04/10/2025: Duck gyros were lovely as starter Chicken wings starter big portion with a sweet taste Steak sandwich for main was cooked to perfection - steak just pulled apart and the ciabatta was crispy Steak with chips for main was also perfectly cooked Snickers cheesecake was unique Baked Alaska was perfectly done with ice cream and tangy fruit in the centre Wait staff were friendly especially the man who waited our table Would recommend

29/08/2025: Came to clonakilty camping and ate out twice before we discovered Whales Tail OMG it’s worth travelling here just to eat the food the other time atmosphere the setting indoors and outside is just amazing Irene was in total control and with such a pleasant attitude to customers and staff ensuring both guests and staff enjoyed being there Billy in the kitchen ensured exceptional service and an interesting menu full of variations for us to enjoy We came once and returned the following night before we went home we can’t recommend enough if you’re in Clonakilty don’t miss out on a wonderful experience

28/07/2025: I always stop at Rohu's Country Market on my way to West Cork. The sandwiches and pizzas are fantastic, and the fresh food and bread are absolutely delicious. I love this place!

03/08/2025: Lovely & friendly restaurant. Visited on a Bank holiday Sunday morning. It’s was busy, the young male staff member was full of chat, took the order as requested and food arrived with in a few minutes . Will call again for breakfast when passing through Mitchelstown. Food was also very nice.

13/07/2025: A regular meal stop whenever l am passing. The food is always excellent and the service by the staff is equally good.

09/08/2025: Excellent food, and such generous quantity! The staff were so welcoming, and they helped set up our toddler with a kids table. We stopped for breakfast on our way to Skibbereen and my 70-year-old dad (a local) claimed it was the best Irish breakfast he’s ever had. Scones and scrambled eggs - with superb tomato relish - were also excellent. The garden out back is worth staying for an extra cuppa.

07/10/2025: I ordered the Fresh Prawn Cocktail as a starter and the Surf & Turf (steak fillet with prawns) as my main course. Unfortunately, both dishes were quite disappointing. Dessert (Oreo cheesecake) was lovely. The prawn cocktail looked nice on the plate, but the prawns didn’t taste fresh and lacked flavor. The dressing didn’t complement the seafood at all, it was bland and uninspired. The main course didn’t redeem the experience either. The steak was overcooked, chewy, and lacked any seasoning. It was served with the same prawns from the starter, which made the dish feel repetitive rather than indulgent. For the price and reputation of the place, I expected a much higher standard. The restaurant itself is charming, and the staff were polite, but the food simply didn’t deliver. 📍Verdict: Beautiful presentation, but no flavor. Definitely not worth the price

06/10/2025: Hotel and room was good, but during my stay the lift was note working, which is not so well, if your room is on the third floor. Breakfast and staff were wonderful!

17/10/2025: We arrived without a booking and 5 of us were accommodated without fuss where the staff were already under pressure. Food was outstanding and attention to detail from the staff was above and beyond what was expected despite being ran off there feet. Highly recommended and staff to be proud of. Will be back

17/10/2025: Yum... in fact Yummy... all round good stop.. fallafel i think she said.. ,And at €9 i wanted to hate it, but given the overheads of kinsale and costs of produce, you gotta grin and bear it, and this looked tasty, totally didnt disapoint, mushy tasty falafel with kinda crispy cabbage and juicey sauce, with a soft bap torpedo roll thing that tasted as fresh as her smile looked... total worth it.. took away so cant review atmosphere, but all was pleasing.... thumbs up... tasty bakery... ill try the danish next trip... ☆

04/09/2025: Had a lovely lunch here recently. Home made sourdough baguette was really nice. We were given a complimentary little cheese board. All cheeses were delicious. Highly recommend a visit👌

09/09/2025: We used to go here often as kids with our family. But it had been a long time since we visited. We recently dined here and I personally won't be returning. I ordered the beef without realising the price (€28) as I had seen it was an option and beef is my go to in other restaurants so I automatically ordered it. There was no flavour to any of the food. The mash and veg were bland, the beef was bland and slightly tough and the gravy was bland and thick. I honestly can't understand how they charge so much for this when plenty of other restaurants serve beef for much less and it is much nicer to eat too.
