02/04/2026: Lovely staff, very welcoming, caring and accommodating, fairly varied menu. Reasonable value and tasty food, chips were fab. Varied desserts looked amazing.

06/12/2025: Daily specials can be very poor cooking, my 12 yr old would do better .Not recommended. The amateurish menu board says it all. Management need to visit some properly run establishments to see how it's done. Avoid the lasagne n chips, greasy tasteless. Youghal deserves better.

29/12/2025: Absolutely terrible experience. I went in today and ordered a footlong sub, and I clearly asked if I could do half chicken, half steak. The employee said yes, no problem. When I got to checkout, I was suddenly charged for TWO separate subs instead of one footlong, with no explanation until I questioned it. The employee - a blonde girl with tattoos working the counter - had an attitude the entire time I was ordering. Rude tone, unhelpful responses, and acted like I was the inconvenience for asking a simple question that she already agreed to. If that order isn't allowed, that should be explained upfront, not used as a way to overcharge at checkout. Between the misleading information, the poor attitude, and the lack of basic customer service, this was easily one of the worst Subway experiences I've had. I won't be returning, and I wouldn't recommend this location unless you enjoy being overcharged and treated poorly.

14/12/2025: The staff are really good — 100% for friendliness and service. The Bakewell cafe with seating area is very handy for charging devices and working remotely. Toilets are provided for the public and they are spotless. Good for people who travel for work. Unfortunately the hot deli food is very average and that’s being charitable.

09/02/2026: Had the fish and chips. COD was old haddock ( not especially fresh).. & chips but no veg or salad. Very cheap at 19 euro but I’d have preferred to pay more to be able to eat it….

11/01/2026: My partner and I had lunch here recently, things started out well, with an excellent pint of Chieftain craft beer, and a cosy fire on a cold January day, but what a disappointment the food was. My roast beef was overdone, served with just mash and boiled carrots and cauliflower, no sign of the other trimmings you might expect, roast potatoes? Yorkshire pudding? Horseradish sauce? The gravy was dismal and tasted only of packet gravy browning. Won't be eating here again.

10/04/2026: Great place to stay by a beautiful river and nice that breakfast was included even when I came down late from when I said I would be there.

15/03/2026: The food gave me week long food poisoning. The drinks were poorly poured, they put water inside of their fizzy drinks to save money. Very poor experience.

14/02/2026: AVOID AVOID AVOID Take my advice, go to Tesco around the corner, get the makings of what you want and cook it yourself. It’ll taste much nicer and take less time than ordering from here. The staff are rude, dont pay any attention or have any regard for people standing in front of them. The phone is more important to them. Another gentleman in front of me was half way through ordering and the chap taking orders held his hand up to him as a signal to stop and answered the phone and then proceeded to walk away from the counter. I was waiting 2 hours for 2 meals. Every time I asked where my food which was 5 or 6 times was I was met by “ it’s very busy, I’m only taking orders it’s not my fault.” I was told 10 minutes when I went in first and was stood there for another hour and 50 minutes. I was asked to pay for my food 3 separate times even though I paid for it when I went in. If I would have known the wait time along with the horrible food, I wouldn’t have paid and walked away empty handed. The food that we ordered ( chicken tikka) I wouldn’t give to the dog. Vile isn’t even the word for it. An absolute waste of 36 euro.

19/11/2025: Walked up the hill to get to another pub that was closed. Walked into this pub for a couple drinks. Great service and welcoming locals.

01/03/2026: Ordered takeaway from soba Midleton. Teriyaki steak ramen. Never again. The only edible part of this meal was the noodles. The steak was to tough and I'd still be chewing till next week. Very disappointed
