26/05/2026: I got pretty bad mold exposure here while staying on the top floor of Ballynona. We stayed two nights, and the first was great - but it rained the next day and the following morning I woke up to a fully clogged nose and an irritated throat. I thought it was just seasonal allergies until looking back I realized it was mold. My symptoms dampened the rest of my Ireland trip unfortunately. The house is quite dated but pleasant otherwise, and the host was kind, just a little too political upfront.

12/05/2026: Not used to give 1 star but this is intentionally misleading. "Traditional" fish and chips is just a slab of frozen and processed fish, full of oil, and undercooked.

24/04/2026: Well now, where will I start, maybe the Korean BBQ wings, the only thing Korean about it was the word on the menu that spelled"Korean" the wedges with Swiss cheese were an experience I'm happy to forget, the best thing about it was the exit door, I'll go around the corner to oakfire its mediocre but definitely better, the girls behind the counter look tired and fed up,

06/05/2026: We stopped here one evening for food and were served one of the worst meals I've ever had the misfortune to consume. The fish was mushy under a tasteless batter, the chips were an equal mess of bland nothing. There was not one redeemable feature on offer, nobody finished anything. A sorry state of a chipper and I pity whatever poor misfortunates have to eat here next. Great location tbf, Leap is a very cute little village. In summary, avoid

23/04/2026: I go here once a week regularly. Good food, staff are kind and the food potion is generous. However, if we go around 7pm, they always start to clean and mopping. While we are eating, they mopping and the bleach smells disgusting and feel like eating bleach. They shouldn't do deep cleaning when customers are still eating. It is not very hygienic nor healthy. If they close at 7:30 sharp with deep cleaning, they should not get the customers till that time. Hope they can improve this then they deserve 5 starts.

13/04/2026: This place is great. Been coming here for years and there's a reason. The food is delicious. Small touches matter too, like the ginger scallion sauce which is not available everywhere.  Or soup with some noodles which used to be standard but many places have done away with. Its not fancy, but the portions are very decent and the food is honest. Hope they never change. Cannot ask for more. Bonus, you can get your cakes and buns here too. If I could come every week I'd be a happy bunny.

24/10/2025: This little gem is worth walking an extra 5 minutes from the main square. Visited first with a local and returned with my husband, who is very picky about his mochas. Lucky for us, Orla—the most gracious and wonderful barista—was there for both visits. In addition to her friendly demeanor, Orla serves up delicious coffee. Though the delights of Grounded Coffee are served from a cute little food truck, they offer plenty of seating… even a cozy, inside area with heat and comfortable seating. And there are great views too. Can’t wait to return!

17/05/2026: This estate and it's gardens are no longer open to the public. We attempted to visit but the gates were closed.

05/05/2026: Excellent chipper with fantastic friendly staff. Expensive buy easily up there with the best chipper food I've had.
