14/12/2025: The staff are really good — 100% for friendliness and service. The Bakewell cafe with seating area is very handy for charging devices and working remotely. Toilets are provided for the public and they are spotless. Good for people who travel for work. Unfortunately the hot deli food is very average and that’s being charitable.

05/11/2025: Spent over €40 in this shop yesterday, only to wait 40 minutes for half warm food with hair in it. Staff are terrible, no refund offered. Tbh disgusting. Staff have no clue regarding hygiene towards food. This place has gone to the dogs. Genuinely would make you feel unwell and sick.

12/02/2026: Wharton’s Chipper in Bantry serves really lovely food – fresh, well cooked, and definitely the highlight of the visit. Unfortunately, the service could be a bit nicer, as it felt somewhat unfriendly. Overall, great food, but a warmer attitude from staff would make the experience much better, but in saying that I would go back because the food was so nice

19/11/2025: Walked up the hill to get to another pub that was closed. Walked into this pub for a couple drinks. Great service and welcoming locals.

20/11/2025: We went to watch a friends band. Great atmosphere and service was quite good. Especially with how busy it was. Fills up fast so get in early for a seat in the weekend

12/10/2025: The food here is consistently great and the atmosphere is lovely, but unfortunately the service really lets it down. We dine here three or four times a year, but after our most recent visit, we’ll likely look elsewhere. Despite having a 6pm booking, we waited nearly an hour just to receive our drinks, and it was 7:30pm before our main courses arrived. During that time, we saw numerous takeaway orders being collected, which was disappointing. It felt like dine-in customers were not the priority. While the food quality remains excellent, the long wait times make it hard to justify coming back.

28/12/2025: The owner kindly opened up before opening hours to let my grandmother in to use the bathroom. She has mobility issues I thought it was really kind of the owner to do this! I will be back to sample the food thank you so much to the lovely owner

29/12/2025: Absolutely terrible experience. I went in today and ordered a footlong sub, and I clearly asked if I could do half chicken, half steak. The employee said yes, no problem. When I got to checkout, I was suddenly charged for TWO separate subs instead of one footlong, with no explanation until I questioned it. The employee - a blonde girl with tattoos working the counter - had an attitude the entire time I was ordering. Rude tone, unhelpful responses, and acted like I was the inconvenience for asking a simple question that she already agreed to. If that order isn't allowed, that should be explained upfront, not used as a way to overcharge at checkout. Between the misleading information, the poor attitude, and the lack of basic customer service, this was easily one of the worst Subway experiences I've had. I won't be returning, and I wouldn't recommend this location unless you enjoy being overcharged and treated poorly.

06/09/2025: Staff are always so lovely and patient. It's very clean and always busy but always moving.

29/10/2025: We had the chow mein and duck curry. Food was gorgeous. Just the right amount. The salt and chilli chips were perfect. Lovely calm atmosphere inside and very clean. Would recommend.

16/09/2025: Very pleasant experience! 4 main dishes and 4 sides only took about 20 minutes to prepare. On top of that, some extras were thrown in free of charge. Delicious food, good value, lovely staff, would 11/10 recommend!!
