31/08/2025: Very friendly chippy:) First time I had curry sauce with my chips;) Cod was too soft/ mushy, lacked the traditional texture, batter too oily.

31/08/2025: Fish and chips were good, plenty of them but the wait was horrendous! People queueing for 30-40 mins for food despite plenty behind the counter, don't know why there was such a delay!

24/08/2025: Almost €23 for fish (cod) chips peas Pepsi max and a bottle of water. Can't blame the takeaway it's the cost of living today that's the problem. The service here was super quick and the cod was cooked very well nice and flakey falling apart nicely. Batter could be a little bit less crispy at the ends. I suppose it just depends on how it's dipped. The food was delicious no oil or grease and the chips were big chunky soft and filling cooked brilliantly. Nice portion of large fresh peas in a bowl as a side. Prices are high but you can't rate the food, service and quality on the cost of living here in Ireland that we are all suffering with. Very busy nice table service and also the takeaway option has lots of selections. Great food portions and a very tasty meal.

23/06/2025: Incredible place. But a stifling hot room - with heating on and, madder still, fires lit at midsummer - meant that we couldn’t sleep and ended up walking around the grounds until 2am (which was magical). Coupled with disorganisation and poor communication with and between the staff meant for a chaotic stay. At this price it should be perfect. I offered the opportunity to discuss privately with a manager, but they never called back.

20/07/2025: I usually enjoy coming here, but the service could be better organized. This morning, my coffee was ready but sat on the counter for around 5 minutes, and even after I asked, it took another 5 minutes before they realized it was mine. The staff looked tense, which made the experience not enjoyable.

13/07/2025: Excellent pub in the centre of Clonakilty. Thursday night beer, burgers and a quiz were a perfect evening in the summer sun.

17/06/2025: Lovely bar with outdoor seating. Great selection of beers. Food truck is on site from time to time, Yellow Submarine food is top notch.

11/09/2025: The food was delicious. The service not good, sorry. No hello or thank you from the owner. We felt very unwelcome. Took a table that was just used. Owner never even wiped it down for us. We understand his been very busy (maybe shorthanded on staff?), but we are very friendly and definitely didn't deserve such rudeness. But, again, food was excellent! Thank you! Ciao!!

18/08/2025: I adore Tony's restaurant. It has been a few years since my wife and I had been there due to relocation, but we are so delighted to have returned and brought extra people to join us and enjoy also. Generous, crisp and fresh bruschetta and salad, fritto mistos, carbonaras, salmon pasta and wine and banoffi to compliment after. Smiles and warmth from Tony to us and our friends, and he had no issue opening up the restaurant waiting on us himself. We called ahead to make sure we could book our table. We will visit again as soon as we can. Thank you Tony!

15/07/2025: Moby Dick’s in Youghal serves one of the best pints of Guinness around — smooth, perfectly poured, and just €5.70. The food is equally impressive: hearty, high-quality, and exactly what you want from a proper Irish pub. Add in the warm, historic atmosphere and genuinely friendly staff, and you’ve got a place that hits all the right notes. A must-visit if you’re in the area. Kevin and Breda are the wonderful owners who are the most kind and helpful people.

30/09/2024: We ate twice at O’Connor’s whilst visiting Bantry - breakfast and diner - with a large and small family group. Our Aunt Margaret loves O’Connors so we skipped mass and headed over for a hearty breakfast. We had a large crowd over and O’Connor’s, who were very busy, were superb in accommodating our booking. Service was fast and attentive, the staff lovely even though they were rushed off their feet. Luckily Margaret had booked and we saw many people turned away. O’Connor’s is clean and modern, a lovely place that has a great atmosphere and the staff take time to chat, again, despite being busy. Portions are great and because I arrived a little late, the O’Connor’s team sorted me a fantastic gluten free bacon sandwich. A couple of nights later, we went for dinner with a smaller group and it was very good. We sat in the covered area out side and it felt very cosmopolitan, Brilliant restaurant, family friendly and good value. The key selling point is the fantastic staff. I understand it’s up for sale and the challenge for new owners will be matching how good this place is. Lovely people, good food and brilliant service.
