26/07/2025: This hotel is well situated in the heart of Killarney and offers relatively convenient parking nearby at the Great Southern hotel. The building's facade and the reception area are quite charming, but unfortunately the positives for us ended there. The rooms are a bit tight (as to be expected from an old building) and the bathroom/plumbing was a little less than perfect, though workable enough if everything else had been good. Unfortunately, there was an intermittent vibrating sound in the wall of our room that the staff of the hotel could not locate and stop, coupled with a gap between the door and floor that let light into the room. This led to two terrible nights of sleep. Upon check-in we were advised that breakfast was included with our reservation but when we went to the breakfast room we were told that it was not included after all and we ended up paying over €40 for some pancakes and a continental breakfast buffet. The room's hairdryer had a concentrator attachment that did not fit the hairdryer (a small point that I wouldn't even mention if it wasn't a good example of how they are trying to provide a great experience, but miss the mark in the details). Travelers should also know that the hotel provides turndown service (nice!) every evening around 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. and they will ring your room's doorbell even if you have the do not disturb sign up, so do not try to shower or nap during that part of the day. The staff is friendly and tries their best, and it's clear that they are trying to provide an elevated level of experience and service, but the basic details were managed so poorly (and couldn't be improved or recompensed) that we would never go back.

15/08/2025: Situated just a short drive out of Killarney, Killeen House is the perfect mix of being accessible to but not in the mix of the crowd. Exceptional service, we constantly felt welcomed and cared for. The beds were incredibly comfortable. No air con but we were provided a fan when asked.

08/08/2025: I was really looking forward to staying at this hotel. When we arrived at reception, they asked me to move because I was in the way, which I took the wrong way. The least I could do is give those staying here a chance to book. A table of 20 people arrived. No luck, I had booked the hotel because of the restaurant (there were only two of us). In addition, the room's soundproofing was poor; we could hear everything going on in the hallway. I slept badly, and I found the price comparable to other hotels I've stayed in this week. I'm very disappointed...

22/07/2025: Came here for dinner with a small group and got the cod, sea bass and fish cakes. Wowwwww the food was delicious! All the fish was so light and we watched them be hand battered. Fantastic for a quick dine in or takeaway

17/08/2025: Fab spot to stop for the best pancakes, lots of options for toppings sweet and savory! The cottage is beautiful and unique, there is also outdoor seating in a lovely garden area. This will definitely be a stop any time I’m near Kenmare/Killarney!

12/06/2025: Nice atmosphere and a small selection of house beers. Unfortunately, not all of them were tasty, as we're used to better ones in Germany. Still, it's worth a visit and trying a few. It's best to order 3 or 6 flights to try the different beers. You'll then receive 3 or 6 1/3 pints of your choice, respectively, for either €8 or €16.

22/08/2025: The staff was very nice and the food was absolutely delicious. The cherry cheesecake was the best cheesecake I’ve ever had. Overall I had an amazing experience and I would highly recommend this place to anyone who visits Dingle and admires nice seafood.

21/08/2025: Atmosphere is excellent, service is good. However food is only an average, overprice for what you got, was there on 2013, food was amazing back then, had it again few days ago when travelling in dingle, was actually very disappointed by the taste of it, nothing special

11/08/2025: We went there twice. The first time was on a Friday evening and the second time on a Sunday. The food was delicious both times, although the cheesecake wasn't the best choice. The service was fantastic on Friday. However, on Sunday it was apparently very busy, which was clearly noticeable to the staff.

10/08/2025: 20 years after my first visit: Food‘s still fantastic. The sticky toffee cake is a must. Great place!

25/07/2025: Had fish and chips and a pint of Guinness. The fish was miniscule, but the chip serving was generous. A small salad side order provided too. Good service. Paid €24. Felt cheated. Excellent view out over Tralee bay and Fenit harbour.

21/07/2025: Stopped in here for dinner last minute while in Castlegregory recently, literally rang 10 minutes before we arrived and they had a table reserved and ready for us. The service was incredible and the food was perfect. 2 people decided on the fish (battered and oven baked) and they said it was some of the best fish they've had in a while. I opted for the chicken burger and it was delicious. Has great indoor and outdoor eating options. Plus some cosy tables in the pub section. Although you can't beat the view out onto the bay from the restaurant/outdoor area. Plenty of parking behind the pub off the road and more across the road. It has a small kids playground attached to it next to the carpark. Highly recommended if you're looking for a bite to eat in the area.

05/08/2025: French bakery with exceptional pastries that feels like a Parisian cafe, it looks small but there's plenty of seating further back. The chocolate tart is so rich and decadent. The strawberry tart is light and sweet. The croissant is flakey and buttery and served with fresh jam. They also have traditional baguettes and savory bites to eat.
