Brian Boru
Dublin
02/09/2024: Met a friend here the last Saturday in August for lunch, arriving at 13:30. As there are parking machines in the carpark and as I didn't know exactly how long I would be parked for, I tried to ask at the bar whether they could let me know if the parking attendants visit the carpark frequently or if I could pay for a couple of hours and then feed the meter as necessary. The first person I tried to ask was the barman who pointed at me and then turned and walked away without saying a single word !
I then asked a waitress who seemed to be annoyed to be asked a question. She told me I would have to pay. I hadn't suggested that I wouldn't !
Having walked out and put what would hopefully be enough money in the meter, I passed the waitress and her other waitress colleague on my way back in. They broke off momentarily from their chat to give me a little sneering smile and a roll of their eyes at each other. Really ? They then proceeded to not notice we wanted to order for a fair amount of time. Rudeness personified !
The food doesn't warrant any particular comment, generic battered chicken in a bun and my friend had a beef burger. Both burgers came with a small bowl of chips. As my friend and I were both driving we washed down our "meal" with a bottle of still water and one sparkling.
We would have added a dessert but decided against spending any more money in unpleasant surroundings. €40 for two indifferent burgers and two small bottles of water served up by rude incompetent staff.
Sad that the Dublin landmark and institution that is Hedigans has come to this.
My advice if you are thinking of visiting is, save yourself the annoyance and go somewhere else. There are many places that are happy to see customers arriving.
Hedigans isn't on that list.
31/08/2024: Asked on Friday to put on a match Saturday morning. The staff 10 minutes into the match I wanted to watch told me they couldn't show the match. Complete waste of my time. Incompetent and rude staff.

Pages Cafe
Bundoran
07/07/2024: We’ve been going to this cafe for years and even though it’s changed its name to Rocky’s, it’s still a great spot to stop for a bite to eat after a day in Bundoran. The staff are always lovely and friendly and the food is always great.

Brian Muldoon & Sons
Ardee
14/10/2024: A friend recommended Muldoons, so we drove an hour for a fairly average dinner. The location is fine, and the service was friendly . My fillet steak was simply not a good cut , it was surprisingly fatty, although cooked well . Frozen chips in a restaurant are a simple no for me . Muldoons, to be fair, was busy, so I assume we just were unlucky, but I doubt if I would return unless I was passing through Ardee.
29/09/2024: Myself and two of my friends called at Muldoons Restaurant in Ardee on route from Dublin this morning
Met by two lovely female members of staff and the Order for our full Irish breakfast was taken
The tea was brought down first shortly followed by our full plate of breakfast & slices of toast
Everything was perfectly cooked and there was ample helpings
The staff were most friendly and they checked with us, was everything okay
The Toilets were gleaming and lovely and clean
Really pleasant experience

Parkers Restaurant
24/02/2024: We were out spinning today on motorbikes and myself an my husband brought 2 of our friends to see rock of Cashel and the lovely village of Holycross Co Tipp. We asked at the pub was there anywhere to eat and the kind gentleman directed us to Park 63. The 4 of us went to check it out and to be honest we felt a bit of “not dressed for the occasion “ as we were in bike gear, and it was a very nice clean restaurant, I have to say the reception we received was amazing the young girl was so polite and couldn’t be more helpful, we had an amazing lunch food was very tasty 😊 I’d say it would be just fabulous in summer sitting outside , as we love sitting outside we will definitely return in warmer weather, and let our biking friends know if they want to stop for a bite to eat , as we travel most Sundays looking for nice places to eat, this will most definitely be on our list 😊
