05/04/2026: Staff member at the drive thru this evening, Easter Sunday, cannot count. Told me I was a €1 short, then told me I was €0.10 short. I told him to count it again, for a third time, as it was correct.

15/03/2026: My name is brendan Hughes and I had a table booked-confirmed and paid for on Thursday 12 March. When I arrived on Sat 14 to fulfill my appointment the staff were unable to find it but eventually the lady behind the counter must have found some reference to it and told us Table2. We were shown to a table beside a fire. There were two of us and the table was the size of a Singer sowing machine. We are not small people could not possibly eat while seated side by side. So I asked the lady could she possibly seat us at a larger table and she refused. When I tried to reason with the lady she accused me of raising my voice. So not only were we treated with utter contempt we got no meal because we could not eat in such a crowded situation..having driven from Dublin was not great. This lady had no manners or respect for customers. I would not recommend this place unless you want to be insulted. Her attitude was do it her way or leave----so we left. Faulty Towers comes to mind for the bad manners.

13/03/2026: Rather hidden, but food worth the search. Good menu based on fresh local ingredients especially fish, presentation simple yet nicely innovative. Good wine list. Service rapid and friendly.

05/01/2026: This is the most delicious Italian restaurant I've ever seen. The staff is very friendly. The portions are generous. The meals are very well prepared. I highly recommend it.

17/03/2026: I recently stayed for one night at Berehaven Lodge Pods with my family, and it was a truly memorable experience. Set on an expansive eleven-acre property, the retreat offers breathtaking views overlooking Bere Island and Berehaven Harbour, creating a peaceful and scenic atmosphere that is perfect for a relaxing getaway. The location is ideal, just about five kilometers from the charming fishing town of Castletownbere on the beautiful Beara Peninsula. It provides a great balance between tranquility and accessibility, allowing visitors to explore the surrounding area with ease while enjoying a quiet retreat. The pod we stayed in was very cosy, clean, and thoughtfully designed. Despite its compact size, it had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The space was well maintained, and the overall setup made it feel warm and welcoming. It was also excellent value for money, especially considering the stunning location and peaceful environment. Spending time surrounded by nature, with panoramic views and fresh coastal air, made our short stay feel refreshing and special. It’s a perfect spot for families or anyone looking to unwind away from busy city life. Overall, we had a great experience and would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting West Cork.

17/03/2026: Berehaven Lodge is a lovely and comfortable place to stay with a peaceful atmosphere. The rooms are clean, cozy, and well-kept, making it a relaxing experience. The lodge also offers pods, which are a unique and enjoyable way to stay. The surrounding views are beautiful and add to the charm of the place

22/02/2026: We treated ourselves with a visit to this underrated hidden gem in West Cork. If you ever had visited Italy or ever had genuine Italian food …you know … we had antipasti, pasta, pizza and desert 😋. Everything was fresh and well balanced. The house red was a little disappointing but will return for the delicious food again, soon! We were very well looked after by friendly and attentive staff.

22/02/2026: Awful , it’s been a while since a posted anything but felt obligated.. frozen chips with mashed garlic potatoes with rubbery monkfish .. seriously I actually thought it’s harder to feck this up but they managed it ., Steak obviously overcooked and dry How it’s even allowed stay open with the conditions of the toilets .. no paper towels or hand dryers .. never again

10/04/2026: Fresh food, perfectly cooked and presented, served by friendly and efficient staff. What more could want. One of our favourite places to go in West Cork. Thanks Tina and Roxanne for always looking after us so we'll. Sean would be proud!!

06/04/2026: My brother and I went for a quick lunch, seafood chowder on Friday April 3rd. It was mainly cream and not much fish. As we were visiting our father who is from the area, he came in and paid the bill by card. The owner/manager asked him did he wish to leave a tip. My father asked if he had a tip jar. The owner/manager said there was a tin at the till and my father came and asked me did I have change. After we left, he noticed, there was a charge "Gratuity" He asked me was this tax, and I said that it had been a tip added to the bill. I wanted to go in, but my father did not want to make a fuss about it. I thought this was so sneaky, my dad is 82 and if it had have been a younger person would the manager/owner have pulled this one? Rachelle

27/07/2025: Always a lovely welcome from the staff! Quality products and large selection is brilliant. Would recommend the soup rolls unreal when fresh and still do 5 cream cakes for €9 about. Very good value.

02/01/2026: Fantastic dining experience. I think this place is known for its steaks but we ate everything BUT the steak and found the flavours to be phenomenal. Standouts from the menu were the dirty mash and hispi cabbage (sides), the duck breast (main) and the cauliflower (starter). Highly recommend eating here.

04/11/2025: Even though the setting is pleasant, the service is far from commensurate with the prices charged at this establishment... From the appetizer to the dessert, everything is just okay, and even less so when it comes to one of their specialties, the meat, which they don't seem to know how to cook properly... what a shame... only the slideshow (not included) allowed me to travel a little... One star nonetheless for the person who served us, who was very friendly and professional. I don't understand the other reviews; the 5 stars are not deserved given the quality/price ratio... I won't be going back.

18/12/2025: Came in late after a long day of travelling and arrived in near closing time. They were very accommodating to me and my partner, we had accommodation already sorted elsewhere but we had some food here and it was deadly. Owners very friendly and recommend us sights to see. Will be back when we visit skibbereen again.

27/08/2025: The campsite is well-kept and clean. Our expectations were higher based on the reviews and photos. Given the reviews, we thought there would be a restaurant, but there wasn't (August). The campsite is quiet and peaceful. There are no children's games or children's areas (at least not in the area reserved for camper/tent camping). Showers are included in the cost of the pitch. The owner was extremely kind. We had a great time. It was perfect for one night.

27/08/2025: This is a well run and fantastic location for all your caming needs. The on stie bar has food all evening with live entertainment and friendly staff. The facilities are top class with everything you need. Well done to all involved and I hope to return to the hills of Glengarriff soon. Many thanks Darren Roberts
