Riverview At Flynns
Tullamore
08/11/2024: A rare thing these days but a place where you actually feel you get value for money. The breakfast waz delicious and generous plenty of everything the coffee waz great. The service was friendly and efficient. It's one of the best places for breakfast I've been to in Midlands if not the best.
16/07/2024: This was a favourite spot of ours a couple of years ago. They had many options on the menu, large portions, hot food and good price for what you got. Recently I moved back home and wanted to pop in for lunch with my family, unfortunately we didn’t eat here because when we got inside I noticed that they now also have downstairs seating. It looked a little plain and drab from, the upstairs was always nice and calm, pastel colours and quaint. The menu was full but no vegetarian options were available. I asked the lady behind the counter, I think she was the cook, if they do substitutes , as in do they do vegetarian alternative dishes and she said “no, quiche is the vegetarian option for today” I said is there anything else and she said no it’s quiche. I hate quiche it’s the quick and easy option for all cafes and restaurants to make and after having so many everywhere I go I could live without seeing one ever again. I think maybe they could make a more varied menu to target other dietary requirements and people not eating meat for medical reasons.

Patcheen's Pub
Annascaul
29/12/2024: Slow service is being generous.
Over an hour waiting for x2 fish and chips.
I like fresh fish but I think they must have gone out to catch it whilst I waited.
Slow service is a regular theme here.
I'm a local and haven't been back to this chipper in a while for this very reason.
Circumstances forced me to give them another try tonight, and it was as slow as ever. It is actually quicker to drive 20 mins each way to Dingle, and get food there.
When you get your food it was okay.

Hanoras Cottage
04/01/2025: Have been to Hanora’s a few times to dine with friends. The food is always gorgeous and the waitresses are lovely ladies. Mary, the owner, is a very polite lady who loves to pop by each table for a chat. The restaurant is very clean and homely. The homemade bread is delicious and the meal is always fabulous. They always serve red cabbage with every meal so be sure to ask for no red cabbage if you dislike it like myself! The place is a little hidden gem in the countryside and well worth a visit for a quiet meal with friends or family. They also make their own chutneys, jams, salad dressings etc which can usually be purchase there. Their homemade Christmas pudding is by far the nicest I’ve ever tasted. Highly recommend this place.

O'Connors Bar
Ballybunion
10/11/2024: Nice spot to stop in for a coffee or light bite to eat. Offers takeaway coffee as an option than to sit in. It has more seating indoors not as much seating outdoors. Opened on limited days and time. It serves lovely coffee. Easy to walk to within the town.

Papa John's Ireland

The service was first class. We ordered 6 different meals and every plate was emptied! VERY reasonably priced it it suitable for locals/golfers and passing tourists! I had worse Michelin star meals in London basements! Drop of at the front door.. lift.. and stunning balcony for a smoke! Please support it!

The Country Roads Inn
Rosnakill
14/09/2024: McBrides was our first spot on the roadtrip through the Ireland, and it was a perfect way to kick it off! We are so grateful to Brian that he accepted us in the middle of the night and welcomed so warmly. We would definitely recommend the place to anyone who’s in the area and we are looking forward to be back ourselves!

Browne's Bar
25/11/2024: I really wanted to give a better review for our experience here but there were a few too many little issues. We visited for Spanish night - the venue was cold and dim. Our waitress had no idea about the menu, we were quite confused as to where to go initially. Starters were delicious. One of our mains were stone cold and had to be replaced. When we asked for a second bottle of wine it was simply left on the table with the cap on. We could have done with extra plates for the shared starters. The staff were very friendly and kind. The wine was delicious
22/11/2024: Went for an evening meal but we were told they finished serving at 4pm!!!! Was disappointed was a nice friendly pub restaurant

Keanes
24/02/2025: Had an absolutely wonderful experience here on a recent evening out, the food was exceptional, my wife had the Herb crusted Hake which was so fresh and flavoursome and I opted for the Dick which was equally divine.
Our waiter was so friendly and super efficient on what was a very busy restaurant.

Brehon Bar
Westport
29/12/2024: On a recommendation we visited the Brehon Bar for the seafood chowder. Unfortunately John Durkan mustn't have been fishing that day as his famous chowder was lacking it's main component, fish! A bowl of milky fish water with a couple of slithers of the side of a fish does not constitute a famous chowder also priced at €13.50 which I wouldn't have minded paying if only it had some substance and flavour. Besides that service and ambience great!
