12/2024: This was a very disappointing meal. The waitress told us there was an issue with the printer, which caused them to bring our order completely wrong. The salad we specified to have no chicken or bacon in had to be sent back, and when it returned it was the same salad but with a piece of chicken the bacon still left in it. My fish and chips (which I asked to have mash with instead but did not receive) was also borderline inedible as the batter on the inside was still raw. We asked for water for the table which also was not received. Overall terrible quality of food and service and grossly over priced. I will not be returning and came away very disappointed, with a set back of around €30.

03/11/2024: Over visiting Lahinch a couple of times a year, I always go to Hugo's for fresh bread and treats. The custard cups are next level, so delicious. Get there early if you can because they sell out. Also love the sourdough loaves

23/11/2024: The girls enjoyed their meal but the goat cheese salad was only ok. The fillet steak was well done when I asked for medium rare. It eatable but nothing special. The dessert was the best part. I loved the panna cotta.

05/11/2024: Food very tasty. But would prefer if bar was separate as when dining with kids, it's not ideal to be dealing with drinkers and having to walk-through them to get to the dining tables. Staff were very friendly and the fish and chips was yummy. Goats cheese salad also a winner and kids menu catered 4 child's tastes too. Too full to take advantage of dessert.
