02/06/2025: On main Street in Kinsale this relaxing quiet fabulously decorated and bright peaceful cafe just away from the large crowds and queues for restaurants and takeaways. Is something very special the flying poet Cafe and serves fresh beautiful toasted sandwiches and at great value €8.00 for the filling, Tuna melt toastie. €3 euros for a small pot of tea is great value. The staff were fantastic and kind with a great atmosphere and clean surroundings. This Cafe is a must see it is done up with great photos and memorabilia from the aviation industry. I would honestly pay an entry fee it was so memorizing and interesting. Great experience great affordable food.

05/07/2025: Great food selection, which focuses on having local ingredients. We had a beef burger and shrimps, both of which were fresh and delicious. The manager/owner was also very attentive and made an effort to make sure we had all we need. Atmosphere wise, the place is authentic, many locals and families visiting, and conveniently located in Allihies.

30/03/2025: We had a lovely meal there last week. I had chicken supreme with the most divine black pudding mash. Really lovely and my husband had very nice ravioli with sticky toffee pudding for desert. I would recommend for this price bracket.

19/01/2025: Came to Cascada last night for my birthday dinner. We had a wonderful time! Everything from the service, the food and the atmosphere was just perfect. Our waitress went out of her way to make a special 007 drink for my brother who was delighted! Thanks again!

12/10/2024: We had the most amazing time! We were with a group of twelve and were treated to a spectacular day. Kathleen the proprietor was a delight. She showed many in our group how to pour a proper pint and fixed us the most lovely lunch. She was very kind and accommodating, this was definitely the highlight of our trip.

10/07/2025: The owner was extremely rude to us and spoke down to the young waiting staff. I was incredibly put off by her. The food was fine, but nothing special.

09/07/2025: Absolutely lovely gem of a spot. Great service, everyone was so kind and even helped call me a taxi after I missed my bus. The restaurant itself was very pretty and quaint and had very nice and well kept restrooms. And of course, the food was incredible. The fish was so so fresh and the side salad was a proper salad, not just a few pieces of lettuce and carrot like at most places where you get a side salad with fish and chips. It had apple, watermelon, beets, and great dressing. And the chips were great and both the breaded and steamed fish was delicious. The dessert was also amazing. Such moist cakes and the gluten free option was so good as well. 10/10. Would absolutely come here again and hope that other travelers stumble upon it!!
