27/09/2024: Didn't even get in the door , we were dismissed right away with a staff member who was taking an order from a customer with " I don't have anything " at least let us close the door even the other customer was shocked by her dismissive comment, this woman needs some customer care lessons or training , needless to say we won't be back an I would advise people to stay away with that sort of careless downright rude attitude

24/07/2024: Waited 29 minutes to be seen..wasn't even busy..just gave up and went elsewhere. Donegal.town has lots of choice so I won't make that mistake again

31/10/2024: I was looking forward to finding a new local eatery but would not return for food. Service was decent, and the atmosphere was ok. Starters...vegetable soup was ok, garlic mushrooms were breaded mushrooms with a garlic mayo, loaded chicken nachos were mainly the broken bits from the end of a bag of nachos but the chicken coupons were tasty. For mains, the chicken wings and chips were not good. The wings were tough and lathered in sauce to try to disguise it. The chips were not as described. Again, the special buttermilk chicken tenders were bland and the chips not triple cooked. The chicken goujons for the caesar Salad were very nice, but the caesar dressing was lacking flavour, and the bacon was very fatty. I hate giving a bad review to a local business, but I honestly think that if The Hideout reduced the number of dishes on its menu and focused on quality of the smaller menu, it would offer better food. And finally, I could not believe there were cameras in the bathrooms. Above the urinals in the men's bathroom and over the sink pointing at the stalls in the ladies. 11/09/2024: Went midweek and had a couple of drinks and ordered food. Staff were friendly and accommodating. We ordered chicken wings with Jack Daniels sauce and triple cooked chips. The chicken wings were tough which suggested they were reheated in a microwave and then smothered in the sauce. Not good. The triple cooked chips should be crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. These were limp and quite tasteless as if they hadn’t been cooked more than twice, if that. The fish and chips we ordered was a little better as the fish batter was OK, but the same issue with the chips. Not a great experience.

09/09/2024: Having been fishing down in Kerry the night before we stopped here whilst on our way to Co.Clare, friendly staff, and the place looked busy enough for a Sunday too. I had the baked salmon with lemon sauce, my friend had the turkey and ham, the salmon was nice and not overcooked, the creamy lemon sauce could have possibly had a bit more lemon added, friend said that one little edge of the turkey was a bit dry but the rest was perfect. Both came with mash potatoes and a side of cabbage and carrot and possibly turnip mash(I didn’t have any of that) I’m not sure how the coffee was made, but that is one area there could be an improvement. I know as soon as I asked for an americano and she replied “2 coffees” not to get my hopes up too high about that. But everything else was fine. We sat outside where it was nice and cool, indoors seemed quite warm to me when in there, which would have made eating a little uncomfortable for me, but that’s possible just me I guess.

21/08/2024: Great food! Stopped here on a whim and so glad we did. Peaceful atmosphere and great food. Servers were very nice and quick also. If you're in the area stop it's completely worth it

10/11/2024: Booked a table for lunch 10th November for 3.30pm. A very pleasant young waitress showed us our table gave us a menu took our order for drinks and lunch. In 15 minutes our food was served I had lamb my husband had beef and all the trimmings. The food was fantastic and quite generous portions Will go again efficient place

11/08/2024: Long time since I was last here and I’m glad I called in, menu to suit all tastes. We ordered 2 roast beef dinners and we were by no means disappointed. It was delicious from start to finish. Beef was superb tasty and plenty of it. The vegetables were cooked and a good variety of them, mash potatoes and roast potatoes were delicious. Yorkshire pudding and some gorgeous homemade stuffing and proper gravy. Top marks !! Service was quick and staff were very friendly We will definitely call here again

05/10/2024: We were here on a Collette tour, Anna was lovely for our group dinner. Friendly, helpful and professional! Wonderful dinner experience!

05/10/2024: When we arrived our check was prompt and the concierge from the hotel came on the bus to do the intro and procedures to us prior to us coming into the hotel. Great service! Dinner in the restaurant was also very good! Our meal was delicious and Anna our server was prompt, personable and very efficient . Her sense of humour was delightful!! All in all we truly enjoyed our stay.
