It’s just a bit tired, a bit untidy and the bar area very much smelt of fried food, which was a bit unpleasant.
Sadly it’s not for us.

13/08/2024: Lovely place, with a great buzz. People of all ages and very busy. They have live music sometimes that can be really good and heated seats in outside area.
08/07/2024: I had lunch here on a Sunday afternoon with three teenagers and a young adult. Service was very friendly and competent. We all enjoyed our meals and our vegetarian was very pleased with her Halloumi burger. Only disappointment was the lack of vinegar to accompany the really excellent chips.

I got overcharged for food I never ordered and then after asking for the bill, couldn’t get anyone to let me pay for almost 30 minutes, even with flagging down every employee walking past and just got ignored. The tables next to me felt bad and all joined in getting someone over and then I
got a nasty attitude and they refused to fix the bill. I just paid because I was done being there but honestly, I can’t recommend this place to anyone.
30/03/2025: Nice place. Great atmosphere. Excellent service. The Hudson big breakfast is the best Breakfast around. Perfect for starting a days shopping or while your waiting for your wife to finish 😁 Have visited several times. Always happy with everything. Loaded truffle & garlic fries are so good. Areas available for party reservation including large room for up to 80 people.

Don't let the rustic look of the place fool you as it is a great place for kids and the posters were very much a conversational starter with the young person crowd. The bangers and mash were excellent. The music selection was superb - someone really knew there stuff!

06/04/2025: The location is good, the bed comfortable, but everything else completely ruins the stay. The walls are as thin as paper, you can hear everything. And what about the evenings organized within the hotel, which start at 4 p.m. and end at 1 a.m.: permanent sound hell. Impossible to close my eyes. This is unacceptable for an establishment supposed to offer rest. Catastrophic experience, to avoid if you hope to sleep.
01/04/2025: Terrible experience, more than three stars I would say 1 stable. private parties with disco music after midnight smelly rooms staff who don't know any language or come well so high prices. with half the price you stay in the center of Dublin leg-breaking stairs and 1940s camping bathrooms if you go don't say I didn't warn you they want payment in advance otherwise no one would pay

03/02/2025: Definitely the cosiest and friendliest pub in Waterford - the little snug with the fire is beyond compare. Great selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks with superb recommendations from Tom and the bar staff. Gigs upstairs are unreal. Best value glass of wine in a crystal glass ever!
