14/03/2025: It was great to find somewhere open for food at this time of the year and it was excellent. I’ve visited here many times before and it’s always had a great ambiance along with excellent food. I’ve just finished a seafood gratin which was superb. Filled with high quality fish and prawns in a very tasteful sauce. Try it. It epitomises the best of an Irish pub restaurant to me. Keep up the good work.

17/02/2025: Per our tour guide's recommendation, we had lunch here during our day tour of The Ring of Kerry. We had a fantastic experience! This is an authentic, small and cozy local Irish pub. The food and drinks were served to us as if we were locals. We found everything here to be perfect, demonstrating once again that unique Irish charm. Give The Blind Piper a try and you won't be disappointed.

14/04/2025: Very very attractive price, be careful of the bouncers who don't like French people and throw them out very quickly, typically dropping your glass is a reason

15/03/2025: The order took almost 2 hours to be delivered! I ordered a pizza for delivery at 5:15 PM, and it only arrived at 7 PM. On top of that, the delivery guy stopped far from my house and just waited there, so I had to go to his car to get the pizza. The pizza was great as always, but situations like this make us feel disappointed and frustrated with the service.

20/09/2024: Was on holiday for a few days with the Mrs & went here for a meal 1 night, as a couple who travel a lot & like to experience new restaurants, I've got to say the food & experience was great. The beef cheeks were amazing, the best ive actually had, perfectly cooked, the Mrs is still talking about her garlic prawns she had as a starter. I will definitely be giving this place another visit next time I'm in the area

13/04/2025: We have visited The Good Room many times and most of the time the food is very good. There’s good choice on the menu and something for everyone. However, the service is an issue unfortunately. It takes far too long to order , we’ve often had to wait a good 15/20 mins after seating and then have to go get a waitress ourselves or try to get the attention of one. It’s a pity because as mentioned the food is consistently good but poor service leaves a bad taste I’m afraid.

16/03/2025: Was delighted to try this cafe after hearing such positive things about it. My friend and I both ordered the pulled chicken on flat bread. We were both dissatisfied with the quality of chicken. All we got was the grey meat. Afterwards we both felt gawkey thinking about it. For the price charged I would have thought there would be some white chicken! Not sure if I would go back again after this unless it was for a vegetarian option!

09/03/2025: Out for a nice walk today at Giles Quay and was peckish and we were heading to Carlingford lunch when we spotted Fergusons on the way out Well we thought we’d try this place and it was the worst decision we ever made Looked good on entry and there was a nice buzz inside. That’s where the niceties ended. We were seated and menus given out and drinks ordered, the Guinness was top notch, we ordered chicken wings for starters and they took 45 minutes to reach the table They were just okay Another 45 minutes later our main meals arrived, I got slow roasted beef with mash and vegetables my wife had battered cod with skinny fries and peas We don’t usually review food but I feel that I must warn you to steer clear of this place I don’t really know how to describe the beef dinner only to say that it was a massive plate of gooey mash with plenty of overcooked beef on top with lots of overcooked roasted potatoes and vegetables basically it was a plate of gooey mush The fish dinner wasn’t a whole pile better The service was very poor as I had to go to the bar myself on 2 occasions We ain’t hard to please but this was the worst dining experience we have had in a very very long time Steer clear

03/03/2025: Had heard good things about this bar/restaurant but was even better than we had hoped. The service was phenomenal. The staff literally couldn't do enough. Were attentive without being annoying and were so friendly. They made good recommendations and the food did not disappoint. We had the seafood tacos and chicken kumbo for dinner. Both excellent. Portions are big but that didn't stop us ordering desert which was also delicious. Had the homemade tiramisu and cheesecake. Could not fault the service and the location is so stunning. It was getting dark as we arrived but would definitely recommend a walk in Giles' Quay before/after visiting the restaurant. Will definitely be back.

17/04/2025: Absolutely awful. Ordered the “full” Irish breakfast but honestly, there was nothing full about it, just a big empty plate with scraps. The fried egg was burnt, sausages were raw on one side and burnt on the other, pudding was half the usual portion size and also burnt, hash browns came out cold. Pretty clear no one in the kitchen cares. Service wasn’t much better. A man asked to sit upstairs and was told it was closed, only for the next couple who walked in to be allowed up no problem. They make you pay up front, and after eating here I understand why, people probably refused to pay after seeing what they got. Definitely wouldn’t recommend.

29/03/2025: It was truly an exemplary experience. The service wasn't as bad as other reviews say, it was direct and polite. The dishes and chocolate marshmallows were delicious. There are bathrooms on the third floor. I would definitely come back for a coffee, a piece of cake, or breakfast.

02/01/2025: We dined here on New Years Eve, food was amazing! Emma looked after us and she couldn’t do enough for us considering how busy they were. Emma gave the kids some colours and ice cream and jelly. Big shout out to Emma, so bubbly! Highly reccommend😊

02/03/2025: Tables Filthy. Not One empty table cleared while I was sitting and there were 5 in my view. Customers had to clear tables to make room. Ridiculous with the prices charged.

13/04/2025: I brought my family for Sunday breakfeast today to mckevitts. I was very disappointed..the food was over cooked.harfd actually .the egg was hard no soft yolk.my family's fry was hard..very disappointed..I will think twice about going there again...

18/01/2025: Went here today for lunch , Ordered a ham and cheese toasted sandwich for my son ,my wife had a toasted special ,neither came with anything else on the plate . I had 2 sausages 2 bacon ,egg and chips ,a cappuccino and Americano,can of coke zero and an apple juice for son for the sum of 42 euro and can safely say I would rather have spent it in fast food restaurant just down the corridor. Prices are scandalous for average and small portions.
