02/02/2026: Top class and most accommodating. Even better this bank holiday weekend, than when I was last there. Service fantastic, management should be proud of their staff. Nicest roast beef I ever had in a meal out. Keep up the excellent work.

01/02/2026: The food was extremely disappointing and clearly in need of major improvement. We ordered the rice bowls, which were shockingly bland and entirely lacking in flavour—so much so that a basic meal thrown together at home would have been far superior. The desserts were equally poor and felt like an afterthought rather than a finished product. Even the pints were substandard. While the 15–20 minute wait time was understandable given how busy the venue was, it did nothing to excuse the consistently low quality of what was served

02/02/2026: No stars because oh my god the absolute rudeness was just next level. I returned my salmon as it was not cooked. And waited over 25 minutes thinking they were obviously going to return it and cook it properly. So my two friends that were with me had eaten well a bit of what they'd ordered while I waited and waited. After 25 minutes I went up and said to a lovely young lady how I was still waiting on my food and she didn't know what was happening with it. So we went up to pay and asked where my food was to which the response was they were not going to inform me that they were refusing to cook it and had just left me sitting there with no food. There excuse was I was being awkward. They were extremely rude and the older blonde lady up by the tills gave me a dirty look and kept staring me down. Im absolutely appalled and will not be recommending this place to anyone im so hurt and disappointed and dissatisfied absolutely shocking. Incredibly rude

28/07/2025: I always stop at Rohu's Country Market on my way to West Cork. The sandwiches and pizzas are fantastic, and the fresh food and bread are absolutely delicious. I love this place!

31/12/2025: So pleased with this gem on Main Street on the Waterford side of Youghal. Just before Christmas after peak lunch hour, we went for a taste of what Red Store had to offer. We were not disappointed. Two of our party had the pork (one of the specials), one Thai chicken curry and one had the 6oz steak. Food came out piping, and was just poetry on a plate. Desserts of jelly and ice cream, warm apple pie and strawberry cheesecake followed. Pork was succulent but where was the apple sauce (small over sight) and the well done steak was a ‘good tender enjoyable chew’ but missed the onions. Thai chicken curry had a tickle of spice and just right fit portion of rice. The hot Apple pie with ice cream had a perfect measured level of sweetness and softness ( no tough crust). Strawberry cheesecake was not served as a slice but in a wine goblet with dust crumbled biscuit for base and a very strawberry moussy top that was peaked with faux cream. Service was friendly and there was a lovely casual atmosphere to the place with conversation at normal decibel level being feasible. At time of visit / local artist Pauline Neville’s works were on display and her nearby art gallery is very much worth a visit. Great showing!!

22/12/2024: As others have mentioned, it doesn't look like much, but there's so much heart in this place. Wonderful owner, and lots of great events that are all about bringing people together. Some of the best nachos you can get.

10/11/2025: Had a lovely and intimate wedding in the Seaview House Hotel. Ronan and Lidia were so helpful during the build up to the wedding and the whole team were absolutely flawless on the day. 10/10 would strongly recommend for a special intimate wedding or just for a weekend get away. The hotel, grounds and food are stunning.

13/08/2025: I had the opportunity to stop in during my late travels at the Seaview House Hotel & Spa, on Oct 16, 2019. I would call it a manor rather than a house, with its beautiful gardens and historically themed interior. Not far from the property, you can take a walk along the shoreline and take in panoramic views unlike any you've seen before. I was fortunate they had availability, as I arrived late that night, but the accommodations were no less than expected. The following morning, I had a chance to dine in the breakfast hall and enjoy a freshly cooked breakfast. I had the company of other guests, one of whom stood out a young woman with her daughter sitting at the table next to mine. Her daughter was like a young duckling, full of life, so to speak. The hotel itself, along with its staff, went far beyond expectations. I would have loved to stay longer, but I needed to attend to my business endeavours. If you're looking for a quiet, family-oriented spa retreat, there's nothing quite like stopping in at the Seaview House Hotel & Spa a true country inn, if you will for anyone in need of relaxation.

26/10/2025: Had a nice lunch, the menu was pretty extensive with plenty of options. I thought the pricing was very reasonable and the girls that were serving us were really pleasant and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Easy to recommend this place.

30/10/2025: A fabulous dining experience at restaurant Chestnut. We had the four course set taster menu with wine pairing. From the warm greeting and service from Elaine and team to the DELICIOUS food prepared by Rob and the kitchen team the experience was incredible. The food was thought provoking and very tasty, Thank you 🙏

30/10/2025: Had the most amazing experience at The Chestnut Restaurant. The staff were so welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable of all their produce and dishes. We couldn't fault anything we ate and the wine pairing was fabulous too. Yes! It's not cheap but you know why when you taste the delights they offer.

29/01/2026: Really nice bar, open fire, quaint, great food and reasonably priced. The nicest cup of tea I've had in a long while. Lovely atmosphere, nice music and excellent service. Definitely recommend, whether it be for pints or food
