The best restaurants in Cork

16/08/2025: We stopped in this port and found wonderful Irish hospitality and ice cold beer at this wonderful bar.. Highly recommend stopping in for a cold one! Great outdoor space surrounding the bar as well with the view of the water.

28/08/2025: Went in to enquire if they have anything that is gluten and dairy free as my partner has intolerances to both. The server was incredibly rude as she handed me a menu and said “there you go now you can make up your own mind” and then turned to her colleague at the bar and muttered something under her breath. The menu didn’t have allergens listed, except for just saying GF on one or two dishes. Her attitude was so unwelcoming I just walked back out the door. It was disheartening as most other restaurants around were closed and myself, my partner and young baby had been walking around Castletownbere for an hour trying to find somewhere for dinner. The place was half empty so no excuse to not even check with the kitchen re allergens, it also doesn’t take much to be kind, or at least to not be so rude

31/07/2025: Coffee served in dirty cups and saucers .. when asked for clean cups which we received 5 minutes later, the same coffee was in it … not hot or fresh! Not good.

19/12/2024: This place has just changed its name to A&T Luxflavor ..had breakfast here today .. Service was good. but the food was muck. Sausage bacon hash brown beans and mushroom .. toast and the worst cappuccino i have ever tasted .. The place was empty at lunchtime, and now i can see why...The cheap produce that was our breakfast could have been anything. .. It was totally tasteless.. including the crap coffee. We wont be returning

10/12/2024: A very nice place with a pleasant atmosphere. The staff is always friendly, and the service is excellent. It’s a place you want to come back to again and again. Highly recommend!

29/04/2025: The worst Chinese restaurant I have been to, mainly because of the quality of the food. We went in April, family gathering, 10 of us. Ordered the €46 all in for everyone. The satay chicken? What is that? Shredded I don’t know what? Not for human consumption. Same product in chicken dishes. Taken home by one of the party in a take home container. Could not identify the next day. When charging outrageous prices, you at least have to provide quality food. I gave this restaurant one star. It doesn’t even deserve that. One very unhappy customer that attended a family reunion in April.

26/06/2025: We often stop at Firgrove Hotel for the carvery on our travels between Dublin and West Cork but today 26th June was a very poor offering. I asked the grumpy chef/waiter for a small plate of roast beef please and he gave me one of the thinnest slices of beef he could possibly cut. The turnip and carrots were watery and tasteless and there were no greens. The chicken was burnt! I told the cashier that it was more like a quarter portion and she said she would only charge me for a childs portion. Someone needs to talk to the chef/waiter about customer service and his attitute problem or people will vote with their feet. 👎
