We waited at the bar for around 20 minutes without being acknowledged. Despite approaching staff several times to ask about getting a table, we continued to be ignored. Unfortunately, we decided to leave.
28/09/2025: The food here was genuinely outstanding... chicken curry with half chips & rice - as good as anywhere Ive eaten. Superb / friendly service also.

25/10/2025: I like a good meal. By good I mean a masterclass in balance, complexity, good ingredients magnificently combined and prepared . . . Rare provided probably the best and most interesting meal I've ever had in Ireland. Wonderful subtle Indian hints brought to Cork produce. Absolutely wonderful!

I went to Rare to celebrate my birthday and was impressed with the treatment I received. They really made me feel special!!
I had a chef coming over to my table to explain every single one of the plates. It was great to learn the story behind the amazing flavour each one of the plates had.
The price falls into the high-end category, but if you enjoy a unique dining experience, I believe you won't regret visiting Rare.
