The best restaurants

31/07/2026: We stopped at this hotel yesterday evening while travelling through Tuam for the first time. We were seated quickly, our order was taken promptly, and the food arrived in good time. My daughter ordered the chicken curry, which she absolutely loved. Unfortunately, my fish and chips were a completely different experience. The chips were lovely, but the fish was very cold. I initially thought it might have been the tartar sauce, but after another bite it was clear the fish itself was cold. I even asked my daughter to try a small piece, and she also felt it seemed undercooked and soft. It took a while to get a waiter’s attention. When I finally did, I explained that the fish was cold and appeared undercooked. He apologised, took the plate away, and never returned. No replacement was offered and nobody came back to check on us. When I went to pay, I explained the situation to another woman member of staff who was very rude about it. Rather than showing any real concern, I was told that because I had eaten some of the chips and taken a couple of bites of the fish, I still had to pay the €20. The charge was eventually reduced to €8 because I had eaten “the chips and lettuce.” So even at that €8 for a few fries some salad was very over priced. I wasn’t looking for a free meal I simply expected a hot, properly cooked replacement or, at the very least, an apology and better customer service. Mistakes happen in busy kitchens, and I understand that. What I can’t understand is how the situation was handled. I left feeling my concerns weren’t taken seriously. It’s a real shame because my daughter’s meal was excellent, and the service was quick initially. Unfortunately, the poor handling of a genuine complaint has completely put me off returning.

22/01/2026: I usually enjoy coming to Cafe Sol because most of the workers are friendly and make my drinks really well, however one woman who seemed like she didn’t enjoy her job made my matcha, and it was full of clumps and completely undrinkable. It ended up being a waste of money, which was frustrating given how much I normally like this place.

28/08/2024: Currently under refurbishment, if you want a great pint in a friendly atmosphere, you should visit when they reopen

17/08/2023: i have had many good experiences with united eats but today was awful, its been over an hour and a half since i ordered my food and its still stuck on "awaiting confirmation". the money still came out of my card and when trying to call them over 10 times it has gone to answering machine.

25/07/2024: Pleasure to book castle with this company, great choice of castles and excellent communication and easy online booking system. Our kids loved the obstacle course castle and delivery and set up/collection was so easy to coordinate.thank you.

07/05/2024: Great service, the lads came on the set day and set everything up in 10 minutes and did the same on collection. Kids loved the bouncy castle with slide. Will definitely hire again from Damiens Castles

08/11/2025: The food tasted amazing, the meat had a great texture and didn’t taste dry or anything. The service is also great, lots of friendly staff and the kitchen works fast. I recommend this place if you’re looking for a place to eat or for just a drink in Glengariff.

05/09/2025: Recently reopened. Food was very tasty. Service was excellent…the waiter gave us a ride home when we couldn’t get a taxi/uber.
