28/09/2025: I always visit O'Brien's in Athlone Town Center when in Athlone. The sandwiches are always beautifully made with high quality ingredients. The coffee is great too. This is the best O'Brien's I have been to, always so clean, from the food display to the clearing of the tables. I have always found a clean table to sit at and always enjoy my food. But most of all the staff are amazing, so friendly and efficient, nothing is too much trouble for them. At this point they remember my regular order, goats cheese sandwich on gluten free bread with an Americano, I don't even have to ask anymore 😆 well done to the hard working staff.

28/10/2024: I thought the price of the food was a little bit high, but I was expecting the food to be very good..... it was not very good for the price we paid. The service was not good. They brought out a tray, a cappuccino, and a BLT. The cappuccino wasn't on a saucer, no spoons or stirrers provided, no sugar, and no milk. When she dropped them onto the table, the cappuccino spilt and made a mess. She forgot my Americano and had to go back for it. Again, she came back without saucer, spoons, milk, or sugar. I didn't like how it was carried out without a tray, and she was just holding it by the handle. The price we paid didn't reflect the service we got (or lack thereof).

17/09/2024: Stopped here for lunch yesterday the food was nice. The service wasn't great. We ordered two wraps and while they were being made we asked the lady that served us if we could take our seat outside and she told us there's 15 seconds left in the toaster if we can wait for our wraps to take them out ourselves. I found this extremely odd, the cafe was empty and there were 2 tables outside with just coffees, while 4 staff members were behind the counter, one looking at her phone as I waited for my food.. bizarre!..

21/09/2024: We had a good breakfast after all day on the ferry to Rosslare, lovely staff, tasty dishes and drinks. Definetly not the cheapest, but I would go again!

27/08/2024: Had the cajun chicken today which was absolutely gorgeous. The fresh fruit and seeds were a lovely touch. Was on my own but sat up at a counter and ended up having a good chat with 2 strangers. Very enjoyable experience. Will return.

16/08/2024: I love this place I have been going there for a while now and they know me now so it just makes the atmosphere brighter! The food tastes amazing. Everyone is so kind and the price ranges €1 -€ 10 but the parking sometimes is hard to find

25/10/2025: Great place for morning coffee with a dessert. Also, they have a secret place to eat on the back of the shop, absolutely fabulous for a small get together with friends.

26/03/2026: Was kicked out after purchasing three items (two drinks and a pastry) while many people around us were sitting with no food infront of them we found that odd. Another thing we found odd is that server claimed they needed room for "their" costumers as we had bought our items not even 5 minutes before getting kicked out. Despite mentioning how we were costumers she proceeded to point at the line and mention how these people needed to sit while there were other tables available.

26/03/2026: I went to Plaza Cafe today with a friend, bought two drinks and a pastry, and barely five minutes later, we’re being told to leave. When we asked why the server told us "customers need seats." When I pointed out that we were customers, she said our order items weren't enough and essentially ushered us out. We were surprised by the rudeness of the conversation, especially since the place was full of people sitting around with absolutely nothing in front of them. I get needing to flip tables during a rush, but we weren't camping out, we just wanted to actually finish what we paid for.

07/04/2025: It's not here either my review that doesn't exist you must have mistaken with someone else if I had something to say I'd say it. So here it is grand pub great staff, good vibe good drink, great entertainment and you can bring your dog what's not to like. Don't get in often enough.

15/12/2025: Top Pub!! Would highly recommend. Very warm and friendly staff. Great selection of drinks and games including a dart board and pool table.

14/03/2026: Beautiful, tasty novelty birthday cakes. I would just prefer if they didnt use paper plates for the cakes as they dont look very professional and they end up being folded when placed in the box. Would love if there was the option of icing on their round 8 inch cakes not just sprinkles or coconut

14/03/2025: I was in here a few times at the deli counter and had a bad experience there visited again today to get lunch and this woman just grunted at me yaaa when she seen me eyelashes like something you’d see on the side of a road sweeper I see from previous reviews I’m not the first to say it you’d nearly feel guilty asking for anything sighs at any request and plasters the mayo into the doll as if she was filling a hole in a wall with poly filler I know what I’d do with her if I was the owner
