11/12/2024: I walked in on a Wednesday evening only to be told that the kitchen is closed on a Tuesday. The "Food served all day" was standing outside.

10/12/2024: Lovely traditional bar but unfortunately the gents toilets need a lot of work. Don't know about the ladies.

19/02/2025: I come here 2-4 times per year. Great scampi and prawns. Fish batter undercooked which is not normal as the food is generally great. BE VERY CAREFUL if you are using a credit or debit card not from Ireland. In every restaurant I have ever been in I get charged in my currency or asked if I want the conversion rate. I was NOT asked here. Entered my pin and then the person sorting the bill used the conversion rate in the quickest way possible before I could say anything. Outcome I get a conversion rate at 8.9% versus the 17% my bank gives me. This is obviously policy and not the fault of the staff member who was very nice. I will not be back as it has completely spoilt a family meal.

15/12/2024: Amazing restaurant with excellent seafood! Staff were attentive, friendly and the overall atmosphere was cosy and warm. We were first time visitors and will definitely be back! If you like seafood then this place is a must!

13/12/2024: Food was decent. Staff nice, but very unaware and not very attentive. Took 20 minutes to order dessert after mains due to staff not noticing we were finished mains. Asked for dessert menu, but had to ask a second time and a different staff member. When eventually got the dessert menu the staff member did not follow up to take order. Had to wait and try get attention of another staff member. Wasted about 20 minutes in total. Bizarre carry on 😅

13/11/2024: This evening I had one of the nicest meals ever, the supreme of Irish Chicken for mains and cheesecake for dessert. The chicken was perfect and everything that went with it was incredible (especially the mushrooms). I would recommend this dish and I’ll be booking to stay at the Hodson Bay again just so I can visit the restaurant! Big shout out to Joaquin for the exceptional service too.

23/04/2024: This is a lovely hotel we stayed last Saturday night it was extremely busy 3 functions going on which we didn't mind. But they did not give us the hotel room which I booked but rather put us in a log cabin on arrival we were informed we got a upgrade which to honest wasn't in our opinion the bed was a very small double and typical of Ireland badly finished no point having sink tables chairs and kettle if u have no fridge or microwave. This was OK for us wecwere only staying overnight but we booked a table for 2 on arrival for 7.30 but it wasn't kept so we ended up eating very late near to 9 o clock. It was a lovely meal in fairness but overall we felt a bit cheated surely they should ring u if they don't have the room u booked and then when leaving I got told the bill was 222 euros great I said but it wasn't there was 254 euros taken from account they added on tax of 23% and 13.5% should have been said. As a result I would nt come back shame.

03/02/2025: Wings where good. Down hill after that. They forgot the drinks order. The burgers was just covered in sauce and raw bacon. Bacon and cheese fries was a joke. Fries with small rubbery pieces of bacon with grated cheese over them and melted in microwave. We took the cheese off and ask for more just to confirm our thoughts and the plate comes back scolding after been put back in the micro with more grated cheese. Disgusting. Sack the chef

29/10/2024: The woman who greeted us for our 3.30pm booking sloped around the place with a sour puss on her and made us feel like we were an inconvenience. She went off to check table when I gave the name, telling us to wait there. We waited and as she was taking a bit of time chatted amongst ourselves, my daughter then alerted me to the woman standing impatiently in the middle of the restaurant , again with sour puss firmly fixed on and we followed dutifully. She put the menus on our table and once again sloped off with not so much as enjoy your meal or would you like some water or a drink. We were then left sat there for 15 mins and no one came near us. I tried to catch waiters attention a few times but they were just wandering around in a daze avoiding eye contact. We eventually stood up and walked past 2 waitresses who never acknowledged us. They also looked miserable. Then I passed the woman who sat us and she said nothing so I turned back and asked her if she was even bothered that we were leaving and all I got was a scowl and an abrupt why? whats wrong? Comment. I could do nothing but shake my head and vow never to return. ( not that they would be bothered ) 😅 If she is the manager I can see why the staff are miserable and not bothered either.

