18/09/2024: Been a few time in the Tara Hotel Resturant but the last time for lunch with my wife,the lunch was very poor.I had a fish pie which was almost devoid of any fish,in fact it was probably the remnants of chowder with a 2 1/2 inch topping of cheesy mash minus the cheese .My wife had a open prawn sandwich which consisted of prawn Marie rose with little to no sauce and pretty tired looking salad. To round it off we got a portion of chips which numbered about12 chips for the bargain price of €5.Wouldn’t recommend anyone to eat here,just about anywhere else in Donegal is better than this place,standard of cooking is shocking

06/09/2024: I used to eat here whenever I am in Donegal. It used to be really good food. Unfortunately things have changed. I was in recently for dinner. I ordered a salad. The leaves were rotten and slimy. What was delivered to the table was not what was on the menu. My husband ordered Fish and Chips. The fish was soggy and tasteless, the chips were terrible. You could taste that the oil from the fryer needs to be changed. Just very disappointed and not happy about having to pay for such bad food.

30/07/2024: stayed in a tent in the campsite. The location is lovely and picturesque. Bar is on-site and large covered patio is somewhere to go if it rains. Clean toilets and shower area. The negatives are that there was no one 'in charge'. Children shouting and making noise at 12 oclock at night. No kitchen facilities only a sink, not even a fridge. Site is quite wet, even in July. This is more suited for caravans/motor homes.

06/04/2024: What a fantastic place, it is a hidden gem. The food is so tasty - home cooked food at its best. The service was brilliant and the staff were so friendly and accommodating even though they were so busy. The owner Eilish is a fabulous lady, so welcoming and friendly and also from Cork 😄

23/04/2024: This is a lovely hotel we stayed last Saturday night it was extremely busy 3 functions going on which we didn't mind. But they did not give us the hotel room which I booked but rather put us in a log cabin on arrival we were informed we got a upgrade which to honest wasn't in our opinion the bed was a very small double and typical of Ireland badly finished no point having sink tables chairs and kettle if u have no fridge or microwave. This was OK for us wecwere only staying overnight but we booked a table for 2 on arrival for 7.30 but it wasn't kept so we ended up eating very late near to 9 o clock. It was a lovely meal in fairness but overall we felt a bit cheated surely they should ring u if they don't have the room u booked and then when leaving I got told the bill was 222 euros great I said but it wasn't there was 254 euros taken from account they added on tax of 23% and 13.5% should have been said. As a result I would nt come back shame.

29/09/2024: This restaurant leans towards local produce and prides itself on serving the freshest fish from local boats. Razor clams and mackerel were delicious. 🐟 🍷

29/08/2024: Firstly we found it hard to get served, the waiting staff were chatting by the kitchen and were in no rush to serve out table. Be prepared for a long wait. We ordered the chowder and both of us were sick that evening, we let the restaurant know by email and they hadn't the courtesy to reply to my email. If they were located anywhere else they would be out of business by now.

06/09/2024: The hotel is excellent, beautiful surrounding and restaurants fantastic. Had a slight issue with billing but to be fair to the hotel it was sorted very professionally and promptly. Would definitely recommend.

06/09/2024: Fantastic hotel, clean, beautiful food and amazing cocktails. Staying here is an experience that really lives up to the expectations with the name ‘The Savoy’. Staff are professional but friendly. Breakfast is such a treat and should not be missed. Dined in the Hamptons Restaurant and it was delicious and reasonably priced. I would highly recommend this hotel, restaurant and bar. I stayed in an executive room which gave me access to the executive lounge with refreshments available at no charge. Rooms are large, comfortable beds with a safe and a fridge. Lived our 3 nights here and was sad to be leaving.

09/09/2024: Myself and my daughter booked into L’Escale restaurant. We decided on a main & a desert. Both of had chicken it was absolutey beautiful. My daughter had the chocolate fondant while I had a lime & lemon panacotta so nice & our waiter Aragon was really professional.. lovely decor too. Def recommend this restaurant. Sinead

05/09/2024: The menu and food really hit a the high notes of what was an exceptional dinner. Between very imaginative starters and outstanding flavours of our mains we were treated like new best friends by all the staff.

14/07/2024: First off I have to say I am really glad i booked this restaurant for the last night of my stay at druids glen as it was a special experience. First off service was excellent everything you would expect from a 2 AA Rosette experience. Friendly staff, tables set up as you would expect right down to changing the cutlary out for fish specific cutlary nice touches. Quality of food again everything one would expect from a Double AA Rosette in terms of quality, freshness and localness of ingrediants in the main. There were even curious items like my starter which was squid croquettes with blue cheese. Two things you wouldnt necessarily put together in same sentence but surprisingly worked. Similarly with the squash ravoli and monkfish dish again i would have naturally assumed the squash would be to sweet but it worked. Other guests dishes also excellent. Desserts were tasty although I would have thought rum baba might have been more syrupy based on previous I have had. Wine selection excellent and the desert wine a curious but enjoyable drop. One minor quibble which i found hard to figure was how some tables got a small dish of petit fuors whilst waiting to pay bill but i didnt and also another table got a pallate clenser sorbet before starting there meal. This was slightly confusing, was there a specific price treshold one needed to spend to get such perks because there seemed to be no such set rule. Overall a very nice special experience, everything you would expect and priced right not withstanding the confusing scenario with petit fuors and pallate clenser.

24/03/2024: Worse carvery we've ever had. Meat was as tough . All veg and stuffing had way to much pepper in them. Couldn't eat it . Tried desert and it was still frozen solid so couldn't eat that either. Won't be back

17/06/2024: Rivers Edge is a really lovely spot. It has a lovely relaxing atmosphere. The food we got was very reasonably priced considering it's excellent quality and varied menu, which had four lovely vegetarian options. The waiting staff are professional, helpful, and friendly, and the owner Michael is incredibly helpful and obliging. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would certainly recommend it.
