22/06/2025: Looks like great technique and very pretty food , if a bit of a “ mousse” overload . Nice interior. Service was good. Food was … terrible to be honest. Poorly put together tastes. Too salty . Too Smokey . Too sharp . In short … unbalanced . Really didn’t enjoy the meal at all . Also at more than 100 euro a seat …. It was a rip off. Who the hell smokes a beautiful piece of halibut !!!! Poor .

25/05/2025: Rare indeed. Simply the finest meal in my 76 years on this planet. Pierre our host and sommelier was the epitome of gracious and knowledgeable. As a wine geek he answered every question about our five wines in depth. We had 7 courses and 18 separate tastes. The base of the menu is seafood with South Indian spices. Chef Meeran is classically trained in London but in the last two years has added his expertise in Indian spices. The result is out of this world. We feel blessed that we were able to get a booking at the last minute. Our guide books said Kinsale was a foodie heaven. I concur. The trout main dish was smoked in South Indian spices with a heavenly sauce. The tasting menu changes daily as does the wine pairings to match the courses.

31/01/2025: Best bar in the world! Best pint of Guinness I’ve ever had anywhere too. As authentic and wonderful as it gets. Don’t tell anyone…

02/01/2025: Had high hopes for this place but was sadly let down by the service. The lady who took out order was absolutely lovely but two members of staff seemed very unhappy to be there, and made us feel very uncomfortable. Twice they asked a little boy to stop "banging" the chair despite the fact that he clearly wasn't annoying anyone but them. When a party came in late asking to be seated for lunch they very rude to them saying " lunch is over but I suppose this once we can serve you" Never been made to feel so uncomfortable in an establishment in my life. Couldn't wait to get out of there to be honest. Such a pity. Must do better, Nook

06/08/2025: Right in the middle of the town. The macha latte (oat milk) and coffee is excellent here as are the home made croissants, pan au chocolate and scones. Place to sit down and enjoy the sound of the café available also. Ta very much Jo and team.

24/09/2024: The ultimate way you judge a restaurant is with it's food. Drove an hour on a tip. Food was just incredible and the chefs deserve as much praise as possible. Starter, Main, dessert were as good as each other. I didn't talk enough to my wife though because I couldn't stop enjoying the food. Still thinking about the Dahl.

24/08/2025: Would agree this is the best take away in Mallow. Staff are lovely and very friendly. The menu is very extensive and a huge selection from Pizzas to kebabs. I had a chicken kebab absolutely lovely. We never had a bad meal here. Worth a visit.

03/08/2025: Service has a lot to be desired. I asked for herbal tea, and waitress said they had berry tea but was unsure if it had caffeine. I ordered it with a glass of ice. I said if it had caffeine I would return it back. Black beard, a waiter with a grumpy face came out and slammed the teapot, cup and a glass of ice on the table causing a minor earthquake, and quickly vanished. I had a feeling he was angry at me. The time waiting for food was very lengthy and we almost canceled. Don't get the Nachos and food not great for price. Training in service etiquette is needed.

28/07/2025: Get the seafood platter!! Easily feeds two with a portion of chips. Delicious. A wide range of non-alc beers

16/07/2025: A solid five star review for Dinty's. The T-Bone steak is a must to order, absolutely deliciously cooked steak with a great portion of chips, possibly the best steak in Ireland without exaggeration. The waiters are very friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere of the pub is very warming, a nice authentic style pub with creative decor. There are plenty of food options, and the food is moderately priced. I would definitely come back to Dinty's when I get the chance, truly worth a try.

03/07/2025: We were staying at the attached house, very convenient and the pub was great. Nice pool table and dart board. The bartender was friendly and helpful with directions for the area.

30/08/2025: Update 2025 - £10 per head cover charge. Weekends are always busy. You do get the fresh roasted meat on weekends. Best get there early as they can run out of roast meat. It closes early on Sunday as it shares the entrance with the supermarket next door. This place is reasonable priced for what you get. You won’t get cheaper places other than Chinatown in London. Portions are generous and the flavours are close to what you can get in Hong Kong. The staff can be terse - do not expect silver service. I had worse service in Chinatown - London, Birmingham, Manchester. If you love roasted meat come to this place. The roast duck and roast pork is great. Carpark is under the supermarket 4 hours free parking (as of December 2022).

29/08/2025: Many people know their food and bakery but their cakes are amazing as well! It's the more 'old-fashion' traditional Hong Kong cakes, fresh cream, not very sweet. £18 for a one-pound cake, recommended for 4-6 people, we think easily for 6-8 people. It's an absolute bargain, as many insta-cakes sell for £35+ for the same size.

05/08/2025: The cinnamon rolls are incredible, doughy yet not heavy, flavoursome, warm and filling. Coffee is also first class with a really efficient serving process.

19/08/2025: Used to be a nice place to go for coffee but standards have slipped and the coffee not as good as it was

11/06/2025: Very nice place, I come here often. There's only been very rare occasions that the food and drink isn't good, but apart from that everything is great.

22/08/2025: Unfortunately, the lunch offerings were very limited, just a few toasties. But they also had mussels, and they were really great. Otherwise, a typical small-town Irish pub.

24/08/2025: Had vegetarian crunch wrap and chicken quesadilla here, Both were absolutely delicious!! Highly recommended. Staff is also very sweet and polite.
