05/05/2026: A lovely experience, the room was spotless, pristine and had a gorgeous view out onto the nearby beach. The staff were wonderful, especially in the bar, serving food and always friendly, helpful and professional. Overall, a lovely welcoming break.

19/03/2026: Had my son's Confirmation meal at the hotel recently. My husband and I had visited the hotel and met with Jessica weeks prior. She showed us around the different private rooms and we picked Raleighs, a small private room at the back of the hotel. It was for a group of 10 people. We had other venues lined up and even though the Walter came in more expensive we decided to pay that bit extra for a private room and a nice atmosphere. We paid our 100 deposit that day and we were looking forward to the event. Roll on to my son's special day, we arrived at the hotel and I went to let reception know that we had arrived. We were then told that another family were in the room we booked. Then, a few excuses from other staff members were that it was because we were a smaller group. Another excuse was that construction work was going on outside the window of the room and another one was that the breakfast stuff was put in there that morning. We ended up sitting out in the lobby on a makeshift table. We felt like we were sitting in a hallway. People were passing us and children from other parties were running around our table and at one stage went in underneath our table. My husband complained to the duty manager who seemed very dismissive. Later when my husband was up at the bar he was told the round had no charge. This was for 3 alcohol beverages and 3 soft drinks. We left feeling very disappointed and embarrassed in front of our guests. My son kept asking why we were sitting in the lobby when we had booked a private room. The next day, I emailed the hotel to complain and though apologetic at first, all we got was excuses. No offer of anything else or any other goodwill gesture. If you want to have a special family occasion, look elsewhere. I would not recommend this hotel.

26/05/2026: Ordered fish and chips, fish was undercooked and the chips were hard, old and stale. The waitress was miserable, didn't smile once and didn't check to see if our food was okay once. I asked for ketchup, a normal request for a fish and chips dinner, and she brought me a half-filled tiny pot of ketchup. I asked for more ketchup and she did the same again. Really disappointing meal in what is a lovely town.

01/05/2026: I can honestly say that this was one of the best seafood meals that I have ever eaten. We started with the crab claws. Amazing. Then I got the monkfish. Even more amazing. Perfectly cooked. Truly could not have been better. My wife ordered the garlic prawns which were just as delicious. This place did not disappoint in even the slightest way.

17/05/2026: Small, family run restaurant just minutes from the main road. Limited menu, but what they have is very good. The speciality of the house is steak and it shows. The chocolate cake deserves a mention also. Great people and great food.

11/12/2025: Although we had no booking we were received in the VIP sit down area, and what an experience that was. The atmosphere was delightful and only bettered by the 5 star service we received. Incredible experience. The beef black bean was delicious. Would highly recommend.

10/02/2026: For the craic, do not miss out on stopping by Boston Bar if you are in Bantry. My husband and I had the pleasure of meeting Danny and his team on a Saturday in Feb, we walked in for one and stayed for the night. Great bunch and great craic

03/06/2026: Honestly, side street cafe is okay if your passing by. The food sometimes is nice and other times can be a little overcooked. The prices sometimes vary - the same meal can cost you €4 more one day than another - not sure why this is? I usually get myself an omelette and chips and it's normally nice. However, it is cooked on the one hot plate with all the other food, so the taste is heavily influenced by what is cooked previously (usually bacon). So my overall verdict is this, the staff, owner etc are lovely. However, the food isn't anything special and in recent months, I have noticed a change in service and quality. If you are looking for deli food to go, it's a good option. For anything else, it is hit and miss.

07/09/2025: Bring your own pillows and tvs are cheap with only a few channels but location is great and breakfast is good although coffee wasn’t so good

07/09/2025: The lobby on entering the hotel was fabulous. But as soon as we got to our room that’s where it ended. Bathroom was not clean, Stains around the bin on the floor, problem with the hose for the shower, kept popping off the shower head, silicone around shower base has mould on it. At €277 a night I thought we would have a mini fridge or cooler in the room but we didn’t.

10/06/2026: My go to for quick and simple meal in Kanturk, every time I am back I go at least once, they have been consistent for years and never fail. My first time back with my son and he was very happy with the choice and the lovely waiter who made him feel welcome.

05/04/2026: Staff member at the drive thru this evening, Easter Sunday, cannot count. Told me I was a €1 short, then told me I was €0.10 short. I told him to count it again, for a third time, as it was correct.
