The best restaurants in Cork

02/04/2026: We visited the restaurant during our vacation and asked for a table without a reservation, which initially seemed to be no problem. The food was very tasty, but the portions were very small for the price. Side dishes had to be paid for separately. Afterwards, we ordered dessert and cappuccino. We had barely finished eating when we were asked to pay and leave, as the table was immediately being given to other guests. Double bookings are something we understand and are fine with. However, being asked to leave so quickly without any prior notice was unprecedented. I cannot recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a pleasant evening in a nice atmosphere.

21/03/2026: Very expensive for a míni dish of food and a bottle of wine. Poor service and poor food as well. Kind staff is the only thing what i can say about the place.

27/07/2025: Always a lovely welcome from the staff! Quality products and large selection is brilliant. Would recommend the soup rolls unreal when fresh and still do 5 cream cakes for €9 about. Very good value.

09/06/2025: Only available for a tour of the house. Beautiful grounds, very well-maintained garden. The house is clearly in need of renovation, but that doesn't detract from its charm. Unfortunately, no photos allowed inside.

15/05/2026: We found this place by chance when looking for somewhere to have lunch. It was excellent. We had the daily special which was Hake with brown rice, which was great for me as I have diabetes. We also had two glasses of excellent wine and desserts. Coffee was good, as was the service. Worth a visit if you’re in Skibbereen.

23/08/2025: Ordered an oat matcha, was handed one with cows milk. I noticed the odd taste straight away. After I asked for another one, the matcha they handed me was brown and only tasted of syrup. Very disappointing.

14/07/2025: Lovely cookie hot chocolate and a big one too, had a nice apple tart also. The place is nice and quiet when I visited and service was good.

26/10/2025: Have been there a couple times recently for family events great selection of Malaysian and Asian dishes as well as steaks and seafood service and atmosphere are excellent

12/05/2026: Very good accommodation. Nice Chinese restaurant within the hotel. Easy walk to the harbour. Rooms were quite clean and the person on reception is friendly and gives local recommendations. We stayed for two nights and absolutely loved our stay.

26/04/2026: Upon arrival yesterday we were very kindly asked if we wanted to see two available rooms, one upstairs and one downstairs, we chose the higher floor as it would have a seafront view. The seafront is visable from room 12 but I wouldn't pull a camera out as it's a very congested view with buildings in the way. The beds are god awful, ridiculously cheap overly hard spring mattresses that regardless of what the hotel has claimed in other reviews are quite obviously trash. I can see people from 4 years ago complained, I made the mistake of thinking the hotel would have listened to their feedback from multiple people, that's on me, however anyone thinking of a romantic get away with privacy can forget it. You could hear everything going on from the front door up the stairs and up another flight of stairs to reach room 12. I'm deaf in one ear and still could hear everything through the paper thin walls, things eventually quietened down around 4:45. Personally I do not blame the staff at all, the owners or whoever is in charge of furnishings needs a boot. Anyone with a bad back stay far away...danger lurks here and it's unavoidable.

23/01/2026: I love coming here every time I visit Fermoy. My favourites would be the sweet and sour chicken. You cannot go wrong, everything is yummy.

31/12/2025: Latest Edit: Gave it another go just now, the sweet and sour chicken was so watered down! The 'sauce' was so watery! The chicken pieces were soggy since they could just absorb so much from the 'sauce' .. it seriously tasted like dishwater and the soggy chicken was stringy :/ talk about a nose dive in quality Edit: Over the last year or so, the dishes seem to be a bit watered down. My most recent order involved getting a call from their delivery driver telling me the €5 delivery charge should be €7.50 because I was living 200meters past his personal cutoff point for €5. For a €75 order, it's a bit nit picking and bad form. They should contact their online ordering site on this if it's that much of an issue for them and their driver. Cancelled my order and will go elsewhere from now on.
