04/09/2025: The food was just okay, definitely not great. But it was finished quickly.

14/07/2025: Instead of a restaurant there was a take away, the staff could be more friendly 😞

11/01/2026: My partner and I had lunch here recently, things started out well, with an excellent pint of Chieftain craft beer, and a cosy fire on a cold January day, but what a disappointment the food was. My roast beef was overdone, served with just mash and boiled carrots and cauliflower, no sign of the other trimmings you might expect, roast potatoes? Yorkshire pudding? Horseradish sauce? The gravy was dismal and tasted only of packet gravy browning. Won't be eating here again.

14/09/2025: The pizza is really good but the chips don't have any salt which is annoying but the rest was all good

24/08/2025: Order was wrong, staff was rude and argued with me when I called and claimed I was lying about how long we were waiting for delivery and then asked for the food back to verify it was wrong before replacing it🤣🤣not to mention it took almost an hour and a half to deliver and then replaced only half the food so the other half was cold👏👏👏

15/01/2026: Had a nice pint of Guinness here. Friendly staff and customers. They also have a small but nice outdoor seating area. Nice music, not too loud but still loud enough to create a good vibe. Beware of the rule of non-paying customers not being allowed to stay. It looks like even if you're a part of a paying group but aren't getting anything for yourself, you'd be asked to leave.

15/11/2025: The presumed owner is absolutely miserable. Went in tonight and sat in the corner with my wife at a little 2 person table while I had a pint and she had a water (she’s pregnant) before we went home for the night. We were only there about 20 minutes and I was more than halfway through my pint when the owner came over and told us if we’re not both spending money then we had to leave. In all my 35 years of visiting pubs all over Ireland I’ve never ever seen this sort of behaviour. If the owner is reading this just know you are miserable and you alienated a pregnant woman

02/10/2025: If you see this after googling Pizza in midleton there is definitely takeaways of better quality and value within the area. The pizzas are average at best, comparable to 4 star or dominos. Grand after a few pints kind of pizza

16/10/2025: Food is good when they get the order right , countless times had a simple order of a chicken curry 4in1 and everytime it is chicken satay , we mention it everytime we go in but no change

10/10/2025: The food amd staff were beyond pleasant you definitely wouldn't be left hungry after ordering from here! I ordered a munchy box and a 4 in 1 the portion sizes are massive this was between 4 people and we could barely finish it I could never be disappointed ordering from City Palace. And the staff are so friendly and patient.

25/09/2025: Ok for a quick bite and that's what it's meant to be. Sandwichs on sliced pan belongs in the past.

05/01/2026: One of the worst Biryani we ever tasted in Ireland. The rice was grainy, no taste at all and chicken was under cooked. Oily prawn fry and not so tasty chicken tikka. The portion size was small but the price was expensive. Have a second thought before trying this restaurant!!

15/11/2025: The food was excellent. The restaurant was nice and warm and very clean. Service leaves a lot to be desired. We were forgotten about for about 15 minutes after we were shown to our table, and a customer next to us had to give us an alternative menu. We had to wait for over half an hour for the food to be served after we ordered it. It also seemed as if the staff were having a bit of a disagreement amongst themselves

24/09/2025: The food here is outstanding! Crispy, perfectly cooked fish and chips that were as fresh as it gets. The shop was spotless, and even though we came in late in the evening with a group of 11 people, Antonio handled everything with ease, patience, and a smile. Before we stopped in, our group was frustrated from a late night issue with our accommodations. Antonio immediately stepped in, took care of us, and completely saved the day from turning into a horrible travel experience. We enjoyed the amazing fish and chips over a pint or two of amazing Guinness across the street. It’s rare to find someone who puts this much heart into both the food and the people. His genuine hospitality turned a stressful night into one of the highlights of our trip. If every business owner was like him, the world would be a better place.

30/08/2025: Not great. The southern fried chicken was really nice, but ya can't have frozen chips in a chipper.

14/12/2025: Absolutely awful breakfast , for 3 of us this week....waffles we're not homemade or fresh, they were dried out and hard and tasted like lumps of sugar, totally inedible...as were the rasher, so thin/hard/tasteless... My friends full Irish fry was awful, with roast potatoes, not suitable for fry, sausage greasy and tasteless...we got lattes too to drink...omg, 2 glasses of hot watery milk, not a taste of coffee in it....€12 for fry€3.90 for latte....so so disappointing to pay for food and this is what is served to us....unfortunately the owner, woman who served us, had no personality , was ignorant and rude to me, and embarrassed me in front of customers with her attitude 😑

10/01/2026: Chish N Fips is a well needed “fast food” option in the small town of Crosshaven. This chipper has so many delicious options for your cheat day. The prices are reasonable and there’s a good variety for such a small place. I’ve had the garlic and cheese chips, curry chips, chicken fingers, onion rings and fish and all are great. Just know that there’s only outdoor seating here but it’s a lovely space for a warmer day!
