The best restaurants in Cork

26/08/2026: We decided to give Katch Oriental Food in Bandon another try since the business has recently changed ownership, and we were pleasantly surprised by the value on offer. They currently have a great online deal for €20 called the Dinner for 1, which includes any starter, any chicken or beef main, a side of rice or chips, and a can of soft drink. There were three of us ordering, so we each went for the deal. I had the dumplings with soy sauce, chicken Thai green curry, fried rice and Diet Coke. The dumplings were tasty and the soy dipping sauce was lovely. The Thai green curry was also very good. Eric had the chicken satay skewers, chicken in black bean sauce, fried rice and Diet Coke. The satay had a lovely flavour, but unfortunately the chicken was extremely chewy and the texture actually made it feel as though it hadn't been fully cooked. Because of that, it wouldn't be something I'd order again. The black bean sauce and fried rice were both good, though. Dad had the chicken cheese spring rolls, chicken curry, chips and Diet Coke. The chicken cheese spring rolls were delicious and the curry was good too. The chips were okay, although they could have done with a little more cooking. We were also given a small complimentary bag of prawn crackers, which was a nice gesture, although unfortunately most of them seemed quite soft and stale. Overall, there were some definite hits and a couple of misses. The €20 deal is very good value, and the curries, dumplings and chicken cheese spring rolls were all enjoyable. Hopefully the issues with the satay chicken and prawn crackers were just a one-off, as there is definitely potential here following the change of ownership.

17/06/2026: We arrived here to find the pub closed. We asked around and apparently it isn't often open. Don't be fooled by the opening times given.

28/08/2026: This pub already existed when the Titanic docked in Cobh. Today it's frequented by dockworkers. I recommend it for an authentic Irish experience. The elderly lady who runs it is very friendly.

06/08/2026: Oldest pub in Cobh, friendly, right after work, a group of friends in their fifties sharing a pint and the service is pleasant. Worth a visit.

27/09/2026: A real gem 💎 Food amazing. Had for one example the Banoffie Pie for desert .. it had a most beautiful crumb as its base with slices of banana toffee and just enough cream 👏🏻 Not sharing next time 😆😆 Staff so kind made my lovely sisters birthday so special 🎁 thanks to all in Breens 👏🏻👏🏻

24/09/2026: This is a great restaurant. I didn’t book but I was fitted in without fuss and welcomed. The food is wonderful. There’s a good choice and I would have easternmost of the Menu but I opted for stuffed field mushrooms -really good- followed by fresh fish- really good as well. I somehow found room for pudding. Which was fantastic

23/07/2026: Tight space so you might wait a bit if the driver ahead of you went inside to pay and decided it was a good time to get a soft-serve ice cream. Even so, the friendliness of the employees makes up for it. I would happily go to this fuel station again.

14/10/2026: The coffee (cappuccino) is amazing, which is especially unique in my experience in Ireland.

18/08/2026: The coffee is strong with great flavor!!!!! Perfect flat white! Awesome seating upstairs. Love the atmosphere!!

24/02/2026: Nice country pub atmosphere with a fire lite stove. The service was professional. I ordered a steak which was overcooked first and was taken back, then it was undercooked on the second attempt. I ended up getting a burger and chips which I wasn’t charged for which I felt was the good way of dealing with the situation.

21/02/2026: Best meal of our trip to Ireland, and we ate many good meals. The blade steak was TO. DIE. FOR. The toffee cheesecake dessert, mouthwatering. The staff was friendly and accommodated our questions. We stumbled upon this place, and boy are we thankful we did!!

13/04/2026: I had a very pleasant experience at Istanbul Bites. The food was of high quality, and the overall atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming. The staff were courteous and attentive throughout our visit. I would particularly like to appreciate their kind gesture of offering a complimentary juice to my son, as well as providing a discount. Such thoughtful service reflects their commitment to customer satisfaction. I would be happy to recommend this place to others.

13/12/2025: Amazing food 5 of us ate and everyone was more than happy. Steak was so tasty and cooked to perfection the mushroom was unbelievable onky thing I would improve on was the chips. Some way too crunchy but overall delicious. Staff are very friendly was a lovely lunch. Will be back.
