Castle Grove Country House Hotel
24/07/2024: Na het oprijden van de oprijlaan gearriveerd bij het mooi gelegen sfeervolle landhuis. Gezellige ontvangst in de zitkamer. Vervolgens werd aan tafel prettig snel het eten geserveerd . Het eten was allemaal echt super smaakvol!

19/11/2024: Food was lovely as usual, service was good, but once 8.20pm came, we felt like we had to leave, staff started cleaning up & setting the place for breakfast, mostly residential people there, I just felt pushed out.
13/10/2024: We dined in Porto’s for a birthday meal and we have a lovely time, the food was lovely. We had a very kind waitress, Hattie, she was extremely helpful and attentive

13/12/2024: Almost thirty of us went here for a Christmas party. I was very impressed. The function room was a perfect size for our numbers and nicely laid out. The service was fantastic, in particular our waitress, Emma, who could not do enough for us. The restaurant bent over backwards to cater for any dietary requirements and even printed up a personalised menu for those of us who had said requirements. That was a first! The food was excellent and I enjoyed all three courses.
09/09/2024: Back to Balreask for 2 nights over last weekend. This is the 4th time that we have set up camp here for our yearly Captains P&P outing. We are based in Dublin 15 so only a quick 30min trip up. Located on the doorstep of Navan town, you've plenty of options within easy reach. This place just does not disappoint. From arrival to departure, the staff are always on top of their game. Food was top drawer as always, along with the superb service provided by Enda and his crew. Rooms were spotlessly clean as always. Shout out to Nico, Guntar & the ever-lovely Ingrid who are a credit to the place. Keep up the great work and see you all in 52 weeks 👍

10/03/2025: La comida era mediocre en el mejor de los casos. Pedí un bagel de pizza que costó € 9. 50 y todo lo que contenía era una sola loncha de jamón y una sola loncha de queso. Apenas hacía calor y el queso ni siquiera se derretía. Honestamente, podrías ir a Tesco y obtener todos los ingredientes por separado, hacer más de un bagel y aún así tener dinero sobrante. El personal estaba desinteresado, pero no se les puede culpar totalmente, ya que parece que no es un gran lugar para trabajar.
14/12/2024: Precios extorsivos por lo que obtienes y por qué hay tanto personal que no sabe hablar ni entender inglés. Estrés

14/02/2025: Coldest burger and chips we’ve ever had anywhere. Ordered there and then and took home which is a 3 minute drive away. Stone cold food. Very disappointing
12/02/2025: Asked for a veggie burger in there and the savage behind the counter threw a bit of lettuce between 2 bun's with red sauce on it and charged me €5 for it

All though sometimes they give u the wrong order..........=here i am nearly 12 months later and I can't say I'm impressed I would give it a 2/10 the chips taste like pre made and are soggy the chicken tenders are so soggy they were like water
I taught you would improve but you clearly didn't I will be back in 12 months for another review hope it improves.............=

16/10/2024: The food and service was top notch The price was good . The restaurant has a beautiful artistic look and I loved the well and the fish down stairs.
03/09/2024: We just drove off the motorway to look for a quick snack. We didn't know then what a lovely surprise awaited us at the Gallery Café. There's a great display of artwork, the place is tastefully decorated and the tables spaced out reasonably well. The waitress was kind and helpful. The food simply delicious! Would definitely go again and would recommend to others.

06/04/2025: Had dinner here with a really large group and even though there were a lot of us, the food was really good and the waitstaff was excellent, especially Fawn and Owen. The Irish coffee was the cherry on top!

21/11/2024: Booked for two nights stay. Was informed that it was overbooked one day before arrival .
Fuming. No apologies. He Didn't care that it was inconvenient and disruptive to our plans.

The Lough Avoul Inn
14/03/2025: Esta es posiblemente la peor experiencia gastronómica que he tenido en mis 60 años en esta tierra.
El hombre y la mujer en este lugar deben tener prohibido servir al público.
Invadieron nuestro espacio personal en numerosas ocasiones, transmitieron sus opiniones políticas personales sobre nosotros y otros que estaban allí. Eran dominantes, ruidosos y odiosos.
Si estuviera hambriento y jadeando preferiría morir que visitara este lugar de nuevo.

30/12/2024: Es la peor comida que he comido en mucho tiempo. Este lugar está perdido en el tiempo y no en el buen sentido. Captura los días en que comer fuera en Irlanda era horrible. Alimentos de 1980 y precios de 2025. La sopa fue recientemente microondas y rellena de grumos duros de pescado, la hamburguesa de 17 € era horrible.
