Johnny Burkes bar

Miltown malbay
14/05/2024: This place was awesome! The staff was super friendly and welcoming. I ordered the burger and it was hands down one of the best burgers I’ve ever had! Do yourself a favor and pair it with a Guinness!

The Silver Key

Cork

The French Quarter Cafe

Tipperary
06/06/2024: Stopped in on a trip through Tipperary Town. At first, I didn't realize the cafe was located inside the library but I am so glad we found it. Portions were large and the quiche and the coronation wrap were my party's favorites. Staff was friendly and if I am ever back in town, I would come to the French Quarter Cafe. Thanks for the hospitality!

Mount Juliet Golf Club

Thomastown
03/06/2024: Ein wirklich sehr schöner und gepflegter Platz! Sehr nettes Personal, schöner Proshop. Clubhaus mit Blick auf Driving Range. Alles in allem war es das GreenFee wert.
22/04/2024: Myself and three friends booked into mt Juliet for two night and booked golf for one round. Our T time was 12.20 and we got back to the clubhouse at 6pm🙈they put two ball out between 4 ball and we waited on every hole. We were eating in the hound restaurant that evening so we went in to have drinks after a very very long round . I sat down at a vacant table and when server came he asked if I had a booking and I said no we just wanted to have drinks and I was told that the tables were booked !! As it happened some other friends were playing behind us who didn’t have a booking but as they were eating they were allowed in. When we said this at reception we were told club house gave preference to members and their guests. It is a beautiful golf course which we have played may times but to be honest the personal touch has gone which is such a shame

Harpers Restaurant

Kilkenny
14/07/2024: We had an amazing time at the bottomless brunch. The service was absolutely amazing, and the DJ really added to the whole experience. Highly highly recommend
19/06/2024: I honestly can’t understand the high rating this place has achieved. We were on a hen do and booked the 2:30 Bottomless Brunch slot on Saturday. It was an absolute madhouse with the music sky high. Terrible food ,nasty fizz and watery cocktails. The dining room is a long dark narrow room with no coverings on the tables and shabby chairs. We left after an hour.If you are considering booking this you absolutely must get one of your party to go along first to check it out.

Willie Pa’s 2019

Bantry
19/09/2024: Fantastic. It was very quiet on a Thursday eve about 8 ish ?? But other than that just marvellous. Had Brie for starters and fish pie and chicken curry for mains. Everything beautifully cooked and presented and loads of it. We’ve been in the area for a week and nothing has come close to this. Sad we only discovered it on second last night
24/07/2024: An impromptu midweek dinner went down an absolute treat. A good steak is hard and I'd die on that hill. Balancing the resting time with the wellness without it going cold or cooking further is a magical art and was certainly nailed here with a fillet steak coming out on a bed of soft mushrooms and onion. My wife has a lovely of a pub roast and was gutted to leave some behind such was the size and quality of the slices of meat. The sides were many and piled high. Next time we'll hopefully manage a dessert!

Conor's Bar at The Lodge

Glasslough
10/08/2024: Unfortunately after visiting CL for 17 years this has to be the worst experience I have ever had. Unfortunatley the menu is very constrictive and limited in choices. The chef seriously needs to review this especially for vegans and coelic options. However I fought to find somethng and had a starter with sides. The biggest issue is the quality of service which has gone from absolutely superb to absolutely awful. We asked, repeated and recalled and every time there was an excuse, multiple mistakes and blank faces staring at us. We were not the only table complaining but I will not speak for others. Come on CL, do not let this institution decline especially at the prices you are charging!
03/07/2024: Went to this bar this afternoon for a friend’s birthday . The food and the place were great, really lovely , but the service was - sorry to have to say it - poor . Service can be a deal breaker and difficult to get right . The first waitress - a Malaysian / Indonesian girl was glum . The water carafe had really wet the table and the menus , however , she made no effort to get a cloth and dry the table . Her attitude towards us was a variety of indifference and quasi hostility . She did not engage with us in any way apart from writing down our order . There was no banter , no smile , no reference to the food . We also ordered a bottle of wine between two . I clearly stated I wasn’t drinking ( as I was the driver ) but yet two glasses arrived . I felt like I was the one who did something wrong when she curtly pointed out that I needed to move my water beaker in order for her to put down the wine glass ( which I was not going to use anyway ) . We both felt almost intimidated to ask anything as feedback and engagement were apparently ‘ not on any menu ‘ ! The food arrived and it was super . That said nobody asked us if we were ok or if the food was ok or if we needed anything . We were left to our own devices . We requested assistance from three other waitresses throughout the course of the meal . Two were business like and one was just inexperienced - we left a tip but she did not even say ‘ Thank you ‘ . This was disappointing . A more mature lady approached at one point and she was somewhat friendly . She offered to refill the water carafe but the water never arrived . Before leaving I went up to the counter to say goodbye and thanks but all waitresses were involved in some sort of kerfuffle and didn’t even look at me or say anything as I said my goodbye and thanks . Again very disappointing . This is a lovely venue and great food but sadly attention to detail was lacking and service should be better . Maybe everyone was having an ‘ off day ‘ but these days shouldn’t really be foisted on the customers . I would definitely return because of the quality of the food and the venue itself but the service needs an upgrade
