The best restaurants in Clare

19/03/2025: One star for not updating their opening hours. We came to Doolin especially to try the Ivy Cottage because we read it had good gluten free options. We were really disappointed and annoyed to find it was closed despite checking their website in advance to make sure it would be open (their website redirects you to their Google listing, which said it was open every day from 12.30 - 20.00). When we arrived, there was another couple who also thought it was going to be open. Please correct your Google listing.

17/03/2025: Forget about 5 star hotel restaurants. Eat here for exceptional taste experience. The staff will make you feel like home. This place will make you come back to Doolin.

03/03/2025: Absolutely exquisite Castle hotel. Superb staff with that went above and beyond to alter our needs, especially Devon from the front reception. The decor throughout the whole building is astounding and the grounds of the hotel breathtaking. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of booking. It has not faulted in anyway. Thank you for a delightful stay, we will definitely be returning.

25/02/2025: I celebrated my 40th birthday at Dromoland Castle with family and it was superb. Between the wonderful acres of manicured grounds, championship golf course, outstanding service, fantastic restaurant, and its deep sense of heritage, Dromoland deserves a 5 star rating. That was my second time staying at the castle and I will definitely be back soon, hopefully before my 50th. I am struggling to think of another 5* hotel that can offer so much, while maintaining an easy going, friendly and welcoming vibe. Paddy at the door is a big part of that. It’s like coming home, when he welcomes you at the door. Can’t wait to find another excuse to return. Keep up the good work!

17/02/2025: 1st time going this year before The Outing Queer Arts and Matchmaking Festival at The Inn at Dromoland Food was great and fun plus portions were very good size Be going back next year before the festival

04/02/2025: Went for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. I had the pork belly (8.95) as starter & lamb shank (23.25) for main. My partner had the seafood chowder (9.85)for starter & trio of fish (21.95) for the main. The pork belly was 3 small cubes, same size as an ice cube, covered in sauce, now the sauce was delicious but only 3 small pieces of pork!. Lamb shank was nice. My partner had a trio of fish....the smallest piece of cod & salmon that I ever saw on a plate and 3 prawns, we were shocked, I wouldn't dream of giving anyone such a small piece of fish and then 1 serving of veg between 2 of us !!! and we could see at other tables 2 servings for 2 main courses. Had been to this restaurant twice before and the fact that it was nice was the reason we returned but we wont be going back. We paid a total of €70.75 for the dinner including 1 glass of wine. Too expensive for what we got.

22/02/2025: The most delicious Ribs we've had in Ireland. Great service, and manager popping in to go above and beyond for the kid's meal.

20/02/2025: Nice mix of locals and a few tourists, busy for a Thursday afternoon. Chowder was a little bit too creamy for my taste. Chowder varies a lot anyway.

14/04/2025: What a wonderful pub with great food and atmosphere. The special open face salmon sandwich with brown bread and a salad was excellent. Top it off with a pint of Guinness, and their warm chocolate granache will make for an excellent lunch. Thank you to the staff.

13/04/2025: This has been my favourite pub since visiting Ireland. The staff were amazing! I arrived on a very busy night for dinner, they found me a seat with a smile. My food arrived in record time and it was so good. It's a small place with lots of character, most of the patrons were locals. Highly recommended this pub if you're in Doolin.

01/04/2025: The food and service here is excellent! I would definitely recommend the Bangers and Mash w/ beer battered onion rings , it’s seriously good! Their fish and chips are a must too! Service and staff are always excellent!

16/03/2025: Lovely atmosphere even more delicious food. We shared the nachos and enjoyed it so much, I got the Guinness stew and it was one of the best I’ve had in a pub. Staff were lovely too. Would chill and eat here again.

04/04/2025: Over priced canteen food. Use to be a good spot for food but not anymore. Lasagna was like nothing I've seen or tasted. Peppered Chicken was a child's portion for €19. Waitress was friendly and efficient.

17/09/2024: We had a lovely time. Ordered delicious piazza, wine, fish and chips, and salad. I highly recommend this bistro. Our service was amazing! Diana was absolutely wonderful! Great atmosphere!

12/03/2025: Great Live Music Venue would recommend going there evening time as they get some of the best bands playing there and great pints of Guinness too.

09/02/2025: Food was beautiful - very fresh and tasted amazing. We had seafood chowder which was delightful. Fish of the day was cooked beautifully, very flakey and light batter. Very good specials board with daily options. Service was very quick, staff extremely friendly and attentive. Kenny's also had a very welcoming and warm atmosphere

29/03/2025: Stayed a night there recently, really liked it, and will definitely go back. Nice rooms friendly staff and the food in the restaurant was first class.
