The best restaurants in Cork

01/07/2025: We discovered this wonderful pub during our Ireland road trip and what a fantastic find it was! The Anchor Bar is tucked away on a steep street, well off the beaten tourist path - which is exactly what makes it so special. This is where you experience authentic Irish pub atmosphere: cozy and rustic with beautiful maritime décor that perfectly suits Cobh. But the absolute highlight is the stunning view over the bay - simply breathtaking! The prices are very reasonable and the barkeeper (a genuine Liverpool fan) was incredibly warm and welcoming. We had wonderful conversations not only with him but also with the other locals - these are the moments that create the best travel memories. Anyone visiting Cobh who wants to experience an authentic Irish pub away from the tourist crowds should definitely stop by here. Highly recommended!

13/10/2025: Horrible experience. The service is good. Food is extremely bad, it just looks good. No flavour. We ordered their special of the day - yakisoba noodles. It was plain noodle. The beef burger is good, but not filling. The fish and chips, there was no flavour for the fish. The quantity was also less for all the food we ordered. Paying a lot for this food, not worth it at all. Plus, right after having this food, my friend and I ended up having an upset stomach!! Definitely not great rushing to the restroom every now and then. Horrible experience overall. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

15/09/2025: There were four of us and we were shown to a table after a short wait. The view of the sea was lovely, the interior was fine, although a bit worn in places. The food depended on what you got; it ranged from perfectly good to unseasoned. The Chicken Supreme was okay, and the pike was also okay, although unfortunately, the fish in the fish and chips was very bland. Unfortunately, the service wasn't very attentive: we were never asked if everything was OK, we had to be reminded twice about the bill, and the waitress didn't seem very welcoming either. It's a shame, our expectations were higher; we won't be coming back.

02/10/2025: The owner is an absolute gent, every time you go it he always has a smile and is up for a chat. I've tried here many times now and I have yet to find one of their bakes that isn't good. Well worth a visit

08/08/2025: We ordered our wedding cake from messy buns and 100 cupcakes the guests loved all of it and it all looked and tasted amazing 😍 thank you messy buns.

14/09/2025: The Hangout was better until recently. The chicken wrap is good. The quality of the beef in the Dirty Monster burger has definitely dropped in the past few months. It used to be a lovely burger. The chips are just terrible here. So many that just aren't cooked properly. I don't think I would order chips here again. The guys serving in there are sound. But I wish they would cook the chips properly. Nothing worse than biting into a raw potato chip when it looks cooked. I would always ignore any 'good' reviews that have only ever reviewed one or two places.

13/07/2025: A typical Irish pub, serving both beer and food. Closed on Tuesdays. They have a good selection of beers. If you don't specify, they'll give you a Heineken. There's a bit of a wait for the food, but the soup of the day is excellent, though I didn't take a photo.

08/12/2024: Quality café that is in the centre of Bantry. It has a lovely atmosphere, very friendly staff and top quality produce.

31/10/2024: Had an absolutely beautiful toasted special here today. Really fresh ingredients. One of the nicest I've had in a very long time!

09/08/2025: Enjoyed a perfectly cooked full breakfast, at a refreshingly reasonable price with tea included (Barrys!). A rarity in that it's a old school proper cafe, nice and clean with a good atmosphere with great staff.

02/08/2025: Lovely breakfast, Food was very nice, coffee was very nice and hot very nice breakfast. Most of the girls lovely and good service.