05/09/2024: The menu and food really hit a the high notes of what was an exceptional dinner. Between very imaginative starters and outstanding flavours of our mains we were treated like new best friends by all the staff.

14/07/2024: First off I have to say I am really glad i booked this restaurant for the last night of my stay at druids glen as it was a special experience. First off service was excellent everything you would expect from a 2 AA Rosette experience. Friendly staff, tables set up as you would expect right down to changing the cutlary out for fish specific cutlary nice touches. Quality of food again everything one would expect from a Double AA Rosette in terms of quality, freshness and localness of ingrediants in the main. There were even curious items like my starter which was squid croquettes with blue cheese. Two things you wouldnt necessarily put together in same sentence but surprisingly worked. Similarly with the squash ravoli and monkfish dish again i would have naturally assumed the squash would be to sweet but it worked. Other guests dishes also excellent. Desserts were tasty although I would have thought rum baba might have been more syrupy based on previous I have had. Wine selection excellent and the desert wine a curious but enjoyable drop. One minor quibble which i found hard to figure was how some tables got a small dish of petit fuors whilst waiting to pay bill but i didnt and also another table got a pallate clenser sorbet before starting there meal. This was slightly confusing, was there a specific price treshold one needed to spend to get such perks because there seemed to be no such set rule. Overall a very nice special experience, everything you would expect and priced right not withstanding the confusing scenario with petit fuors and pallate clenser.

04/08/2024: Great mix of locals. Very nice place to sit and relax with a pint. Bridget also makes a good Irish stew. Live music from time to time and located bang in the centre of town

06/02/2025: Un peu vide et froid (ambiance hein pas chauffage) pour le déjeuner mais la cuisine était standard. Un curry un peu banal mais correct. Bonne bière. Si on est pressé ca vaut le coup parce qu'il serve toute la journée sinon cherchez autre chose si vous avez le temps

04/11/2024: Never had a bad meal on passing through Bunclody & stopping at the Rivers Edge, BUT yesterday s sun lunch was 50/50 my husband had Beef & was lovely I had lamb and to say it was the worst Lamb & portion I ever had, it was shockingly bad, 3 less than half slices that were so thin nearly see through they were so thin!! I mentioned to the server when asked, €17.00! This needs your attention Rivers Edge!!

19/09/2024: Absolutely amazing food! aswell as a cosy and welcoming environment and the staff couldn’t have been nicer ! definitely will be back !!

03/11/2024: We visited apparently on the last weekday they would be open for the year, and weekday service will continue in January. We got lucky! As you arrive at the Trump International Golf Resort you are warmly received by a finely dressed gentleman at the gate house. He called ahead and announced our arrival for lunch, gave us directions, instructed us where to park. The staff of the bar and restaurant were waiting for us, menus in hand. They were preparing for Halloween and there were lovely arrangements of pumpkins. We were seated at a corner table that had two windows on each side that allowed for a wonderful view of the ocean, beach and a part of the golf course. Started the lunch with drinks, the men had Guinness, and I had what I considered the best Bloody Mary made from fresh ingredients and not a mix. I chose the Salt and Chili calamari, which was on a salad/slaw which was tangy delicious. My husband had the shrimp tacos. Being from Texas we are usually very skeptical of any taco in another country, but this did not disappoint. I stole a few bites, as well as a few of the most perfect French fries which were crispy goodness. The staff were absolutely perfect, the ambiance was elevated Irish pub with a seaside twist. I am very glad we took the chance and drove the hour from the Shannon Airport area. After lunch we strolled the beautiful beach! We had the beach to ourselves which was extra special. From the beach as you look out at the water you can see the Cliffs of Moher. If you had all day, you could visit the cliffs and the Trump Bar & Restaurant. Next time we visit, I would like to spend a night or two at the resort. But for a daytime visit you really cannot ask for anything more!

24/08/2024: Popped in for a drink as we were staying nearby. Beautiful setting, nice bar/restaurant area. Lovely staff, friendly & very efficient.
