22/09/2024: I’m not being dramatic, but when I took my first bite of the mackerel with the salad and that caramelised rhubarb.. my hands praised a higher power in the sky , as if my body somatically reacted to the food, before my brain could even register a response… Yes it was thaaat good! Everything about the food here, from the salad grown out front, to the little crunchy seeds and onions and the dressings and sauces… would not change a thing, try everything, it’s all delicious, fresh, absolute satisfaction on a plate, On all of thee levels physically, mentally, emotionally & spiritually 💜💜💜🌸🌸🌸💚💚💚 the best the best the best!

15/09/2024: A unique and fabulous spot for lunch in Inisbofin! We stopped off during a cycling tour of the island...4 adults, 4 children. The food was phenomenal especially the fish tacos. The hot dogs went down a treat for the children. Highly recommend and so glad we stopped!

03/04/2025: Yummy gluten free options *2 cakes and plenty of variety of milks lactose intolerance...soya 😋 Also had a lovely salad bowl pre made for only 550.. * why I took stars away ✨️ so I asked two staff if there was any seating upstairs ...to which they replied 🤔 they didn't know... So my son went up to find loads? Odd

28/03/2025: Went in to this 'car service station' for some coolant. None to be got on the little tiny shelf for car stuff. Asked the staff if there is any in the back. Fair play the looked but to no avail.. had to resort to using water temporarily. When to the service area and paid the €1 for water and then the water didn't work. Had to fill up an old bottle in the van to get the water because I wasn't paying €3 odd for a bottle that these stations usually charge. Very pissed off what a state these petrol stations have become. 3 restaurants though 🤔

11/04/2025: Stopped here for a quick lunch with my mother. The decor is quite drap but service was quick and food was average. Regrettably the woman tried to overcharge us so keep an eye on your bill.

07/04/2025: Stopped in for breakfast. No one was there and the music was blaring. I was about to leave when a server finally came in from outside. I asked if they were open for breakfast and she said yes and asked if I wanted a small or large which confused me at first. I didn't want an Irish breakfast so I asked to see the menu. The omlette I ordered was burnt on the bottom, the coffee had no taste, and the bread was stale. The coffee mug was also dirty and sticky. The server wasn't very friendly.

05/04/2025: By far the worst service I’ve ever received in my life. Went with my friend tonight (5/4/25) and was appalled with the staff. They were blatantly rude to us the whole meal. I had booked this dinner at 5pm on a Saturday night for 2 people. When we arrived we were immediately shouted at asking for ID and what age we were. We are both 19 and handed the man our ID’s. As he was looking at them another man came up to us to question our age. We said we are 19 and have a reservation for food. The two began to shout about how they shouldn’t let us in as it is against house rules and they are 21s today. We were confused as this was not advertised anywhere on the website nor was explained when we booked the table. They acted like they were doing us a favour by letting us eat and made a big show of taking away the drinks menu from the table we were sat at. Might I add, we were the only table in this place, not that I’m surprised. We then ordered our food and I asked, to double check, if he was certain that we could not order a drink. He completely switched up his fake politeness into a voice of disgust, saying obviously we cannot order a drink. I would genuinely understand this if it was 7pm or after on a Saturday night, but at 5pm with your only table? We felt thoroughly disrespected by these 2 employees and they will be the main reason we will never return. To make matters worse, when i asked for the bill the employee made a snide remark about why we wouldn’t want to say in the establishment for longer. The food was standard and price was good, but no price is worth enduring the staff. I honestly struggked to pay the bill as I felt it was too much for the joke of an evening I had. As a hospitality worker myself I can honestly say I have never experienced such an abysmal experience in a restaurant. If I could give this 0 stars I would.

04/04/2025: We held our annual Nutrition x Engineering Ball upstairs in McGowans for the second year in a row and we can certainly say it did not disappoint! Ellen and all the team were so accommodating, assisting us with any issues. We will definitely be back! Thanks so much guys for allowing us host an amazing evening - the highlight of the Nutrition Society’s year🔥🥰🫶🏻

15/03/2025: Tomamos una cerveza después de recorrer el castillo de Blarney. Disfrutamos de una buena salida a bolsa y una buena conversación con el servidor detrás de la barra. La pizza se veía bien, pero teníamos otros planes para la cena.

15/03/2025: I just stopped by here today 15/03/2025 to meet a relative. We had a few beers but nothing to eat. Pleasant bar staff. Nice quaint interior. Toilets were spotless. Just one problem the head on the second and third pint of Guinness was too big. Overall a good pub to visit.
